We've reached the end of the month, which means it's once again time for another installment of our community podcast. Join us as we discuss the newest episodes of season 34, a fully playable version of the Waterworld parody seen in The Springfield Files, Vice's new documentary on The Simpsons, and Vulture's new ranking of every Treehouse of Horror segment to date. And, as always, we read and respond to your questions and comments from the most recent round of episodes. We swear on Ray Jay Johnson's grave that you'll enjoy this episode!

This season’s Treehouse of Horrors had the most terrifying animation of Krusty I’ve ever seen in thirty+ years of the Simpsons! I was surprised I didn’t have nightmares last night!

Hell, Yeardley already ripped off another podcast's name and format so she'll be the one that comes after you

Brian Hortin

Henry if you do want to watch the other two episodes of the Vice Simpsons doc there is a YouTube account that has been uploading them in full. The 2nd and 3rd episode are both up to thousands of views without getting taken down, so they’ll probably be up for a while. https://youtube.com/channel/UCo0yjBLoRj1BdPD6leivu6g

Yea for Seattle! I’d make a joke about the rain but Sunday was the first day of rain since JUNE 18th. Unbelievable. What’s more, the Sunday prior us was over 80 degrees, lol. I’m a Seattleite all the way and love the rain!

Polls were fun, but understandable for the change....barbarian, you should not watch anything but the first trailer. The trailer does a good job of not spoiling anything...also if you've seen malignant from last year, that's a good similar movie.

Joe Murphy

In regards to the polls, totally understand the change. I think most of us agree we were happy with whatever ended up being chosen. (And BTW, I would always vote for the underdog not whatever was winning!)

I watched the first episode of the Vice series and thought it was okay, save for the production which, yeah, sucks. I suffered through most of The Toys That Made Us because it really didn't have any peers, but it was frustrating. I still have cable and the other episodes are on my DVR, but I just haven't got around to them yet. I saw some critiques on Twitter that the show was a hit-piece on The Simpsons, but I didn't really get that impression after the first episode. There's plenty of valid criticism that can be thrown at anything Nacelle does, but I didn't find that criticism warranted. I support you guys doing whatever you want with the movie podcast. If you're going to spend so much time on them, might as well make sure you're talking about movies/specials that you really want to talk about. I personally didn't vote in every poll as I didn't always plan to listen to them. It always makes me feel a little guilty because I know you guys put a lot of effort into them, but sometimes I just can't do 4+ hours on a movie I'm not that interested in. I'm going to try to make sure I listen to the Transformers one though. If Bob had to suffer through it, then I can at least let the podcast play in the background so that he didn't suffer in vain.

Why does everyone hate the year 2002 ? It was one of my favorite years!

littleterr0r

Welcome to the Pacific Northwest, Henry! You'll have to go to PRGE next year.

PurpleComet

I watched the Lisa the Boy Scout episode and it was like you guys said. Clever idea, but not many laughs. I enjoyed it overall. I also looked up Jennifer Hudson's version of Memory and it's good but holy shit does the CGI look even worse than I remember.

There is a Larry the Looter game! It’s inside Virtual Springfield though so I don’t know how easy it is to access these days

Congrats on moving soon guys.

Aidan fleming

Congrats on moving. On behalf of Washingtonians I welcome you and your husband.

If there is one reason to watch Near Dark, it would be because of Bill Paxton's performance.

Kat Heagberg

Henry, as a former Pacific Northwest liver, I can offer the following, which you probably already know, but in case not, I really wish I’d known these things before moving: - Don’t bother with an umbrella, the first rainy day will just obliterate it. Invest in a solid raincoat with a hood instead, and also “water proof” is different from “water resistant.” Go with “water proof.” - Do not purchase a wool coat no matter how nice it is. (Moreno wool socks, though, are useful!) - The winters kind of suck, but the summers are the most beautiful summers ever, and remembering that makes the winters feel better. - Top Pot donuts makes top-tier cake donuts. -Seattle public transportation (at least in the twenty-teens) was very, very nice and efficient. Unrelated to Seattle: I’m relieved about the polls! I DO usually get in late and end up voting for the most popular or second most popular thing because I enjoy participating, but also don’t want to be the lone weirdo who’s like “YES. ‘ROVER DANGERFIELD.’” I’m relieved to be free of this burden.

Near Dark is on the Criterion Channel right now

That Drew Barrymore cameo was the most shameless bit of star fucking I've seen in years. And what's with so much Marge in these new episodes? Making Julie Kavner talk this much should be considered elder abuse.

Congrats on the move! Washington’s great

Was it even a contest between Franeknweenie and Paranorman??????? I feel as though the Patreon subscribers here have pretty good taste.👍 And I never vote yes or no out of guilt Bob, you guys %99 percent of the time have tastes I agree with. And I deeply respect you guys no matter what direction you go in, even if I hate the animation or film in question.
