Hey everyone, how's it going? We already have the first update for SessionFlow! You all did an incredible job reporting bugs, requesting features and new widgets, and I tried to pack as many of those requests as possible into this first update so you can have a great experience in your weekend games. That said, this is not a critical update. We fixed some annoying bugs but nothing that breaks the module. If you install this update you'll have a better experience! But if you'd rather wait for the next one, that's totally fine too.
Here's the Changelog!
Bug Fixes
Color picker click-through fixed - Clicking the color picker or description field while editing a session, beat, or scene no longer navigates away and loses your progress. You can now click freely into any form field without fear.
Character widget duplication - Adding multiple Character widgets used to produce identical copies. Now limited to one per scene canvas to avoid confusion.
Character limit removed - The artificial cap of 8 characters per scene is gone. Add as many as your story needs.
Widgets stuck at panel edge - Widgets dragged too close to the top edge could become impossible to grab. The drag handle now always stays within reach, and any existing stuck widgets are automatically rescued on load.
Foundry UI accessible while panels are open - You can now interact with maps, tokens, fog of war, and the Foundry toolbar while a SessionFlow panel is open. No more backdrop blocking everything.
Shift+S toggle fixed - Pressing Shift+S while a panel was already open used to stack a duplicate Session Panel behind it. Now it works as a clean toggle: press to open, press again to close.
UI Scale setting - New slider in Module Settings (0.8x to 1.6x) lets you scale toolbar icons, widget headers, and panel text. Each player can set their own preference.
Double widget on add fixed - Clicking a toolbar button to add a widget was creating two instances instead of one. Fixed across both scene and character panels.
New Widgets
Progress Clock - SVG pie chart with configurable segments (2 to 12). Click to fill, choose between Pie and Dots styles, pick your own colors. Broadcast a clock to players as a persistent HUD, or flash it dramatically on screen for big reveals.
Faction Reputation - Track how your characters stand with different factions. Each widget is one faction with a banner image, a 13-level reputation scale (from Hunted to Exalted), and per-character sliders with inline notes. All 13 level labels are fully editable to fit your setting.
Time Tracker ("The Sundial") - A beautiful SVG ring that tracks in-game time. Set any unit (Turns, Hours, Watches, Days), configure a step size, and optionally add a secondary counter with auto-conversion (e.g., every 6 Turns = 1 Day). The ring fills as you approach the next conversion. Includes a collapsible history log with relative timestamps.
Journal Board - Pin your Foundry Journal Entries to a board with card and list views. Cards show thumbnails and text excerpts. Search and filter within the board, click to open the full journal, or show an entry directly to your players with one button.
New Features
Scene Canvas Templates (redesigned) - Six designed templates for scene panels, all featuring the Scene Image widget and organized with divider widgets. Templates include Classic, Storyteller, Combat Ready, Exploration, Social Encounter, and Blank Canvas. Save your own custom layouts as templates too.
Character Panel Templates - The character panel now has its own template system with vertical layouts designed for the narrower panel: Dossier, Quick Notes, Connections, and Blank Canvas.
Data Export / Import - Back up all your SessionFlow data (sessions, beats, scenes, widgets, character canvases, templates) to a JSON file, and restore it anytime. Found in the Session Panel footer. Your data lives in the Foundry world database and is never lost on module updates, but now you have peace of mind with manual backups too.Alpha Status (v.0.2) & Expectations
SessionFlow is currently in ALPHA. Bugs are expected. This is the phase where we identify and squash issues together, just as we did with my previous modules. Updates will be frequent, but I ask for your patience and kindness as we refine the tool.
TL;DR: If you need a perfect, bug-free experience, you may want to wait for a future version. I am putting maximum effort into making this the best module possible as quickly as I can!
