I'm back, wrapping up with the final Cassmas post this year - with everyone's favorite holiday couple, Caroline and Hannah.
And, what's even more exciting - another brush with Hannah Dalton: Paragon of Self-Control...
----------WYLEI Cassmas---------
Paragon of Self-Control: Three
Did it make Hannah feel good, having a nemesis in Caroline’s office assistant? Of course not.
Did that make it untrue?
Unfortunately, not.
She and Lane locked eyes, and she knew she wasn’t imagining things when she saw the scowl on the office assistant’s face.
And – all right. Lane was far from Hannah’s “nemesis.” That description took things way too far, made it sound like there was something serious going on when that was absolutely untrue.
The idea of a nemesis implied that there was a rivalry, that there was a competition to be had.
And there was no competition with Lane. Because Lane was not a romantic rival, she in no way was vying for Caroline’s affection.
The issue, of course, was that Lane wished she was a contender.
Hannah didn’t feel insecure with Caroline, not in any way. She didn’t believe Caroline had any interest in anyone else, sexually or emotionally, and she believed very deeply in Caroline’s integrity.
Which was a humongous change from how she’d felt with Michael, with whom she hadn’t felt secure in any way, in a very long time. So long, she couldn’t remember what it felt like. And if she had felt that way in the beginning, it paled in comparison to how she felt with Caroline.
Not only safe and loved, but also like she was – wildly – the most attractive person in the world, because she had no doubts that to Caroline, she was.
She knew that there was a zero percent chance that Caroline would have the slightest desire to be with Lane.
… and yet, knowing this didn’t change the facts:
That Hannah had heard from Lane’s own mouth that she was “in love” with Caroline. That she wanted to maneuver a situation to make a move on her.
That she knew Lane had then taken note of the fact that even though Caroline wasn’t “wearing a ring,” she and Hannah were together. There was no mistaking it… and in the few times Hannah had visited Caroline’s office in the months since then, she’d taken it upon herself to make it very clear: Caroline was not available.
Somehow, that was how she’d found herself in an unspoken clash with a cute little twenty-something that worked in her girlfriend’s office.
In the grand scheme of her relationship with Caroline, it was something very small. Nearly irrelevant, even. Throughout the past year, as they’d navigated through the foundation of what they were building, Lane wasn’t really someone that factored into Hannah’s thoughts.
Except, of course, when they were in the same place.
Lane wasn’t a factor in her relationship with Caroline whatsoever, and for that, Hannah was grateful.
She simply wasn’t grateful about the fact that Lane, apparently, couldn’t simply move on from her mooning over Caroline Parker. Why couldn’t she take the stars in her eyes and aim them elsewhere? Instead, they turned to daggers every time she and Hannah crossed paths.
Hannah knew she wasn’t imagining it or reading into it, either, because when she’d been out Christmas shopping with Robyn earlier this month, they’d stopped at Caroline’s office. Caroline and a handful of others had been working on a Saturday morning on a high-profile case, and Lane had volunteered to come in to do office admin.
“Oh, that was a short visit,” Lane had said, in that unnatural, plastic perky tone she used specifically for Hannah, as she stood behind the large admin desk right in front of the elevators on Caroline’s floor.
Lane was affixing small holiday décor around, pausing as she looked between Hannah and Robyn.
Hannah fixed on a smile that she had gotten used to wearing while married to Michael, one she gave to people she couldn’t stand to talk to, but needed to be professionally polite to.
There was no possible way she would ever besmirch Caroline here, or be anything less than perfectly pleasant to anyone in this building. Even Lane.
“Yes, well, it’s a big, busy day here. Just wanted to pop in and say hi.”
Which had been at Caroline’s insistence, once they’d texted a bit and Hannah had told her how close they were while running errands.
“Yeah, super busy. So, probably a good thing you’re heading out – I’m going to make a run over to Caroline’s office to check if she needs anything for lunch.”
Hannah grinded her teeth, but maintained the smile on her lips. “I believe she’s all set, but, by all means.”
Lane turned to slightly readjusted the red and silver bow she’d put on the top corner of the half-wall, mimicking the look on the top of a gift box. “Mhmm. I have some extra holiday decorations I brought in, and wanted to offer her some festive cheer in her office, too.”
Hannah barely held back her derisive snort. “Good luck with that.”
