You know the Lenny's scandinavian heritage idea is quite similar to carls Icelandic heritage in the show

This is one of the verrrrry few season 16 episode episodes with a guest podcaster on it, I noticed

Always good to hear Steve Yurko, this is an era of the Simpsons that I was still tapping it, or watching it every Sunday. Rewatching them recently it's not the worst, I kinda like when they fuck with the timeline just to shake things up. But yeah it wasn't much. Duncanville is underrated and should have at least been a couple more seasons.

The future episodes always bothered me good or bad because I’ve always been a strong believer at the turn of the century they should’ve done a time skip, nothing crazy ~5 years every 10 real world years and all those stories about Lisa or Bart dating make more sense and it wouldn’t look so uncanny when the Simpsons are using smartphones and maybe even would stir up popularity when you know this is the season premiere of the new era but I digress. As the crowd in The PTA Disbands said, the finger thing means the money

Very odd that this is the second episode in a row of the season (I believe) that fails to pay for a hippie classic but yet splurges on another needle drop. Though, given how litigious Steely Dan are, maybe the Donald Fagen track was absurdly expensive.

American Dad has a similar ending to this episode with 2009's "Stan Time" where Stan and Francine reconcile deep underwater while the song "Sea of Love" plays (although it's the Robert Plant version). Not accusing anyone of plagiarism, I just thought it was a funny coincidence.

I can't believe the Simpsons predicted gymcels

Maybe it's because I'm a similar age but I agree with Bob. Work out on the weekdays and then go nuts on the weekends 💪🍻

I hated CatDog but I’m surprised to hear it was unpopular cause I’m sure most of my friends liked it growing up I did like Catscratch

First time watching this episode, agree with the hosts that Jenda is a pretty uneven character, but in the first half (thanks to Poehler's performance) she does feel like a character an older Bart would fall for, which is no small feat.

Ol’ Lowtax lost his head alright, or at least parts of it and at a high velocity!
