Great Great Asset Chapter 33 (Patreon)

After another three hours of searching through the library, I only managed to 'pull out' two more magical skills, which also burned up the books that were consumed to iron in the skills into the Gamer system.
The two skills were a simple mana reinforcement skill, as well as a 'Fire Hands' skill, which did just as expected in making fire cover my hands that didn't burn me that I could use to attack others at close range.
Not exactly the best skill with how squishy I was. But it would give me options, especially seeing as the Mana Reinforcement skill was such a strong foundational skill I could use for a long time.
So it wasn't a total loss of time.
Though after reading the books I considered asking if Lust knew about Alchemy from her own home universe... And after a moment of thought, I shrugged and went to ask her.
"Excuse me." I asked quietly with Lust looking up from her romance novel with a bored hum before she said calmly.
"Yes, is there something you want?"
To which I asked rather bluntly as I knew that playing around would only earn her disdain. "I was hoping you could teach me the magical form of Alchemy from your universe. Is that possible?"
Lust blinked and then said rather blandly with a light shake of her head. "No, I cannot teach you even if I wanted to. I never had interest in alchemy as my talents were always in social warfare, spying, and assassination."
For a moment I wanted to ask how was that even possible. As the Homunculi were all tied to 'Father' who was one of the most powerful and learned alchemists of that universe. Then I recalled inwardly that at least in the show of brotherhood.
I had never seen any of the Homunculi actually use alchemy. They always used only their own special talents that came from being a homunculus.
So I just nodded slowly and said. "I see, then I am sorry for interrupting your reading."
And I made my way with Akitsu following me as I inwardly thought. "FMA alchemy isn't useful unless I make a deal with Truth anyway. So it's not a major loss." I thought.
Plus... At least the Alchemy from Amestres the main country in which FMA takes place, used the power of tectonic shift movements to power their alchemy. In this hellscape of a universe that was countless shattered worlds fused together, could I even use such alchemy to begin with?
So maybe it was for the best I didn't bother. Inside my cheat shop, I could buy it as well, though it was very expensive. Which wasn't surprising, as it could give you immortality, even if it was a rather shitty version of it.
"Hmm, what now Jake?" Akitsu asked quietly as I left the library.
With a hum, I looked at the analog watch on my wrist that I made sure to keep locked into this realm's day cycle anyway.
"Probably need to make some lunch. You want to come help?"
Akitsu nodded and gently took my arm to hold it against her very ample breasts as she silently just waited for me to pull her wherever I wanted to go.
And seeing as it was close to lunch time anyway with all the time I spent looking for skill books and actually getting magical skills.
I took us to the grocery store/storage area and got to cooking a hefty lunch.
Though seeing how everyone else was seemingly busy getting ready for the trip to go see Tabane in the next few days in their own ways.
I quickly fried up some chicken and rice for protein, and for sides I made up a giant salad, chicken alfredo pasta, and a thinner red wine beef soup with light vegetables so the flavor wasn't too hearty as a side.
All in all, making the lunch only took me forty-five minutes, and afterwards, Akitsu and I went back to the courthouse, where I decided to just chill for a good bit.
"Musubi is probably dealing with some of the native spirits that may have respawned." Akitsu said with a hum that made me shrug before I asked curiously.
"How strong are they?"
To which Akitsu shrugged and said bluntly. "Not strong. They are human-looking fairies that can fly, they have some weak charm magic... They are vicious, though, natives bad, remember." Akitsu finished with a firm nod to remind me.
And after seeing the next door wasteland that was filled with Supermutants, and the next realm over having giant cockroach men in Terrarformers... I wasn't going to argue on that point.
After a moment of thought. I decided to make a move, actually. "Hmm, I am going to go find Mutsu to see if she can help me learn some mechanics or forging."
As the OG Gamer's most powerful ability wasn't his insane mana regeneration or ability to shape spells or likewise to come up with spells.
No, it was his ability to mass-produce magical weapons and such once he got skills to enhance his forging and other item creation skills.
And not even magical weapons was his most powerful 'tools' either. Those elemental familiars did a lot of the heavy lifting, especially the earth elemental that allowed him to make an army of god-level golems to conquer other pocket worlds and such.
Akitsu gave me a thoughtful look before nodding and she said quietly. "Ok... Have fun with Matsu. Make sure she showers before joining us for bed tonight."
I couldn't help but chuckle at how blunt Akitsu was as I asked helplessly. "You think she is going to jump me so easily?"
And Akitsu looked me dead in the eyes before she said in a deadpan. "I think that Matsu is a pervert. And she is more likely to take more advantage of you than you would ever consider taking of her."
Then she shrugged and said simply. "But Matsu is strong as a Sekirei... She will make you stronger. Go wing her, Jake. I am going to make sure Tsukiumi doesn't come after you for a couple of hours."
I patted Akitsu's head who just gave me a dopey smile as she looked up at me as I patted her head. Then I leaned down and gave her a kiss that made her icy wings flare to life, and her eyes go hazy with love as I said gently. "You be good the,n Akitsu. I am going to get going then."