If she’d needed any proof whatsoever that Caroline never actually had any honest, personal conversations with Lane, there it was. Because anyone that even knew Caroline as a friend knew her feelings on Christmas. The last thing Caroline wanted was fucking decorations in her office.
But, Lane could be let down by Caroline herself. Hannah was sure it would pop her bubble far more coming directly from Caroline, anyway.
And that little, vicious part of Hannah was darkly excited by that prospect.
“I just think that injecting a little holiday cheer is so important, especially for the people like Caroline, who are just so hard at work, all of the time. I’m also helping to organize the big holiday party this year,” Lane informed them, arching her eyebrow up at Hannah like this was something she was bragging about.
“That’s… great.”
“Caroline had said that she wasn’t sure she’d be able to make it when we were originally planning it, the week before Christmas. But, not to worry; I was the one that re-arranged everything so it would be a few days after Christmas, to make sure she could enjoy it, too,” Lane informed her, again with that tone. Like she was somehow getting one up on Hannah.
She wanted to both roll her eyes and snap at her, but also laugh at the ridiculousness of it all. Hannah hadn’t known that Caroline was the reason the firm’s holiday party had been moved, but she had known that Caroline had grumbled about how she’d been caught without a good excuse to miss it for once. The original date was the same night as Abbie’s school’s holiday chorus concert, and Caroline had been thrilled. She would never miss the night of almost mandatory schmoozing without a legitimate reason, but she had a reason this year!
… and then it had been changed.
Hannah had to wonder if Caroline even realized it had been moved because of her.
“Yes, I heard about the party change,” Hannah acknowledged, primly. And she also wondered that the hell was taking the elevator so long. It was a Saturday.
“It should be a lot of fun,” Lane said, with that faux-smile and glinting eyes. “I found an incredible dress.”
“Can’t wait to see it,” Hannah returned, tilting her head slightly, as she informed her, “I’ll be here as well.”
Lane’s eyes narrowed slightly, but the smile remained locked in place. Finally, the elevator dinged, and the doors opened.
Robyn waited until the elevator doors had closed behind them before she’d commented, “So… what the hell was that evil eye paired with the weird, fake-cherry tone about?”
Validated, she’d turned to face her. “I’m not imagining it, then.”
Her friend had shaken her head, clicking her tongue. “Not at all. She really looked like she hoped the doors would open, and you would accidentally walk into an empty elevator shaft. But also like she wanted to watch it happen after wishing you to have a nice day. Really unsettling.”
“It’s been that way since the day we met – conveniently the day she found out Caroline isn’t actually single,” she muttered, rolling her eyes.
“Well… the great news is, we trust Caroline.” Robyn looked at Hannah, carefully. “We do fully trust Caroline?”
“Of course we do,” she affirmed without pause.
Robyn nodded. “I thought so, but didn’t want to put words in your mouth.” She shifted from foot to foot, sighing, as she narrowed her eyes. “And the whole energy she had about the holiday party? Weird. Like, very weird. Like… she wishes you weren’t coming so she could spring herself on Caroline, sort of weird.”
Hannah’s eyes narrowed to little slits, as Robyn’s words hit home. Because that was precisely that glint in Lane’s eye. Like there was some sort of machination going on, as well as her completely rearranging when the party would be all so Caroline would attend…
She could so clearly remember Lane’s comment about the lack of a ring – and how she’d told her friend in that same conversation that her goal would be to do “recon” to figure out a way to make a move on Caroline.
Was that the big idea, then, for the holiday party?! To hope Hannah wouldn’t be there – or throw caution to the wind, even if she was – and gauge Caroline’s interest?
The reality was that Hannah wasn’t ready to get engaged. They going to be moving in together, and she couldn’t imagine – refused to imagine – a life without Caroline at her side, but that didn’t change her circumstances, and that she was still not that far removed from her divorce. And she certainly wasn’t nearly jealous, insecure, or simply crazy enough to even entertain the idea of jumping into a proposal because of Lane.
But that didn’t mean she wasn’t moved to do something.
Something to satisfy this feeling inside of her, the one that needed to firmly squash Lane’s Caroline-centric hopes and dreams, once and for all.
***
Caroline eyed her closely, obviously curious, as they sipped on the champagne going around at the party. Hosted on the third floor of their building much like it had been last year, the place was – admittedly – immaculately decked out with holiday cheer.
