I went to bed with a great deal more comfort after getting my dick sucked by Lesty. And here was the thing. It was all to clear to Malty by morning also learned that Lesty had 'earned' more favor with how Lesty was being more physically affectionate.

Trying to pass me snacks, offering to carry some of the supplies I didn't keep in the spatial storage inside the Legendary Spear.

Every motion Lesty made made Malty... Seeth as she was ostracized in our group.

And as for Malty herself? Did she run to join another of the Legendary Heroes? Would they even accept her after she so blatantly tried to get Naofumi ruined by calling him a rapist?

I was the only one who would 'accept' her. Even if my acceptance resulted in me smashing her head into a table when she showed any backbone.

Still, it was a new day, and it was time for some power leveling as I planned for us to leave the capital city and head more out into the countryside for several days.

Malty... Wasn't happy at the thought of camping and living in smaller inns or renting rooms in general. But her opinion obviously didn't matter as the rest of the girls knew that to get stronger for the Waves.

It wasn't going to be a comfortable life in return for power.

But with my decently sized party. It's not like I was going to have us just walk. So I also quickly got a horse-drawn carriage... And as for why I didn't get a Filolial? I was going to wait a bit to get more money to try to get Filo herself as an egg.

"Now... How are you two feeling?" I asked Raphtalia and Atla, the two younger beastkin girls who were sitting in the carriage across from me.

Atla smiled a bit weakly before she said softly. "My hereditary sickness has lost some of it's grip upon me Master... Thank you for your kindness."

While Raphtalia said quietly. "Yes... Thank you, Master, I can breathe without issue now."

Unlike Naofumi, who had to treat Raphtalia for days if not weeks to bring her up and deal with her lung infection. I wasn't a pariah in the world, so I was able to get actual potions and high-quality herbs to make medicine using my spear to heal the two.

Whereas Naofumi had to scrounge for herbs on the side of the road and in the nearby forests.

Either way, I refocused on the more complicated issue with Changli, who gave me a knowing, helpless smile as she waved her an arm nub in my direction.

"I can't help your arms just yet, Changli... But even still, we can put a dagger on the metal nubs so you can get exp to level up." I said thoughtfully before I added.

And hell with your phoenix bloodline, perhaps you, yourself, will be able to heal yourself as you level up and gain skills through the slave growth system.

Then Rino, the commoner adventurer who was the only member of my party with actual combat history, spoke in confusion. "Why do slaves get such a bonus in stats for becoming a Legendary Hero's slave? Are we going to need to become slaves as well to save the world?"

My face twitched at her honest confusion and while I would love to say that this world was just made in the image of a man who had probably gotten cucked in high school and couldn't handle the thought of a woman actually getting away from him.

I could only say helplessly. "The only explanation I have, is that it's a bonus to help prevent a hero from being killed by a party member who betrayed them."

There was a pause before Raphtalia spoke with some distress in her voice. "Master, we would never betray you! You are trying to save the world!"

And yet. I could only sigh before saying quietly. "Sadly, this world is not so kind. Already, the Shield Hero was betrayed and had to flee from this country."

The carriage went silent. With Rino and Alice quickly glancing towards the front of the carriage, where, past a wooden wall, was Lesty, Elena and Malty, who were taking a turn directing the horses.

Then, with a low roar rang out in the distance, and Elena in front called out. "There is some monsters in the nearby forest!"

I shrugged, and with a hop, I jumped out of the back of the cart with my base Legendary Spear, transforming into the Rabbit Fang Spear, which had a jagged triangle tooth for a spear point.

And its special ability was a flat twenty percent to my speed and reaction speed.

"I need to master more spears to get weakened passives and stat points." I mused to myself as from the nearby forests came a dozen kangaroo-like monsters that had giant fists with spikes for knuckles.

They were level fifteen monsters who could jump around and move quickly while throwing strong punches that could do a lot of damage... If they could get to me.

My spear had a longer reach, and besides Naofumi, I countered these monsters particularly badly, allowing me to harvest a good wave of EXP while the girls also got some kills in.

Then, after a bit, I grievously wounded a few of the monsters, making them unable to fight or move, before I spoke out. "Raphtalia, Atla, come over here."

The two younger beast girls quickly approached with Raphtalia guiding the blind Atla across the uneven ground and past the corpses of the other monsters.

I looked at the two and then I dragged over one of the dying monsters over before I called out. "Rino, come over and steady these two. They need to get their first kills."

Rino nodded in understanding, and she sheathed her long sword before she kneeled behind the two and put a large dagger into Raphtalia's hands, before she said something quietly into the tanuki's ear. I then dropped the twitching monster onto the ground in front of her.

I watched as Raphtalia battled something within herself. And I held back a wince at how I saw her fighting her fears and memories of her family and friends being killed by monsters as well.

And finally, something inside of her broke and with both hands she slammed the dagger into the skull of the dying monster with a meaty cracking noise.

Then she paused... Before screaming and stabbing the monster another three times, I leaned down and put a hand over hers, making her finally stop and look at me with blank eyes.

