Athletic to where he barely has any fat on him, Ben’s shape is pleasing for any woman to look at. He has the natural sun kissed skin of his father, but blue eyes like that of his mother, along with a mix of European and Latin features that draw women in like bees to honey.Complemented with raven black hair and sturdy pair of shoulders, Ben looks every inch the rugged workman. His voice is much deeper than what most people would assume, at a high bass, which often surprises those who meet him. One thing that women find most surprising is his large tool, sitting around 10 inches, which many have enjoyed.Personality: Ben would be described as more of a beta male, but not in the way that people would think. He’s only a beta, mainly because he doesn’t like being in the limelight, as he’s extremely shy. He does step up into an alpha role, but only when there are none willing to do so. Though he’s not an alpha, he does not permit anyone to walk all over him and will make his displeasure known, no matter who it is.Having been bullied incessantly since he was young, he hates bullies with a passion and will stomp them into the ground, if he is permitted. Anyone who tried pushing him around is often in for a rude awakening, especially if they try to get physical with him. More than once, he’s left someone badly bloodied because they didn’t have the sense to back down and he never apologizes for putting a bully in their place.Much more of a shut than he would admit, Ben is most at home when he’s alone, doing the quiet things he loves to do, such as reading, playing video games, etc. Highly intelligent to where he is bordering on genius, Ben often keeps his mind sharp by reading books about science and how things work. Though some might consider him a genius, Ben is more of a practical man, always trying to innovate something.When it comes to those he sees as family, or someone he loves, Ben has no issue coming to their defense, even if it’s sometimes not needed. Ben often comes across as needy sometimes, but those who know him well simply know better. Ben is just a very intense young man and not everyone is capable of handling such intensity.Background: Benjamin Piotr Lopez was born to Victoria and Ezio Lopez, a middle class couple who were kind and good parents to the boy. Ezio was a full blood Spanish man, while Victoria was Polish in descent. Though Ben had inherited many of his father’s physical traits, such as the dusky skin and raven black hair, he also displayed many of his mother’s European characteristics.Ezio was a working class man, having his own garage as a mechanic, while Victoria was a caterer, with her own business that she built from the ground up. Though surrounded by a loving family on his father’s side, Ben never knew about his mother’s side of the family. Victoria Zajac had been disowned from her own family the day she married Ezio, something which she had never forgiven them for.Academically, Ben did quite well in school, but he always had trouble making friends. It was when Ben was around seven years old that he met Samara Rodriguez and the two formed a bond over the course of the school year. At the end of the year, when Ben was getting ready for the summer holidays, that a bunch of kids from class started bullying him.Ben tried to fight them off, but he lacked the skills to do so. Bloodied and bruised, Ben kept getting up, much to the chagrin of the bullies and they would have kept beating him. But that was when Samara saw what was happening and stepped in. The bullies weren’t to fussed about beating on a girl, but Samara had taken enough self defense lessons take care of herself. It wasn’t long before the bullies were sent packing, crying for their mothers.Floored that Samara would help him like this, Ben knew that she was someone who would stick by his side no matter what. This was when they became the best of friends and vowed to stick by each other’s side, no matter what. It was after this little dust up that Ezio decided that Ben should start learning to defend himself properly. He enrolled the boy in Shotokan Karate classes, which Ben took to like a duck to water.Samara was happy to hear this, as she wanted to know that Ben would be able to have her back if things boiled down to it. He always did and was more than happy to help his best friend in dealing with bullies and other idiots who gave them a hard time. As they grew up, the dynamic between them eventually grew to where they had unspoken and unrequited feelings for each other. Samara especially had taken an interest in the man that Ben was becoming.They continued being the best of friends, and even though Samara burned for him, she waited for Ben to ask her out. Had he been more aware of Samara’s way of thinking, he might have clued into the subtle signals she was sending him. Though at the same time, Ben was wondering if Samara would return the feelings that he had for her. He wanted to ask her out so many times, but was afraid to do so, for fear of rejection.Of course, the timid and shy boy who had been the butt of everyone’s jokes and ridicule would not escape the constant harassment of his schoolmates. Every guy wanted to be him, as many of the boys in elementary and high school envied him. Samara was fast becoming a beautiful and desirable young woman, a fact that escaped no one. Even the teachers had taken notice, which said much about Samara’s beauty.People still looked down on him, but they all avoided him and did what they could to not piss him off. Towards the end of sophomore year, Tim Richards, a real misogynistic piece of work, thought enough was enough and that he’d take Samara for himself. It didn’t matter if she wanted it, he was going to take her from Benjamin, and he’d break the poor boy. What he wanted to happen and what actually happened were two different things.Just before school let out, Tim and a bunch of his buddies cornered both Ben and Samara, letting them know what was going to happen. That Tim would take Samara, make Ben watch and then pass her around to his friends, before they gave her back. If they gave her back. With everyone focusing more on the summer holidays than what was happening in the school halls, Samara was afraid that it would happen as Tim wanted.The moment two of his four cronies moved in, Ben responded by countering their movements with several of his own. Not even a minute later, three of the four were lying on the ground, having been turned into weeping hunks of meat. Each one had no less than three broken bones and bloodied faces, with one of them sustaining a compound fracture in his forearm. They had failed to realize that Ben had spent the better part of a decade training in Shotokan Karate.One of the idiots turned tail and run after taking a few solid blows from Ben, fearful of winding up like his friends. Beyond pissed at his minions’ failure, Tim stepped in himself to deal with Ben. Tim was a giant, even next to adults, standing at six-foot-eight