Hannah would give credit where credit was due.
“Are you all right?” Caroline asked, quietly, tilting her head.
Caroline, as always, looked… breath-takingly gorgeous. Wearing one of her black-tie formal, perfectly-tailored suits – all black, with the slightest hint of a sparkle in the material, something that was very subtle but if it caught the light just perfectly, made it appear as if she was glowing.
She had a silver comb sweeping up one side of her hair, leaving the other side tumbling down in waves around her shoulder.
Hannah adored that Caroline hadn’t even considered wearing a holiday themed item, not even when it came to the color, despite the fact that the memo that had gone out regarding the party had encouraged everyone to “be as festive as they desired!”
Clearly, Caroline had no desire for it.
She loved even more deeply that any holiday cheer Caroline mustered was dedicated to Abbie – well, her and Abbie, of course – but… Caroline only ever playfully grumbled in front of Abbie, never making anything holiday-related a black cloud around their girl.
Hannah, herself, had sprung for a silver dress, especially once she’d taken note of Caroline’s suit. The shimmer in the material of her dress fit perfectly with Caroline’s suit. They complemented one another perfectly, without being obnoxious about it.
“I’m more than all right,” she assured her, leaning into Caroline.
She’d like to hold her hand, to give it a firm squeeze, but… she couldn’t. Because Caroline had thoughtfully handed her a champagne flute before taking one for herself, so that was in one hand. And she had her purse clutched tightly in the other. She hadn’t checked it with her jacket, because she couldn’t and she also couldn’t risk it slipping off of her shoulder or something.
God, no.
“You really didn’t have to come tonight if you didn’t want to. I know it was hard to leave Ab, especially since she’s going to the Dalton’s tomorrow,” Caroline murmured, perfectly understanding, perfectly sympathetic.
And she wasn’t wrong; Hannah wasn’t looking forward to Abbie spending tomorrow night away from them, but she was going to see her grandparents, while also seeing Michael, and… that was what it was.
Tonight, Abbie had been more than thrilled to be babysat by Robyn, having Norah come over to spend the night as well, at home – at Caroline’s, at their home, the three of them. Hannah was still having that sink in since they’d made it official on Christmas two days ago, but she had no negative feelings about it, and that was… such a freeing, relieving feeling.
“I wanted to be here with you,” she insisted, softly, but firmly, staring intently into Caroline’s eyes so she could see how much Hannah meant that.
Because she did, for multiple reasons.
The biggest one being that she was Caroline’s partner, and things like this were important to Caroline’s career, even if they weren’t important to Caroline’s feelings. She’d shown up for Michael and his professional image for so long because of intimidation and force and it being “her duty.” She wanted to show up for Caroline in the same capacity, because she was proud to be by her side.
The smaller, but still very relevant reason being –
“Caroline! Happy holidays!” Lane’s voice came from their left.
And it surprised Hannah a negative amount that they’d only arrived five minutes ago, and Lane had zoomed in on them – on Caroline – immediately.
They both turned to face her, and Hannah could see what she meant by her “incredible dress.”
Meaning it was green – very Christmas when paired with the red of her hair – with a slit up the thigh, and an open back that also cut around into the front of the tight, clingy material, leaving a part of her thin, toned abdomen also on display.
Caroline slid her arm around Hannah’s waist in a move that was so very Caroline – easy and natural, second-nature by now – as a small, politely warm smile slid into place. “You, too, Lane. You – and everyone else on the committee – did a really wonderful job.”
Lane flushed, her smile growing. “Thank you. I like to think so.”
“Hannah used to do a lot of planning on some committees at my old firm,” Caroline said, squeezing gently around Hannah’s waist, turning her smile toward her. The brightness and warmth notched higher. “And did an incredible job.” She winked, before turning back to Lane. “If you, or anyone else, ever has any logistical questions or anything, feel free to pass them along.”
The smile on Lane’s face was frozen in place. “Sure, absolutely. That’s great to know.”
“To echo Caroline, you did a lovely job,” Hannah added, locking eyes with Lane for the first time since she’d approached.
“Thanks,” Lane returned, tightly. “I should – I’m going to greet a few other people. But let me know if you need anything tonight,” she effused, turning her gaze solely back to Caroline.
