Cons

The unique skill Greed chose to transfer itself to Yuuki

Jargo

The greater the greed, the greater the effect, but if their greed exceeds hers then it starts losing effectiveness, hence the problem with trying to use it on Yuuki. If their greed is for the simple things like Rimuru with his wanting to protect his friends and create a comfortable life for everyone then the skill can't exploit it and loses efficacy as well. Since Yuuki's greed far exceeded Mariabell's, it jumped ship to him, the reasoning will be explained later. I won't spoil why it did that, but you've already seen hints that will only make sense later.

Guinaur

yeah Yuki's background gets covered later in the story (don't know if it'll be in this season of the anime though)

I do want to see a spin off with Yuki as the main character. They made a slice of life spin off season so why not?

Lightinger

Yuuki was always the person with the strongest greed so Greed the skill could never affect him. Here greed fully recognized yuuki as the Master Of Greed

Science time! Entropy refers to the the total disorder of a system (for example burning something increases its entropy since all the particles are spread out afterwards). Interestingly enough, the word was originally made by a German scientist as "entropie"

Depressed people have the will to not live, but instinctly the body wants to live. It's like if you want to drown yourself without a rock, your body will force you to breath and struggle for air. That is what Maribel meant. So Depressed peole would be affected.

Viewer that didn't watch the episode: DON'T READ On to why Maribel couldn't let Rimuru win. Her goal is to rule the human world, yes, but for that humanity has to exists. The setting of this world is that Humanoids are individually weaker than most monster but make it even with organisation and smart. Then the Demon lords, mostly humanoids play with all but kinda let humanoids live because controling organisation is easier than mindless beasts. Introducing RIMURU the Slime Goat. He unite all monsters, organize them in a society, make them cooperate with humanoids. There you have an organisation made of a lot of powerfull beeings. To top it all RIMURU have a seat in the Demon lord Council. The logic development is: 1/ The demon lords would prefer the powerful Tempest society 2/ In the very long term, Monsters would copy Human's greed and dominate both in body and mind, making the humanoids go extinct by absorbsion or extinction. That is why Maribel couldn't let Rimuru exists in her vision of the world.

So, is there a reason why this skill didn’t transfer from Maribel to Yuki right away, or did it transfer later, as soon as he appeared in this world? After all, his ambitions were enormous even before, and we were shown that. Personally, I just read the lite, I assume, novel version, where all of this wasn’t there, and that’s why Maribel is a new character to me. And I read that novel to the end.

At the end of the day, I actually find myself feeling kind of bad for Maribel. Sure, she was reincarnated from the soul of an old woman but, I think she kind of had the mentality of a child her age at the same time. Children tend to be inherently greedy for things even if they don't realize it, and lack emotional regulation when they don't get the things they want unless properly taught by the adults around them that throwing tantrums isn't okay. She however was enables in this behavior by Granville AND her skill, not taught to be thankful for what she already has. Heck, she would have more than likely been able to grow into a VERY respectable queen atop a prosperous nation. I dono, I just think that had she actually been put in her place instead of enabled, she wouldn't have turned out a corpse at the bottom of some ancient ruins.

maribel is basically a woman who had an easy past life due to her ability to manipulate others. and due to getting whats basically mind control she assumed she was powerful. its basically what happens when someone who knows nothing about fiction and has 0 reactivity is reborn in a world with powers. her story would be endlessly boring to read compared to rimuru's story. her story would be every chapter being mundane things and how she controlled this one guy to clean her room or go kill this random person etc. staying ignorant about the world too never helped her. she just focused on political stuff and never bothered learning how powers work or how to become strong.

Yuuki's backstory should be getting covered this season (according to the LN), well since at this point of writing this comment you are already almost done with cour 2 (up to episode 24), the backstory of yuuki should be getting covered during cour 3 of season 4 which will be released sometime in 2027.
