The Red Priest and Blue Slime Chapter 46 (Patreon)

I had several thousand people relying on me to keep this city-state/alliance of races together. So, no matter how much Milim bitch and moaned.
I HAD to get to work doing paperwork, especially as King Gazel Dwargo, of the Armed Nation of Dwargo, next door' had sent a large amount of ore and other materials I had to sign off on.
And likewise, in return for the trade of special ore materials. We sent back the highest quality of healing potions, a few of my own skill elixirs, as well as a large quantity of staple foods that had to be checked and stored properly to be transported back to Dwargo.
"Aye your grains are definitely of a high quality, I plan on takin some of them myself and seeing if they can make some good beer." The leader of the guards for this trade caravan spoke as we were finishing the inspection of the large trade deal.
I hummed thoughtfully before I asked curiously. "Would Dwargo be open to purchasing magical spirits... As in alcohol? I do have magical reagents which could make for some interesting booze, I am sure."
The head guard laughed and nodded with a grin. "Sir, the Armed Nation of Dwargo is made up of more than seventy-five percent dwarves, another fifteen percent are humans, and the rest are other races. We will never say no to more booze haha!"
I nodded and idly wondered if I could recreate the Fire Whiskey from Harry Potter that would allow someone to breathe fire for a minute... Actually, that would be stupidly easy, I just add a tiny, tiny amount from a fire breath skill elixer and bam, it would have that property.
The biggest issue would be time if I didn't do some magical fuckery as it took a good amount of time to properly age a good whiskey in that case.
In either case, I shared some good conversation with the dwarves before their caravan began to move off to make the trek through the Jura Forest and back to the Armed Nation of Dwargo.
"Heh, if anything, I should be charging you guys for using the roads we built through the forest and having the protection of the dyrads, which keeps the monsters from the roads." I muttered to myself before I looked up to gauge the time.
'Hmm, just a bit after midday. I already got my paperwork done early, so let's check in with Souei.' I mused thoughtfully.
"Souei, anything interesting happening in the forest?" I asked as I plucked one of his invisible strings that hung low to the ground with my foot.
There was a pause before a zipping shadow formed in a kneeling position just off to my side, and I looked down at the ninja/spy ogre, who said solemnly. "With the late summer, monsters are becoming more vicious, and Treyni's dryad's are having issues keeping them off the roads using mere deterrence."
I hummed thoughtfully before I smacked my lips and said. "You know what... I could use a good stretch. Souei, please tell Fenrir, Sif, and Shion to meet me at the front gate with some supplies. We are going to go on a couple day little cleansing mission of monsters."
Souei nodded and faded away into the shadows as I began casually walking towards the front gate of Jura City.
My casual walk meant that by the time I got there, my giant Star Wolves were next to Shion, who had her giant sword at the ready. "What are we cutting down, my lord!? I am ready for anything!" Shion said proudly.
To which I chuckled and said, "That's up to Souei, who is in charge of guiding us to any issues."
And honestly, Souei was the most valuable member of the Jura Federation's military side of things. Because not only could he make shadow clones, but his endless wires that filled the Jura Forest acted like spider webs, he could move his mind through to sense what was going on when something with dense magic touched those wires.
Souei's deep cool voice rang out from below Fenrir's own shadow as he said. "There is a large swarm of Murder Hornet's tearing trying to push through a dryad's farm plot, a half dozen miles to the north, away from here."
I nodded as those private farm plots controlled by the dryads were for specific, very important herbs that I needed for my alchemy. And I only trusted the dryads with them. Because I had all but addicted the dryads to my elixirs by accident at this point.
"We make for those murder hornets then... We need to deal with them all as we have a lot of large farms around Jura and they are just bandits with built-in stingers." I said coolly as I climbed onto Fenrir's back, and I patted my own version of Ragna, who was his rival as well.
"Keep up then, little sister... You, after all are carrying a good bit more weight, haha." Fenrir laughed at Sif who was carrying Shion and her giant sword.
And I just laughed as I knew this dumbass wolf was going to get his ass beat the moment we got back. As Shion and Sif both were giving him dark looks that promised brutal consequences for his words.
We soon made it towards those murder hornets and Sif/Fenrir's storm magic soon torn them out of the air. Their fragile insect wings couldn't withstand the storms they conjured, and when they were brought down to the ground. The horse-sized wasps were burnt to death by my flames.
"Thank you sir! Those things have been haunting me for days!" The dryad thanked me but then she looked a but helpless as she said. "Actually, I know this is rude, but could you help me with something if you could."
I waved a hand, casually nodding as I saw the orderly plot of herbs of mine she was carefully taking care of. I was happy to help if she actually needed something that wasn't too crazy.
She explained that she needed a moment to get something and we waited for a couple of minutes as she phased back into her giant red oak tree, and she came back out, dragging a massive beetle that likewise had a large honey bee atop its back.
The large dark beetle's carapace was utterly ruined in several places, shattered by blunt forces and sharp points in others. While the honey bee had lost two of its wings as well.
"My lord, these majin, helped defend my farm this morning from these wasps. I was hoping you could heal them at least." The Dryad said with hope as she looked at the two insects with pity.
I, however, froze at seeing the giant beetle as I recognized the poor bastard! He was the future 'Zegion' a die-hard follower of Rimuru in the canon timeline who was talented and hard-working enough to become one of his three strongest followers.
His being an equal to one of the strongest primordial demons meant that he was a subordinate I had to get for myself, obviously!
Even if Apito, that honey bee woudn't be nearly as strong she was still useful beyond strength. When she became a divine bee, she could produce divine honey and control endless tides of wasps, bees, and other types of bee monsters/majin with her divine authority!
So with a solemn nod, I said firmly. "Alright, but seeing as their exoskeleton's are so broken and ruined. It's going to take some time."
As I wasn't Rimuru, I didn't have the ability to fuse my body into theirs and merge magical metals into their exoskeleton to make them stronger as their exoskeletons were fixed.
I lifted up a hand and the purple and black flames of the Yatagarsu came to life before I tamed down the flames and removed the element of destruction within it with my power as the Red Mage and it's essence.
"First, you two need to drink this elixir, and this one... Oh, and this one as well, ehh might as well give you this one as well." I muttered as I carefully poured skill elixirs to help them with various skills like regeneration, fire resistance, magic resistance, and diamond body into their gullets.
Which let me tell you... A giant beetle and bee's mouth's so close to my own face was something to remember.
But soon enough, with those skills, keeping them alive properly. I got to work as I began melting some magical metal I had in my pocket storage to reform their exoskeletons while they were fully unconscious.