Who hummed in recognition, tilting her champagne flute toward her in a silent goodbye.
Spurred on by that, Hannah tightened her grip on her large purse, and downed the remainder of her champagne in one large sip. She placed it back down on the table nearby, and disentangled herself from Caroline so she could look up at her. “I’m just going to run to the bathroom, but – I’ll be back.”
Again, Caroline studied her, knowing that something was amiss. Something she would find out about very, very shortly. “All right…”
“If I need anything, I’ll text you,” Hannah stated, wanting to make sure Caroline was prepared to check her phone.
Clearly, her comment only made Caroline even more suspicious. “If you need anything, in the bathroom?”
Hannah blushed, but started to back away, waving her off. “Well, we’re not often on this floor. In case I get turned around or… something.”
With that, she turned and started quickly back toward the doors, a woman on a mission.
***
Only ten minutes later, she awaited Caroline in her office.
The floor was empty, lights were all out.
And Hannah had already sent her the text, asking Caroline to meet her in here.
When the door to the office slowly opened, she caught and held her breath in her throat, her heart hammering against her ribs.
Thank any higher power that it was Caroline and not someone who’d wandered to this floor and was confused about a light being on, visible in the cracks of the door or something.
It was Caroline, whose eyebrows were furrowed in confusion, a question clearly already forming on her lips. Until she laid eyes on Hannah.
Her face went slack, eyes widening, and she froze for a beat, before she hastily stepped farther into the office to slam the door shut behind her, giving them much-needed privacy.
“Holy…” Caroline breathed out, her dark eyes wide as she licked her lips.
The slightest hint of nerves worked through her stomach at the sight she was presenting. Herself, standing in Caroline’s office, wearing a strap-on, heels, and a bra. Something she’d never done before in her life. Something she’d have never had the desire or confidence to do before Caroline.
There was no need for doubt, she forcefully reminded herself. That… that was in her past. Her reality – present and future – were here. With Caroline.
Caroline, who found her beautiful and sexy. And it wasn’t just reflected in empty words; Caroline showed Hannah how she felt about her, constantly. Not only how she loved her, emotionally. But physically.
Caroline, who was staring at her like she wasn’t quite sure if Hannah was a ghost, a figment of her imagination.
Grabbing a hold on that confidence that sparked through her, she placed a hand on her hip and jut her hip out. The strap was a little more pronounced that way, and Hannah angled her chin up.
“You said that even though you preferred to wear the strap, you…” She licked her lips, the anticipatory heat flashing through her. “You didn’t mind, occasionally, being on the receiving end.”
Even though this idea had taken root because of the voice of a dark jealousy in the back of her mind, driven by the idea of making Caroline hers, all hers and only hers, right here, in her office – it wasn’t just about that, now. Not even close.
Now that she was here, in the moment, she just wanted it. Wanted Caroline. Wanted to be inside of her in a way she’d never been before, not with anyone.
“I don’t mind,” Caroline affirmed, quickly turning to flick the lock on her office door. “With you? Right now? I definitely don’t mind,” she repeated, turning back to face Hannah.
Caroline reached up and slid her suit jacket off, the move incredibly smooth as it slid down her arms, before she tossed it over the back of one of the plush chairs near the door. There it was, that innate confidence Caroline had when it came to sex, and Hannah felt herself pulse at it.
At the way Caroline then reached up, staring to undo the buttons on her shirt, as she walked closer.
Hannah felt a sparking awareness all over her body as Caroline approached, feeling like she was being touched everywhere that those dark eyes slid over her.
As soon as she was close enough, Hannah reached out, sinking her hand into Caroline’s thick, soft hair, pulling her in.
Their kiss was immediately hungry, needy, and she groaned into it. Keeping one hand in Caroline’s hair, gripping tightly, as she slid the other one down, inside of her open shirt.
Hers. Caroline was all hers.
The passion she had when she kissed Hannah like this was only for her, and she could feel it. Could feel it in the way Caroline tugged her bottom lip sharply between her teeth, before smoothing over the sting with her tongue.
The way Caroline’s hands gripped tightly at her hips, before sliding up slowly and intently, like she just wanted to feel every available inch of her bare skin.
“You are…” Caroline breathed against her lips, but gave up before finding a description that worked.
Hannah didn’t need it, anyway. She understood very clearly with the way Caroline was devouring her.
