This week, a trio of wriffers (a shorthand I've just now come up with for "writers/riffers") - Conor, Kevin, and Bill - turned their hats around backwards in order to talk about our upcoming Over the Top re-riff, along with our history of this Stallone classic, and more.

Since it's almost brand new again, any chance there's a Hawks-Tuah joke in there at some point, so that it'll confuse any person that is watching this version of Over the Top say 1 year from now?

The story I heard is that Golan Globus really sought Stallone out for this role. They would make an offer, he would read the script, and reject it. The cycle would repeat with him getting offered more money each time. Eventually it got to a point where he said, "It became financially irresponsible for me not to make the movie."

The Psycho Ape movies are *far* too self-aware to be riffed. The first one is much better, as the second one is too in on the joke for its own good.
