In some ways, they were almost like Joker and Harley Quinn, if they were ruthless vigilantes who only punished the guilty. Cristania smirked at the analogy she had made in her head, thinking it a fitting one. Their little gambit of targeting only the wicked seemed to have worked, as the Blood Reaver never troubled them again.

“Crissy? What are you doing here?” a familiar voice called out, snapping Cristania out of her thoughts.

“Delivering bad news, Maddy,” Cristania replied, looking at her friend as she approached.

The woman she was speaking to was a vampire like her, one Madison O’Roarke. She had classic Irish features and was the very epitome of a leggy blonde with blue eyes. Madison also had curves that some would have thought impossible without surgery, but that was all her. Her tits were massive, nearly as big as her own head, and her ass stuck out in such a way that it looked like it was begging to be slapped.

The way Madison carried herself made you think of a woman who was a whore or slut, and she looked the part. Especially with the slinky red cocktail dress she wore that night, which struggled to contain her lush body. She stood tall, nearly six feet in height, towering over most women and men, which was often accentuated with heels. Her face, which was normally smiling, was set in worry as she looked at her friend.

“Bad news? I heard some bullshit about the Blood Reaver still being alive, so what is the real bad news?” Madison asked.

“That is the bad news,” Cristania told the woman seriously.

“Oh, come on! That is a bit terrifying, but it has to be a joke! I mean… oh… fuck! You’re not joking?” Madison gulped.

“I wish I was! Learned about this straight from Aldrich!” Cristania informed her friend.

“Oh… shit…” Madison sighed as she processed this new information.

“My thoughts exactly!” Cristania stated.

“Excuse me, ladies?” one of the guards asked as he approached the women.

“Yes? What is it?” Madison questioned, looking down at the guard haughtily, while also looking like she wanted to devour him alive.

“New orders from Lord Darius. All vampires are to pair up with another vampire and live in one another’s domiciles. Whichever way works best for you, as long as you are both in agreement. There is also to be a nightly call in, at least until the threat of the Blood Reaver is contained, or neutralized,” the guard told them.

“Thank you!” Cristania told the man, and he bowed his head before rushing off to tell another cluster of vampires.

“Hmm! Not as bad as I feared it would be!” Madison commented as she thought about the idea. “Did you want to pair up, Crissy?”

“Us? Sharing a place together?” Cristania asked, a little surprised that Madison would want to pair up so readily.

“Why not? It would be just like the old days,” Madison told her with a smoldering look.

“Ummmm… not quite. You see, I have a human boyfriend now. A serious human boyfriend,” Cristania told her old lover.

“Which you still haven’t introduced me to! I swear Crissy, it’s like you never plan to share that man with anyone!” Madison humphed.

“Oh! Is that why you wanted to pair up with me and not Ragnar and Rolb?” Cristania accused, referring to the Nordic vampire men Madison was fucking her way through recently.

“It’s not… the only reason,” Madison almost whispered, shying away from Cristania.

“Well? What is the real reason? Spill it already!” Cristania demanded.

“I… I miss you. I remember all the fun times we had together way back in the day. I want to have days like that again! I miss my Crissy pie!” Madison said with a pout, while giving her former lover a soulful look.

Cristania was floored by this confession and had to admit that there were days and nights where she missed Madison. She had a good thing going with Joshua and didn’t want to ruin it. But she did know that Joshua had some kinks in him that neither of them had touched off on. They were taking things slow since they met, not wanting to rush into things they weren’t ready for. Maybe it was time to speed things up a bit.