She hadn’t even realized Caroline had walked her backwards until she hit the edge of her desk, the sleek wood cool against her bare ass. She gasped into Caroline’s mouth, bringing both of her hands to grip the collar of her shirt, so tightly, as she found her balance.
“This–” She arched her head back, needing to center herself, to find the presence of mind to – to remind herself why she was doing this in the first place.
She’d gotten so worked up, having had so many visions of how she wanted to be inside of Caroline, how she wanted to make Caroline feel, here, tonight, while all of her colleagues were downstairs.
“This is about you,” she managed, her voice rough, as Caroline was working her plush, magical lips down Hannah’s neck.
Then she groaned, slapping both hands back against the desk as her back arched, because Caroline had slid one of her hands down and taken a hold of the strap, pushing it against Hannah.
Even though she’d never done this before, she’d not only done her research, but also had been on the receiving end from Caroline, only days ago, on Christmas.
She’d not only gifted one to Caroline to use on her, but had gotten one of her own. For tonight. And fuck, was she ready to use it, her clit already throbbing.
The way Caroline rocked the toy down into her made the end grind down against Hannah, making her shudder again. “Baby, I – god,” she dropped her head back. “I want – I want to fuck you.”
Caroline’s touch didn’t abate. “I know. But you know what’s going to make me so wet and ready to take you?”
Fucking hell, just hearing her say those words had Hannah grateful she was leaning back against the desk, her knees wobbling. “What?” She breathed out, raggedly.
The smile that flashed over Caroline’s face was dark and dangerous and made Hannah clench so hard on the emptiness between her legs.
“Making you come, first,” Caroline informed her, releasing the dildo, and instead sliding her hand down between Hannah’s legs.
Caroline’s magic hands maneuvered the material of the harness aside, which wasn’t very difficult given how Hannah had already spread her thighs without even thinking.
A desperate, keening sound left her throat as she felt Caroline’s fingertips against her. Tracing up her slit, before pressing against her clit.
She didn’t move, though, staring at Hannah expectantly. Her eyes so dark, burning and alive with want. “But… this is your night, baby,” she echoed her endearment, softly, right back at Hannah, rubbing her clit with just enough friction. “If you don’t want to come, first, then–”
Shaking her head, she reached up and dug her fingers into Caroline’s hair again. “Make me come. G-god, make me–”
She cut herself off with a long, low groan, as Caroline did as she was told, and started making the tight, firm circles around Hannah’s clit.
She could hardly breathe already, and all she wanted was to be surrounded, entirely, by Caroline. She wanted not only for Caroline to be hers, but to belong to Caroline right back. And her body…
Fuck, it was like her body was programmed to succumb to Caroline’s touch.
No – no, that was not giving Caroline the credit she was owed.
Hannah’s thigh was trembling within minutes, on the cusp of an orgasm so easily not only because she’d already been worked up with this whole plan, but because Caroline memorized everything about her.
She had memorized exactly what angle to touch Hannah’s clit, precisely where to hit that would make Hannah lose her mind.
Caroline deserved all of the credit, and Hannah wanted to drown in her.
She crashed their mouths together, the kiss a little messy, a little desperate, and very necessary to contain any of the sounds that wanted to escape the back of her throat, as she rocked down against Caroline’s fingers.
She was so close – almost there –
And, and all she could think about was that Caroline was telling the truth. She did get so aroused, so fucking wet, just from making Hannah come.
That by this, by making Hannah lose her mind, it was leading into Hannah being able to fuck her right back, and –
She fell into her orgasm, the sensation barreling through her before she was even prepared. She gripped Caroline’s hair in tight fists, moaning into her mouth, as Caroline returned the sound, echoing between them.
Breaking their kiss, she had to drop her head back and press her hand over her mouth in order to catch herself from getting too loud.
She jerked against Caroline, who held her firmly against the desk, wringing out every wave of her orgasm that she possibly could.
And she – she knew Caroline. She knew this woman that had completely shifted everything for Hannah, in the way she viewed sex. She knew that Caroline’s next step would very likely be to make her come again, probably in her mouth. Like, like that orgasm was like the appetizer, for them both.
But, no.
Hannah couldn’t have that happen tonight, and she forced herself to latch onto clarity through the haze of her orgasm faster than she normally would.
