Nathan Rabin! Extra psyched for this episode

Alistair Shand aka Bongo

There is a a English football (soccer) player called Max Power -always makes me smile when I hear his name !

Frank Grimes

there's three ways to do things: the right way, the wrong way and the Max Power way.

Let's settle this "Where is Springfield?" question once and for all. In the season 26 episode, 'Simpsorama', it is shown that Panucci's Pizza is located in Springfield, and a time capsule buried in Springfield in the 2010s causes problems for New New York in the 31st century. Springfield is in New York City.

"Strap in" and "yes, but faster" is catch phrase my bro and I have used sense 1st airing

I happen to have the same name as the CEO of Wayfair, a fact that gets pointed out to me on a near constant basis. I never really minded until very recently when they had some controversy involving working with ICE. If anyone knows what I should change my name to I'm open to suggestions

Andrew Bouvier

Although my full name isn't famous, my last name is certainly well known. I've found that those of the Boomer generation are more likely to say, "Oh, like Jackie O!" when they hear my name, whereas Gen X and Millennials are more likely to reference Marge's Maiden name.

Nicholas Berry

This episode really spoke to me because when I was growing up in the UK there was a very dull clean cut actor called Nick Berry who was in a popular soap opera and then a nostalgic cop show called Heartbeat. He also had a terrible charity record called Every Loser Wins that charted. At school people used to call me Heartbeat Boy for years after Nick Berry stopped being on the show. Now old people will still occasionally snigger and say "Not the Nick Berry from Heartbeat" like they're the first person to think of it.

Joe Hodgson

I assume when Bob and Henry first saw a comment from me they got excited, then realized there was no "L" at the end of my first name and the rush was over.

I liked this episode upon rewatch, but honestly the scene where Marge isn't pleased with Homer's name change made me a little uncomfortable. Her lines about how she fell in love with Homer, not Max made me think about people still using a trans person's deadname and saying things along those lines. By no means do I think this specific episode (or that scene) is transphobic, but it's just an interesting example of how things can age weirdly through no one's fault/ how things might be written differently when not by a group of Harvard white guys with limited life experiences.

ChemyChems

My full name isn't famous, but having the first name of Mitch has less to some.....unique moments where our president yells about the Senator Mitch McConnell but just calls him Mitch. So from time to time I get a tweet that looks like the president yelling at me.

Robert Flaxman

My name is broadly not famous but my wife was rather amused recently when some real estate developer with the same name was ensnared in that whole college admissions scandal.

The "Hennnryyy"/"Com-Ing, Mother!" bit is from the old Aldrich Family radio program and movie series, when Mother Aldrich called for her boy Henry. The funniest rendition is in Tex Avery's "Hollywood Steps Out", when it's used on Henry Fonda, who's oggling bubble dancer Sally Rand. Got to say, though, while I always love your enthusiasm, I love your criticism, too. So I'm disappointed when you guys go easy on such obviously BAD episodes! I think you guys were harder on certain Mirkin and Oakley-Weinstein episodes, which are all better than this. It'd be interesting to hear if time (and so many bad episodes and series later) heals old wounds and these look better to you in retrospect (definitely a topic for the season round-up). My memory of watching the series in bulk a couple years ago is that I was increasingly losing interest in Season 10, getting increasingly irritated in S11, and had to stop watching altogether in S12.

Eve of the Stars

Season 10, more than any other season, really feels like "The Homer Show." He's the star of almost every single episode. Bart and Lisa both got a couple, and Marge got one. Homer's great and all, but dangit, Marge is funny too!

The related discussion of replacing voice actors in this gives me a great excuse to talk about the very personal time I experienced the voice actors of the Pokemon anime getting recast. In 2005, 4Kids Entertainment has the license for Pokemon revoked back to The Pokemon Company. In 2006, we learned this also means the dubbing crew and especially the voice cast was to be replaced for season 9 onwards. In part, this was Pokemon Company cutting costs with cheaper actors to try and get the same quality for less. The new cast was tested out in the TV special Mastermind of Mirage Pokemon, and they are terrible sounding. The whole time, fans kicked off a "Save Our Voice Actors" campaign, to no avail by September when the new season premiered on Cartoon Network. Now, the later cast has been with the series longer than the beloved 4Kids actors like Veronica Taylor, Eric Stuart, Rachel Lillis, et al. To be fair to the new cast, they've come a long way since that uncomfortable transitional moment in Pokemon anime history.