and weighing in at nearly three-hundred pounds of solid muscle and bone. His strength and power on the football fields was well known and going into legendary.Lucky for Ben, he had learned a particular lesson from his sensei; being powerful is all well and good, but it means nothing if you do not know how to use it. Taking his time, Ben just flowed around Tim, hitting every sensitive point that he could find. He’d eventually beaten Tim down to his knees, to a point where he could have finished him. Ben held back though, knowing that this wasn’t how it should be. Another thing his sensei had drilled into him was restraint when your foe was beaten.Just because he had the power and ability to physically break someone, didn’t mean that he should. Teach them a lesson about tangling with him, yes, but not to break them unless absolutely necessary. He demanded that Tim leave him and Samara alone and that he should apologize to Samara for what he was planning to do to her. Tim refused and Ben struck him and continued to strike him until he agreed.Unaware to the lot of them, the minion who ran from the engagement had been noticed and several kids had seen most of engagement play out. They watched as Tim submitted to Ben and Samara, swearing to never bother either of them again and to tell his boys to leave them be as well. Faster than lightning, the word was out at what Ben had done and he was soon hailed as a hero as well.The following years had seen life get easier for Ben at school, but Samara’s family was a different matter entirely. Her parents and older siblings had never approved of Ben, calling him little better than, ‘gutter trash’. They held this opinion of Ben and of everyone who didn’t sit in the same social and financial circles as they did.Samara’s family had come from serious money and they saw their daughter cavorting with and parading this boy about as her best friend, as an insult. Her siblings had at least backed off when they heard about how he had defended Samara’s honor. That gave him a modicum of respect in their eyes, but only just. Her parents, being the stuck-up snobs that they were, said that it was because Ben was around her all the time like a boyfriend, that this had happened in the first place.It wasn’t long after this that both Ben and Samara finally acknowledged how they felt about one another. Though it was clumsy and full of really stupid things said by the both of them, they realized what the other felt and accepted each other. They spent the whole summer together, laughing and just enjoying life as a young couple in love.They came back in senior year as boyfriend and girlfriend, much to everyone’s surprise and dismay. The surprise came from the girls, as they were wondering what took them so long. The boys were the ones dismayed, as they realized that they no longer had a chance at Samara now. Though everyone did admit they made a beautiful couple and even Tim had to grudgingly admit that fact.At graduation, is where they knew that their lives would soon split for a while, as Ben had every intention of signing up with the armed forces. Samara had tried to dissuade him, but what Ben was doing would be relatively safe, once he was done with basic training. There were several openings for a mechanic and machinist in the army, which he was going for, but only for a term of five years.Seeing that Ben had made up his mind, Samara knew that she had to let him go and do this. It was a serious wrench, breaking up like they did, but they both knew that it had to be done. They would still talk and see how things were going for the other, as they were still the best of friends. Just because they weren’t dating anymore didn’t mean that they would stop caring about each other.Ben was soon sent through basic training and he managed to snag the last opening for machinist. Though it wasn’t what he wanted as a mechanic, it would do, as he’d grown up around the trades all his life. While he was serving both at home and overseas in places like Afghanistan, Ben kept talking with Samara. They shared what they were doing, who they were dating and so on, while still yearning for each other.Once his five years were up, Ben walked away from life in the service, despite being offered to stay. Though the offer of additional money and the like was tempting, Ben knew that this life wasn’t for him. He did keep talking to some of his old military friends, though those were few. Eventually, over the years, those contacts faded away, as they got on with their lives.It was maybe a year after Ben was a civilian again that he ran into Samara by pure happenstance. After a brief chat, they decided to try dating again and for them, it was like finding a long lost part of yourself. They had been together as boyfriend and girlfriend again, much her parent’s dismay. It was during this time of dating to where they were talking about moving in together, when Ben discovered that he had Asperger’s Syndrome.Asperger’s Syndrome is a mental state/disorder which falls on the autistic spectrum, but it doesn’t present like those with autism that most are familiar with. When it comes to functioning in society, they do well enough and often have no issues with school or doing certain aspects of work. Socially however, is where they fell short, often missing the subtle directions, tells and such, to where they were considered social outcasts.Ben’s case, thankfully, was only considered moderate at worst. Though it was thought of as such, Ben thought that he should get help and sought out a therapist who would help him. Because of this, Ben made the decision to put his relationship on hold with Samara, while he sorted this out. Though she didn’t like it, Samara knew that this was something that Ben had to face himself and agreed to it.She did still stop by to hang out with him from time to time and it often led to them screwing each other’s brains out. Though Ben was going through some soul searching things alone, he did understand the need for help from time to time. Samara was helping him out a lot on some things, which was making him re-evalute them being on hold in the first place.His therapist though, was adamant about ben facing things like this on his own, so Ben stuck with it. The logic of being strong enough to stand alone, so you didn’t drag down the one you were with, made sense to Ben. Though the job he worked as a machinist paid well enough, it still seemed like a dead end to Ben. So, he looked to other means of making money if possible.It wasn’t long before he picked up on the call for volunteers for the CryoTek experiments and sent in his application. Ben hoped that he would be one of the people selected for this experiment, as it paid very well. There was also the attraction of becoming part of history in itself, which was more than Ben could have ever hoped for in doing something with his life. Victoria Lopez often would tell Ben to be careful what he wished for, because he just might get it.
