DuckTales will win the March movie poll, but my heart says Teacher’s Pet. It’s got the spirit of the South Park movie but for kids: an irreverent musical full of snappy, quippy lyrics and sly humor

Disney's One Saturday Morning was in a weird spot in the early 2000s. In 2002 ABC's Saturday Morning block became a Disney Channel rerun block + Power Rangers, and the originals that were made for OSM were dumped on Toon Disney. For Teacher's Pet, my guess is Disney ordered 39 episodes and a movie, and were going to piece meal episodes out until Spring 2003 or Fall 2003, and release the movie soon after. But when OSM was discontinued, Toon Disney just ran the final 18 episodes immediately which is why there was a 20 month gap between the last episode and the movie.

To Henry, the cool thing about calendars is that you can usually find a twin year from the past and use that old calendar for the current year. I’m sure it’s not the same as a brand new one, but at least it’s a fun hack. And to Bob, many congratulations.

Oh, the shit about 12 Forever is totally legit. Creator is a serial sexual harasser of both sexes, and her producer was an enabler who tried starting shit with me when I called them out for some of their hypocrisy when they virtue signaled re: how "exclusionary" Ren &; Stimpy was. It didn't last long, and they deleted all their R&S related tweets.

You guys also forgot Kevin Curran as another Simpsons writer who passed away.

Still iffy on disenchantment....I denno...saw all parts, and I appreciate what they're building, the different worlds are awesome, my personal favorite being a world bean visits i think in ep 5 of part 3. And I appreciate the narrative...but beyond that, it feels a little hollow...

Fuck yes the venture bros, and that episode is so amazing

Surprised no mention of Tom Sawyer being on Amazon Prime. My girlfriend's cousin started watching it before coming to stay with us for Thanksgiving 2019. Watched all of it in a few days, and decided to take a trip to Hannibal since it is about 2 hours from where we live. Was a pretty interesting trip being in an interracial relationship in a small Missouri town... but the caverns were pretty cool and we had a cromulent hometown diner meal on our way out. Would recommend the Tom Sawyer anime for anyone familiar with Mark Twain or wanting an older SoL anime.

Also, having slogged through Medieval Futurama "part" 3, I still don't know why anyone would give a fuck about any of these characters at all.

I'm surprised you guys didn't mention that God-awful Simpsons image of Groundskeeper Willie dressed like the "shaman" who stormed the Capitol. I saw a tweet with this image attached saying the Simpsons had predicted the future again. It's obviously photoshopped, the hat and tattoos look completely different. You can also see part of Lisa in the pic and she's obviously cropped from another scene. Here it is: https://imgur.com/a/JHCAwWQ

To answer your question about what Japan was doing with Covid Stimulus, last year they gave everyone 100,000 yen, and if you are a freelancer and earned less than half during a month of last year compared to the average month from 2019, you were entitled to one million yen. Otherwise it’s business as usual hear, as the recent state of emergency only had some businesses shut at earlier hours. Fortunately most game and animation studios are working from home, but many businesses are operating as usual.

Young adults recording (and now streaming) their crimes has been a fun (terrible) development of the past 15 years. It is very very common, Facebook seems to be the platform of choice.

Don't know why, but I feel compelled to defend Alley Oop, it was a super fun comic strip about a time traveling caveman that feels like a 30/40s version of Hellboy. As a fan of classic adventure strips, its on of the best. Pretty shocked to hear it's still going.