Catching her breath, she pushed herself up, meeting Caroline’s eyes, that had very clearly been feasting on the view of Hannah throughout her orgasm.
Something that, in the very beginning of this, would have made her feel a little self-conscious, but now made her feel empowered. Sexy. Certain.
Reaching down, she took a hold of Caroline’s hand and pushed her away. She had to remove the temptation, and she readjusted her harness, before pushing herself to stand.
Using her hold on Caroline, she tugged her to the other side of the desk.
Hannah had a vision, and she’d already pulled the chair back and angled it to the side. She turned swiftly, and reached down, quickly unbuckling Caroline’s slim belt and dropping it to the floor, then undoing her pants.
Taking any sort of commanding role in sex wasn’t something she’d ever done, pre-Caroline. And it wasn’t something she often did, now.
But she loved the look on Caroline’s face – like she was surprised, but ready for anything Hannah wanted to do to her, with her – whenever she was in this kind of mood.
“Like this,” Hannah ordered, breathily, as she sat in Caroline’s large, cushy chair. “I want–” She had to swallow, tightly, feeling her hands start to shake with the need, the excitement pulsing through her. “I want you to ride me. Pants and underwear, off.”
She dug her teeth into her bottom lip, almost telling her to remove everything – as had been the way she’d envisioned this evening – but… Caroline in her shirt with the buttons completely undone, wearing one of her dressy, expensive bras that cupped her breasts like it was designed only for her…
The vision changed.
“Keep your top on, exactly the way you are.”
A flush had slid over Caroline’s chest, and the desire was visibly etched into her expression, as a small smile quirked at her lips. “Anything you want.”
“I want you,” the words escaped her thoughtlessly, as she watched Caroline strip, and her wetness was visible on her underwear.
“You have me,” Caroline replied, a little breathless, herself, as she climbed onto the wide office chair, her knees bracketing Hannah’s thighs. She gripped the back of the chair, her face only inches away, as she rasped out, “Any way you want me.”
Hannah’s hands were trembling slightly, not from nerves, but from sheer anticipation and desire. She wasn’t sure she’d ever felt so high before in her life, as she reached one hand down to her strap to hold it in place, and landed her other hand on Caroline’s inner-thigh, sliding inward so she could feel Caroline.
Checking for herself that she really was ready for her.
And – fuck, if it wasn’t the most arousing feeling in the fucking world to know that by making her come, Caroline got this wet. Soaking Hannah’s fingertips without even dipping inside of her.
“I told you,” Caroline murmured, rocking her hips down against Hannah’s hand.
She – Hannah was well and truly robbed for words. It still happened, in an overwhelming moment, to simply need a moment to string a sentence together, and she felt strongly that this was a very understandable moment.
But she didn’t need words right now.
She brought her hand up to Caroline’s hip, and guided her down, holding her breath, as she locked her eyes onto the strap.
Onto the way Caroline slowly slid down, taking her inch by inch.
She couldn’t – jesus, she couldn’t figure out the best place to stare. At the way she was moving deeper and deeper into Caroline’s pussy?
At the way Caroline was shuddering against her, her head bowing back? At the way her mouth opened in a silent moan, as she rolled her hips in small movements as she fucked herself down against Hannah?
She needed to remember everything about this, because she – wildly – realized in this moment that she wanted to draw Caroline like this. She needed to produce something that could capture this moment forever.
When Caroline had taken all of her, sitting firmly in Hannah’s lap, she blinked her eyes open. Dark and hazy, with her full lips open as she took in a tremulous breath.
She brought both of her hands up, under Caroline’s shirt, reverently tracing over her waist, her hips. Encouraging her to move, and Caroline did.
Hannah was certain that she was glimpsing at some sort of heaven, some sort of ethereal world.
Caroline riding her, the sound of how wet she was combined with the constant string of quiet sounds falling from Caroline’s perfect mouth, echoing through Hannah’s ears, driving her absolutely fucking insane.
Her breasts, encased in her bra – the full heft of them spilling over – bounced directly in front of Hannah’s eyes, hypnotizing her.
Caroline dropped one of her hands from the back of the chair to grip Hannah’s shoulder, and used the other to take a firm hold of her jaw. Making Hannah shift her gaze from her mesmerizing tits, and up to her eyes.