The rest of the party went quiet with Rino holding Atla a bit after pulling her away at seeing Raphtalia snap... Just a little bit.

I gave Raphtalia a good headpat before I whispered into her ear. "You will become strong, Raphtalia. You won't lose any more friends or family with your own strength."

All the while, I could see Malty's disgusted expression at how I was comforting Raphtalia.

But I couldn't help an inward thought. 'I wonder how she would react to learning she and Atla are basically first cousins?'

That would for sure be a very interesting reaction, I am sure!

Then, after giving Raphtalia a light hug, I got up and helped Atla do the same. Though she, on the other hand, didn't have any issue killing a monster.

So with the two little beast girls done with their kills, I looked to Changli and asked curiously. "So, how about I tie a dagger to that metal nub?"

And Changli nodded, with her saying in a calm voice. "That works for me. I could also just focus on kicks until I can get a staff attached to my arms to cast magic."

That was a fair point. Changli did say she was previously a caster, and was, in her own words. Proficient in the use of fire magic.

Still I helped her also tie on a digger with a belt I shortened and let her get a couple kills, which gave her primary EXP.

But by then, Malty was clearly fed up, as while the girls loaded up the materials I didn't need after using what materials I could to unlock more spears.

She 'cornered' me while we were away from the large carriage and cart.

"Why are you supporting those... Little animals so much!?" She demanded with a hiss.

Though it was a very quiet hiss as Malty didn't dare to get more attention to herself with how much she had been browbeaten down lately.

Instead of answering her, I asked curiously. "Malty, when does your mother get back home to Melromarc?"

She paused at my question.

Clearly confused as to why I asked it. But she sniffed and folded her arms under her large leather-clad breasts and pushed them up as she cocked her hip and said in annoyance. "She will be back in two weeks at most. Now answer my previous question, Jake!"

I gave Raphtalia and Alta, who were being loaded up into the cart by Elena, a softer look before I looked back at Malty and said easily. "They aren't going to betray me. They aren't going to be... An issue."

Malty's face flushed as she sqawaked in outrage as she hissed out. "You are blaming their filth being here on me!? I never betrayed you!"

My lips twitched as I shook my head with a helpless laugh, leaving me. "Haaa, Malty, Malty, Malty... There is a reason you got passed over to be heir of this kingdom. You have the worst qualities of a ruler. Stupid, petty, casually racist, arrogant, and worst of all... Delusional."

I honestly expected Malty to explode and I was going to have to beat some more sense and obedience into her.

And for a split second, I saw her hand on her sheathed sword tense. As well as a ball of fire flicker into her free hand.

But while her emotions raged for a hot moment, she merely smiled with poison in her eyes as she asked quietly. "Oh... And what is delusional supposed to be then?"

My lips smacked as I remembered this was just a fantasy world without a strong field of research. Especially for mental issues.

Still, I shrugged and said casually. "Being delusional is basically living while having wrong beliefs and a skewed world view that clashes with what is called common sense."

There was a pause before Malty threw back her hair and said arrogantly. "Sounds like the words of the poor. I am not wrong in my thinking because I... Will be the next Queen of Melromarc! My opinions as Queen will thus be mandated law!"

I gave Malty a simple smile as I saw Lesty wave towards me as the rest of the girls got in the covered wagon.

And then, before she could reac,t I just patted her head and said softly. "It's alright Malty, even when your mom tosses you aside. I will support you."

I didn't wait for her reaction. I just walked past and got into the carriage without saying anything to Malty as she walked past the carriage to climb into the front seats closer to the horses.

Then, as the carriage was going, I absorbed all the information of my level-ups. I felt Atla who I was sitting next to, give me a light poke to get my attention.

So I leaned down, and she whispered into my ear as she felt my head near hers. "Am... Am I a problem for you, master?"

I couldn't help but smile as for now. Yes, yes, she was indeed very much dead weight.

Still, I just patted her knee and then whispered back into her tiger ears as the conversation about the monsters picked back up.

"When we can, I will try to pick up Ki sensing to teach you. And as well as that, I can learn magic from Changli and Elena as well."

She nodded with a firm expression crossing her face before she said. "I won't be helpless for long, Jake... I won't disappoint you, master."

'I just hope she doesn't latch onto me as much as she latched onto Naofumi... I don't want the little tiger girl sneaking into my bed.' I thought helplessly as I gave Raphtalia, who was pouting at me, giving Atla so much attention, a quick head pat and scratch behind her adorable ears.

Saetil

Atla is one of the girls with great waifu potential. She just needs to level up enough to evolve from loli into waifu.

Orchamus

Preach, Atla and Raphtalia best girls.

This sentence is grammatically incorrect: Every motion Lesty made made Malty... Seeth as she was ostracized in our group. It should have a comma in between the two mades like this: Every motion Lesty made, made Malty... Seeth as she was ostracized in our group. I made this mistake a lot myself which was why I spotted it.
