Sadly the summer has reached its end, but we at Talking Simpsons Network are already working hard on our big fall season of podcasts! As we enter September, we're still hard at work on Talking Simpsons and What A Cartoon, but also on our once-a-month $10 premium podcast, and we'll need your help to decide what we'll be covering in October.

Currently, we're so far ahead in podcast recordings that we've already recorded September's What A Cartoon Movie! (The Road to El Dorado), meaning that now we have time open on our schedule to record our October 2021 movie podcast, and we can start on that as soon as you choose the subject for us!

For those of you who are new to the Talking Simpsons Patreon, WELCOME. Also, you should know that once a month we release the What A Cartoon Movie! podcast, an extra-long discussion about an animated feature film, exclusively for our $10+ Patreon subscribers. And when we open up the voting for each month's subject, we want all the $5 subscribers to also have a chance to be heard, so those subscribers can help pick episodes they might enjoy down the line!

Our next 2021 poll comes at a very special time, as October is the month we'll be launching our next miniseries, Blabbin 'Bout Batman: The Animated Series! It's only fitting that same month our What A Cartoon Movie features a Batman film we've been wanting to do since forever: Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker! We had so much fun earlier this year covering the regular Batman Beyond series that we're dying to cover the direct-to-video film classic, with amazing TMS animation, one of Mark Hamill's greatest performances, and lots of behind-the-scenes shenanigans with censored moments!

But we still want it to be the choice of our patrons. And so, as we've done in the past with these types of movie podcasts, we're leaving this up to you all as a yes or no option in our monthly poll. If you want us to be teleported back to the world of early 2000s DVDs, vote "YES." And if you would prefer a different poll for the October movie podcast, then vote "NO" and we'll do a different poll with four choices after that.

So please, make your choice known before the poll closes on the night of September 7! Thanks as always for your continued support of our podcast, we hope you enjoy whatever wins!

A wonderfully dark and chilling movie! A perfect non-Halloween pick for October!

Return of the Joker is fantastic. Was happy to see HBO Max has the 'uncut' version when I watched it for the first time over the summer

Aaron Alcott

I've never seen a second of animated Batman but I like hearing you two talk cartoons so I'm all for it

SomeBloke

Voted yes, mostly because I have suspicions that in the future we may or may not live in some sort of society and I need the matter settled.

Vicky Radke

Yeess! Batman Beyond is one of my favorite shows and I think it just needs to be talked about more in general!

Massive Hat

I've actually never seen this movie so this would be a good excuse to finally break out the blu-ray for it!

Michael Branson

We live in a society guys, they need to space out all the Batman. They are gonna overload themselves between this and the top 10 TAS.

Frank Grimes

Was blown away when I first bought the VHS. And this was before I knew there was an uncut version. I was blown away more

Tashmon Dimps

Yeah, why not? It’ll be a fitting selection

Dylan (batmanboy11) Freitag

All I have to say is "fuck yes." Would love to see Subzero talked about sometime down the line too

Drew Frisbie

Yes please for the love of god

Bradford A Barker

Do the Joker movie, but only make Hollywood Handbook Joker riffs.

bearwitness

For me, hands down this is the best Batman movie (animated or live action). Can't wait to hear you guys talk about it!

JoshuaMartian

Recently finished my watchthru of Beyond with RoTJ and it blew me away! I've been dying to hear Bob and Henry discuss this masterpiece. A very easy vote for 'yes'

Mike Mariano

I watched this movie last year solely due to Henry talking it up on the podcast. It's a natural fit for you!

Charles Morgan

I was a student at the Joe Kubert School at the time of the original, neutered, release. I can clearly remember sitting in a classroom reading the official scriptbook, soaking in all the juicy, PG-13 level, violence that had been cut out. Fortunately, WB came to its senses and released the uncut version. Unfortunately, both versions were issued in those horrible cardboard snap cases.

Who tf voted no on Return of The Joker!?!