“Do you feel this?” She asked, through little, gasping breaths, not stopping the rhythm of her hips for a single second.
She slid her hand that had been braced on Hannah’s shoulder down her arm, until she had Hannah’s hand in her own. And then she slid it from where Hannah had been tightly gripping her hip, down…
She watched, throat dry, as Caroline slid their intertwined hands inward, just beneath her bellybutton, and then down.
She didn’t know who groaned louder when they reached between her legs, brushing against Caroline’s soaking wet pussy. Feeling the strap as Caroline rocked her hips down against her, until she completely disappeared inside.
“Fuck,” the only word she could manage was strangled in her throat.
“Do you feel what you do to me? Do you think I would let anyone do this to me? Fuck me like this, so deep, here? At my work?”
Hannah slowly shook her head. “No. I don’t.”
She didn’t care if it was rhetorical; she wanted to answer. She wanted to say it aloud, that she knew she was the only person that would have Caroline in this way.
Ever.
“You’re right. Only you, Hannah,” she confirmed, her tone low and so fucking sexy.
Caroline tightened her hold on Hannah’s wrist, her gaze boring into Hannah’s. “Touch my clit. Touch my clit, and make me come all over you, because I’m already so… god, so close.”
She released Hannah’s hand, then, landing both of her hands back on Hannah’s shoulders to find purchase as she resumed the rhythm she’d established already.
Whether or not this had all been by Hannah’s design or not, now it was them. Neither one of them in control, just both of them working together, in tandem, for this single purpose.
The purpose to make Caroline come so hard, she forgot everything and everyone that could ever even try to come between them.
She found Caroline’s hard clit with the tips of her fingers, rubbing her firmly, in time with the way Caroline was using Hannah to fuck herself.
Caroline’s head dropped back, her mouth open on a long, throaty moan. “Just like that. Yes, baby – yes – just like–”
There was something about this moment, for Hannah. The moments leading into Caroline coming for her that revved her up, making her find the words that might otherwise flee her mind.
“You’re so sexy, Caroline,” she murmured, a little short of breath, herself. “I’ve known since the first time I really looked at you, at your body, that you’re art in motion.”
And that was exactly how she felt right now, watching Caroline move faster, harder. Feeling her full hip under one of Hannah’s hands, watching her breasts move in front of her face. The way the pleasured flush was spreading over her cheeks.
Those dark eyes fluttered closed as Caroline nodded, quickly, jerkily. “Ye-yes, Hannah, fuck.”
She stroked Caroline’s clit harder, and angled her hips up, meeting Caroline’s hips with her own, and she felt the moment the orgasm hit. Felt the tension break open in her body, as she dropped down firmly, fully, against Hannah, grinding down into her.
She was lightheaded from it, from Caroline, the full weight of her against Hannah, her hips jerking in small movements. Hannah, wildly, felt like she was experiencing a small orgasm herself, just from the pressure against her own clit, from how fucking arousing it was to be inside of Caroline like this. To feel Caroline coming against her like this.
They were both breathless long moments later, after Caroline had stopped moving, and was resting in Hannah’s lap.
She’d moved to having both of her arms lightly wrapped around Caroline’s waist, holding her, feeling her entire body pressed against her own. Breathing her in, with her face pressed into Caroline’s neck.
“Want to go home and get the hell away from this holiday party?” Caroline asked against her ear.
Hannah mustered up a small, exasperated laugh. “We barely experienced the party,” she pointed out.
Caroline shifted, carefully, as Hannah was still seated fully inside of her, backwards. Enough to look into Hannah’s eyes. “I went and chatted with the other partners before I got your text. I think I’ve put in all of the important face time.”
A part of Hannah would love to go back down to the party, to face Lane. Even if she didn’t know exactly what she and Caroline had disappeared to do, she was positive that she’d have noted Caroline’s absence, and would be sure to see color in Caroline’s cheeks, the glow she had.
But… more than that, Hannah wanted to keep this glow for herself. She didn’t want Lane, or anyone, to ever even see it.
“Let’s go home,” she agreed, stroking gently up the soft skin of Caroline’s back.

At home, after changing into pajamas, they settled on the couch. Just to take a moment, to soak in one of the final nights with the Christmas tree all set up. Especially because Abbie – and Norah – already down here, nestled into a nest of blankets on the floor, surrounded by the many gifts.
