I’m getting ready to run D&D again, and that means making a lot of maps.
Actually sitting down and building those maps is what pushed the recent changes to MapForge. I kept running into bugs and little things that got in the way, so I started fixing and reworking them. But the tool was only part of it. I also needed a collection of assets that felt right for the places I want to bring to my table.
That is where W&W Wilderness & Campsites: Basic Pack began.
A patch of forest. A clearing. A tent beside a fire, with the small details that make it feel like someone has been living there.
1,323 assets for forests, clearings and life around the campfire.
Trees, shrubs, branches and fallen logs. Tents, campfires and ready-made camp arrangements. Flowers, mushrooms, rocks, ground textures and paths. Plenty of variations to mix together, all built around this small corner of the world.
The scope is still deliberately focused. This is a first taste of what is coming, and of the new look and level of quality I want to keep building toward.
A lot has changed along the way, including my process. I’m spending more time finding a consistent visual direction and testing how the pieces work together in actual maps. The big shapes matter, but so do the little flowers beside a log or the mushrooms tucked under a tree.
A note about the artwork: The asset images were created using an AI image generator. I’m not an illustrator, and I don’t have a studio of artists behind me. I’m one person, passionate (and a little obsessed), using these tools to help bring my vision to life.
There is a lot of care in this little pack. I hope it gives you a few places worth gathering around, and a small glimpse of where I want to take this next.
From one GM to another, thank you for being here.

Bring it to your table
The download below is the complete W&W Wilderness & Campsites: Basic Pack, version 1.0.0-rc.2, with 1,323 assets. It is a native .mfpack file, ready to import into MapForge. Keep it as it is; you do not need to unzip it.
How to import
Download the .mfpack attachment below and save it on your computer.
Open your Foundry VTT world as the GM, with MapForge installed and enabled.
Open MapForge and go to Assets.
Select MapForge Pack, then Choose MapForge pack, and choose the downloaded file.
Wait for the import to finish. Find W&W Wilderness & Campsites: Basic Pack in your asset library, then start building with its terrain, paths and objects.
Tested with MapForge 1.2.0 on Foundry VTT 14.368. The asset pack is a separate download; it does not install the MapForge module.
Try searches such as tree, tent, campfire, flower or mushroom to find your starting pieces.
