We here at the Talking Simpsons Network are as excited about this year ending as you are! And as we enter the the holidays with a tense November in the rearview mirror, it's time once more to vote on the next film we'll be podcasting about. And as was customary for a lot of 2020, the subject of our $10 premium podcast will be decided a few weeks earlier than we've done in previous years.

Currently, we're so far ahead in podcast recordings that we've already finished recording the next What A Cartoon Movie! (The End of Evangelion), meaning that in December we have time to record our January 2021 movie podcast, and we can start as soon as you choose the subject for us!

And as we always say: For those of you who are brand new to the Patreon, WELCOME, and also you should know that once a month we release the What A Cartoon Movie! podcast, an extra-long discussion about an animated feature film, exclusively for our $10+ Patreon subscribers. And when we open up the voting for each month's subject, we want all the $5 subscribers to also have a chance to be heard, so those subscribers can help pick episodes they might enjoy down the line!

We're going to begin 2021 with a brand new theme for the poll: Cartoon Network Specials! These were the double-length specials made by CN starting at the turn of the century, covering some of their biggest franchises!

Here's what you'll be voting on:

Billy & Mandy: Wrath of the Spider Queen (2007), the special grim adventure of the friends of death against one of their greatest foes ever!

Dexter's Laboratory: Ego Trip (1999), Genndy Tartakovsky's original finale to his groundbreaking series that messes with the timeline in inventive ways!

The Flintstones: On the Rocks (2001), the attempted Flintstones reboot that was too edgy for the vitamin sellers but is worth searching out!

Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends - Destination: Imagination (2008), the biggest adventure in the series defined by some of the best folks who worked on many classic CN shows!

So please, make your choice known before the poll closes on the night of December 7! Thanks as always for your inspirational support, and know that we're really looking forward to recording January's podcast ASAP!

[A previous version of this poll posted with mistaken settings on it, apologies, but this is the real poll. If you voted already, please re-enter your vote, thank you.]

MANY apologies for redoing the poll here after the previous one had been live for a few hours. I made a mistake in the poll's settings, so unfortunately if you already voted, please put in your vote once more. Very sorry about that, and thanks as always for sharing your opinions on the next movie we cover! - Henry

is marcy still burning

I feel like Flintstones on the rocks could fit in a regular weekly podcast as opposed to a movie one. Also you picked the wrong Billy and Mandy movie, Big Boogie Adventure is way better.

Love both the Dexter and the Billy and Mandy and since Dexter will probably win I’ll throw my vote behind Billy and Mandy I think that show is a little underrated and it holds up really well upon revisiting. The summers between 5th grade and 7th grade I spent a lot of time playing rune scape and watching billy and Mandy pretty much all day long because they kept marathoning it during the summer for some reason.

Possibly the toughest pick I've ever had to make in a poll 😂 I'm such a dork for CN

littleterr0r

I haven't seen any of these and have no skin in the game and am therefore now accepting bribes of all kinds for my vote.

Bbbbbbbut my gf and I just rewatched all of Fosters!!!!!

Oh wow, I've never heard of this Flintstones movie before, and it's got really pleasing design. The fact that it's such an oddity and completely out of print makes it an easy pick for me - I'm a sucker for lost and rarely seen cartoons.

Matt Bixler! Hello!

Where on earth did you find copies of On the Rocks and Ego Trip and also give me one

Mikey Cox

I’m showing my age for this one, I’ve never heard of any of these.

I’d LOVE a comprehensive breakdown of Flintstones on the Rocks. But Ego Trip is the clear winner. Nobody talks about it.

Eve of the Stars

I'm so upset Ego Trip isn't legally available anywhere, it's so weird!

ShyRanger

If you guys do another CN movies poll in the future, I would suggest the other Billy & Mandy movie (Big Boogey Adventure) first instead of Spider Queen. Big Boogey Adventure was the first movie so that would make more sense. Also I think it's better IMO.

whythemy

I watched Ego Trip earlier this year, on a whim. Still holds up, really great film. Hope it wins.