“Hey,” Caroline said softly to get her attention without waking the kids, stroking her thumb along the neckline of Hannah’s shirt, so that the tip of her finger brushed against her skin.
Hannah blinked herself out of the contentedly mindless trance she’d relaxed into somewhere in the last couple of minutes. Lulled into it by the utter comfort of Caroline pressed perfectly against her side, her arm securely over Hannah’s shoulders, gently encompassing her.
Turning her head just enough to be able to lock eyes with Caroline, she lifted one of her eyebrows in question.
The look in Caroline’s gaze was far more intense than the ease that had melted through her, which was somewhat alarming. Because she’d thought they were relaxing into a very serene moment, and she concern slid through her, making her tense a little bit. “Is everything okay?” She asked, also keeping her voice down.
Caroline studied her closely, but didn’t answer her. Instead, she posed her own question, “That’s what I want to know. Is everything okay?”
Hannah frowned in confusion. She’d felt absolutely, utterly content…
“You are never going to hear me complaining about what happened tonight. I was more than a willing and eager participant, and you’re welcome to surprise me like that any time you want to. But, I’m not blind. And I know you have this little… thing? With Lane.”
She felt the soft sting of heat in her cheeks, feeling ridiculously embarrassed. Even though she’d asked Caroline about Lane the first time she’d met her and learned about her crush, she hadn’t mentioned her again. Silent battle or not, she didn’t want to be that kind of partner, especially not to Caroline.
“Everything is okay,” she assured, shifting to put a little bit of space between them, enough to truly turn and face her.
Caroline’s expression was skeptical. “You sure? I obviously know…” She trailed off for a moment, her eyebrows furrowing, before she continued, “About your past experiences, with your partner and office assistants who have a thing for them. But–”
She cut Caroline off, firmly shaking her head. “Baby, no. I mean… well, yes. You and I both know Michael’s history. But I know you two are not the same, and I don’t feel…” She trailed off, tightly rolling her lips as she tried to formulate the right words.
And Caroline, perfect Caroline, understood her, and didn’t say anything. Instead, all she did was reach out and interlock their fingers, lowering them to rest in her lap.
Which seemed to be the magic key for Hannah, giving her exactly what she needed.
“When it was happening with him, I didn’t feel the need – or desire – to stake some sort of claim on him. To parade our relationship or try to make someone back off.” God, it felt silly to say aloud, and she dropped her eyes down to stare at their hands. At how well they fit together. “Back then, I felt insecure and humiliated, but also… I didn’t want him.”
She flexed her fingers around Caroline’s, looking back up at her.
“I want you, Caroline. In every single way. Even the ones that – that terrify me.”
She glanced away, deliberately dragging her gaze over their den.
Their den.
The Christmas tree that Caroline had put up for her and Abbie, had decorated solely for them. All of the other little decorations they’d set up.
She paused, lingering on Abbie. She was so comfortable here, in this place that Caroline had made their home even before Hannah had recognized it for what it was.
Drawing in a deep breath, she returned her gaze to Caroline’s.
“I don’t feel insecure about us. About you. I believe – no, I know,” she corrected herself, forcefully, with the strength of her conviction. “That if you wanted into your office tonight and saw Lane – or anyone else – wearing what I was wearing… or not wearing… that you would turn them away without a second thought.”
Some of the tension that had been present in Caroline’s shoulders melted away, and brought that beautiful smile out. “Yeah?”
She nodded. “Yes. Because I know how you love me. That it’s the same way I feel for you.”
And there wasn’t a single person on this earth who could capture Hannah this way.
“I just… I don’t know what it is. With these feelings for you comes this – this need to make sure everyone else knows you’re mine, too. And I know that is illogical, and I know it–”
She was cut off by Caroline’s lips on hers, firm and insistent at first, before they gentled.
“Feel free to let everyone know that I’m yours,” Caroline murmured, her warm breath washing over Hannah’s lips as she pulled back. “Any time.”
As they settled back into position, snuggled together so perfectly, it was as if they were made of one body, Hannah really felt – truly, fully – that things were right.
She had so many concerns, even in the face of Caroline’s utter perfection – because of that perfection, at times – that it was scary to give in.
But this…
This home, this life, this woman was perfect for her, and for her daughter.
And there was not a better feeling in the world to have, moving into the new year.
