Really great choice to do an Aardman selection for November. Wallace and Gromit has been such a perennial runner-up, I think mostly because it's been up against some serious competition. I would have absolutely voted for FLUSHED AWAY if it were an option because I am a freak, but I think it's finally time for the were-rabbit.

Really looking forward to the eventual day you guys do Avatar on the show. I was originally going to ask for it when I was a patron, but I was stopped because there were like 3 episodes I was debating between, soit'll be cool to find out what Bob decided on.

This was a great chaser to dumpster fire debate night 1. Thanks for all you guys do.

I cannot express how much I agree with Henry that season six and seven of the venture brothers are the best seasons they ever did granted it’s standing on the shoulders of giants but it’s way the fuck up there

You’re not missing anything with Bless the Harts. What’s worse than the animation is horrendous voice acting. Stacking the southern show cast with sketch comedians with no semblance of a southern accent (or a good impersonation) just makes it sound amateurish.

Regarding crayons, I pronounce them cray-on, however I am English so that's probably why! Certain American pronunciations are very interesting to my ear (mirror sounding like mir, for example).

I wouldn’t worry too much about the ‘all the pretty horses’ and ‘horse whisperer’ confusion, the important thing is your guest highlighted and warned well how terrifically boring the latter is. Made for teenage girls who wished they owned horses is how my ex-girlfriend rationalized it to me. Nearly 20 years later, I would still put it in my top three most dull films I’ve ever watched. Incidentally, in Asia they call them ‘coloured pencils’.

Glad to hear you're checking out Demon Slayer, I just finished up the manga and I'm close to done with the anime. I also thought it sounded pretty generic at first and while it's not exactly revolutionary it is compelling and well executed, and very satisfying in the end. Hoping you'll cover an episode on WAC at some point in the future.

The comments about Image Comic’s edginess unlocked a memory in me of owning an issue of the TMNT run they did. Specifically the issue where Donatello fell from a helicopter, got paralyzed, and Mike and Raph had to fight sexy ninja nuns while Leo took a spirit journey to find Donatello. Oh and by the time they found Don, he had been eaten alive by rats. I was probably too young to own this comic.

Still loving every minute, guys! Since it's my birthday this month, I decided to treat myself by bumping myself up to the $10 level using the annual option which I think will take me through all the episodes you have currently recorded :-) Keep up the awesome work!

Apologies is this is a double comment. My cell network is behaving wildly. I've been watching along with you in season 11 with my 7 year old son. Monday night I turned on the new episode and his immediate comment was "Wow they have really good graphics now!" And "They only let the car hit Homer in more recent seasons"

For my local affectation of the word crayon, I pronounce it like the word "Crown" go ahead and mock me lol

Saying "cran" for crayon is DEFINITELY a regional thing. Speaking as a Canadian from Ontario, I can't say I ever really heard (or specifically NOTICED) anyone pronounced it differently from "Cray-on" until the YouTube era when a lot of Americans would say cran and it confused the hell out of me. Gus Johnson has a good short sketch about an increasing amount of crayons appearing in his apartment, where "cran" is said increasingly more slurred and bizarre, so I can't help but think of that any time someone else says it that way.

The only time I've ever "cosplayed" is when I put on a Pen-Pen kigurumi and my gf dressed up as Misato so yes, I love Pen-Pen too.

Venture Bros had some merch, but it was all like 10 years ago between seasons 3 and 4. I wonder if Publick and Hammer had a lot of control because it was very specific as far as action figures were concerned. They basically only did retro-styled toys, like Mego "dolls" of most of the main cast followed by 3.75" simple action figures. There was never a proper, modern, toyline for the series which is really surprising since the show was so deep into nerd culture which goes hand-in-hand with toys. I am a sucker for Lego sets based on licenses I enjoy, so I have both Simpsons sets and the mentioned NES one as well. The Simpsons ones are quite fun, though if you're a stickler for show accuracy the layout of the first floor may drive you nuts since they basically just created the kitchen and living room (the size of the set would easily have to double in order to accommodate a proper layout) and the second floor isn't connected to the garage like it should be. It was still quite fun to build though and I think of Lego sets like expensive jigsaw puzzles as I just enter a "zen" state when building them over days. Though if I'm being honest, I think the Kwik-E-Mart set was actually the more fun of the two. I'm still surprised Lego stopped at just the two and didn't do The Android's Dungeon since that seems like an easy sale. At least my wallet was spared. Denizen of the north east checking in on crayon, it is "cray-on" up here. And I get to hear that word a lot thanks to remote learning when my son's kindergarten teacher says "get our your cray-ons!" every day.

For clarification's sake I am strictly a circa 1996 Sonic fan - the second he got the green eyes I bailed and all my crap went into boxes in the basement.

Can we push hbo max to fun final season of venture bros that was stopped

re: talk of NES Lego @23:22 I can't speak for the overpriced NES kit, but I've put together a few of the Lego Mario sets with my kids and they're pretty fun, ngl. With a standard lego box to build up the area around the scannable Mario pieces, you could make some pretty fun levels.

Hey, guys. Thanks for reading my Sonic comment. ^_^ Also, on the subject of "crazy" UK Sonic the Comic, did you know that Carnival Night Zone (from Sonic 3) was apparently constructed by the scheming "Marxio Brothers"? Yes, an evil version of the classic Marx Brothers comedy trio... but dressed as plumbers. I'm not making this up. Anyway, stay safe and looking forward to next week's Maude episode. :D

Sabrina

I bought one of your Talking Simpsons logo masks and it is a very big conversation starter!

Bob!!! Fun to hear you mention the Venture Bros. book. I was the one that gifted that to you. It seems forever ago! I brought it to the live show with Bill Oakley which, btw, was a simply fantastic show. I REALLY look forward to the day that you can do these rod shows again and I can attend. As for your book still being sealed, no worries! So is mine. I have had the same intention as you. I want to watch through the entire series and kinda follow along in the book content. I have not been able to do that yet, but plan to soon; very soon! Best to you and Henry. And also, I pronounce it CRAY-on...y’know, like how it’s spelled. 😉

RyoGeo

“Rod show?!!” No, no! I meant, road show, ROAD SHOW!!! A rod show would be a very different kind of show. Perhaps with less focus on comedic animation.
