Also... strictly come dancing aka dancing with the stars . It’s known as strictly - strictly from strictly ballroom and come dancing from some weird ass old people dancing show from the 70’s

I'd say the Lisa segment was a combo of Russian Doll and Happy Death Day. Russian Doll because it mimics it a little more, especially with Nelson being part of it.

Matt Doolittle

In Doug Stanhope’s defense, he said he was a libertarian until he found out what actual libertarians are like, and no longer identifies as such. The girls gone wild thing is definitely gross though.

OK, for the absolute official record. FLINTSTONES ON THE ROCKS DID NOT AIR ONLY ONCE. It aired SEVERAL TIMES. Perhaps it disappeared from airwaves quickly, but it was on so much my dad actually managed to catch it in the daytime and was laffing at it.

I gotta bring up one thing Henry has mentioned on several occasions including this episode: kids still play dodgeball. I was born in 92 and played it plenty growing up. as a summer camp and rec program staff I have led hundreds of children in dodgeball games. You use “gator skin” balls that can throw well but are incredibly light and don’t cause injury (though it still sucks to get hit in the face). It’s a regularly requested game from all kinds of kids. Dodgeball is great, and nobody plays with the old school rubber ball.

What’s the deal~ with true crime podcasts? Between those and the True Crime Network, there’s a morbid obsession with murder and homicide. Podcasts about cartoons and video games are way cooler

Well congrats Bob and Nina; I gotta say that even though I meant no offence with my comment on the last TttA, I do regret my glibness about the rising restrictions in BC. Glad it all worked out and as an upside sarcastic randoms like myself can no longer offer bad takes about your situation.

Thrillhouse Cycling

As a long time listener, I've been looking forward to watching the table read episode for awhile now. And as someone who helps run a competitive cycling + Simpsons themed meme account (@thrillhousecycling) and Simpsons inspired bike race team in Vancouver, we were pretty jazzed to hear it also featured an extended satire of cycling! In case anyone is wondering just how well-observed that biker bar scene was, we wrote up a probably-too-long article about it. TLDR verdict? Not bad at all! Here it is: https://cyclingmagazine.ca/sections/news/the-simpsons-parodies-the-cycling-scene-official-thrillhouse-verdict/ Can't wait for the episode next week!

As another Talking Simpsons devotee and orbiter of these Vancouver bike weirdos, I'm here to say I like this.

Thanks for reading my comment 😊 My mom would be proud that I’m out there spreading the Anti-Devos message to the podcast world. Also, may have stopped in my tracks mid-run to do a little cheer when I heard that Bob is going to get to go to Canada 🎉

Ric Mahurin

I’ve been listening since 2016. I live in Port Angeles WA which is a border town via ferry to Victoria BC. The travel ban has had some devastating results on our economy. I fully grasp Bob’s relief at being allowed into Canada.

Congrats on the approval to come to Canada Bob! A bunch of my co-workers at the Vancouver indie game developer I work for had various experiences moving from the US to here in the last couple years and Covid definitely complicated it. As I'm sure you've heard from Nina, BC has not faired as well with Wave 2 as we did with Wave 1 but in comparison to anywhere in the US we are doing okay. Also something I'm sure your aware of but worth mentioning is that Canadian digital rights for animation sucks. We currently don't have a distributor for any of the new animated Hulu or HBO Max series. The live action series are on Crave but the animated stuff wasn't signed for whatever reason despite a some of those series being animated right here in Vancouver. And just weird delays with no announcements. Like Season 31 of The Simpsons isn't on Disney+ if your connecting from a Canadian IP with no hint of when or if they are going to add it. So I guess I recommend a good VPN, ha. Anyways, safe trip!

Originally heard one of the announcements as "There are two billion Mandy movies."

Very happy for Bob and Nina!!

Oh that thing about the Ps4 sounding like its taking off hit me. I am trying to play Control on mine and it sounds like my PS4 is getting ready to intercept HE-111s over the English Channel.
