Some players have complained about the fact that the hide window function is disabled in this game.

For those who don't know exactly what it is, it's a basic Ren'py function that allows the player to hide the game's windows (such as the dialog window, for example) by pressing H.

At first, we replied that we would better evaluate the possibility of restoring this function in the next patch, but we came to the conclusion that it really won't be possible, here's the explanation:

Enabling this function would cause some problems and break some features that are part of this game.

This Ren'py function doesn't just hide the dialog window, it hides all windows that are currently displayed on the screen.
Some features that are important in this game, such as Secret Cards, work with overlapping windows. To explain further, although apparently there is nothing else on the screen when a Secret Card is present in a scene, in reality, the Secret Cards are in an invisible window that overlaps the scene.

To understand better, look at the 2 images attached to this post:
In the part highlighted in red, there is a Secret Card, which normally appears while the dialogue is being shown.
When the dialog is hidden, using Ren'py's hide window function, consequently the Secret Card also disappears, because the window responsible for displaying it has also been hidden.

In addition, this would also lead to bigger problems, such as making clickable objects during Exploration Mode unclickable, or hiding the UI completely.

For the sake of the good functioning of the game, we'll keep the Hide Window function disabled, due to the reasons explained in this post.
Unfortunately, there is incompatibility with important features that are part of this game.

An extra detail: We noticed that, despite being disabled, in the help section, the text of the buttons referring to "Hide the User Interface" continued to be shown.
This small inconsistency has been fixed and will not be present in the next patch.

We hope we have clarified this question and given a satisfactory answer as to why this feature was disabled, as some players seemed a little bothered with this.
We're sorry, but it's necessary to keep it disabled.

Best regards!
