Pokemon, Multiversal Streamer Chapter 31 Alt POV (Patreon)

'War, war in these days were far. Far worse then the wars back a few centuries ago. As humanity progressed, so did their ability to make terrible war upon one another and the standards of high-level trainers got even better.' Sabrina thought
There was a reason why all of the Gyms of the Kanto region, even if they weren't directly tied to Team Rocket or otherwise taking marching orders as Lt Surge did. They were all to some level, following Giovanni.
Only Giovanni could lead the trainers of the Kanto region with both the strength and charisma to protect this region from the other regions... Because the combined Elite Four of the Johto and Kanto regions were all in favor of the Johto region itself because the Kanto region was 'weaker'.
The Indigo League's Elite Four consisted of first of all Loreiei who was an Ice specialist who fled her home Hoenn region when she got uppity with the local dragon clans and they tried to kill her and almost succeeded.
Second was Bruno, born, raised, and tied to the Johto region and his dojo. With him being a monster of a human being who could use both Aura and Lifeforce to fight champion-tier Pokémon with his bare hands.
Agatha was nominally part of Kanto's politics, and her successor, Karen, was also from the Kanto region. But both of them were utterly insane even by her own standards as they were true masters of Ghost- and Dark-type Pokémon.
Even if Sabrina could mentally crush a fellow human's will, their very self of self to make them into but a doll to be thrown into a toys chest. Agatha hadn't walked through the war with Johto and the several wars with the Galar region by playing nice.
Her Gengar had poisoned and eaten the souls of thousands of sleeping soldiers who had invaded our shores. And her infamous Mismagius was known for partly phasing through people in the trenches before abruptly pulling their organs out of their bodies, before running away with a haunting screech of laughter that traumatized whole battalions.
Karen, Agatha's disciple and her clear successor, was also clearly insane for trusting her dark-type Pokémon, even if she didn't 'seem' to have Agatha's sadism that fit so well with her ghost-type Pokémon.
"Can't ever tell with Agatha and Karen though... Their dark and ghost-type Pokémon shield them from my mind-reading." Sabrina muttered to herself as she patiently waited for a response.
After using Foresight to check in on Jake who was in Cerulean City. It was... All to clear that, that Haunter wasn't just some random one that happened to be roaming the city's nighttime.
For one, each city besides special ones like Lavender Town would have several psychic types roaming around with Officer Jenny's to keep any local ghost Pokémon from going around and hurting people.
Finally, a loud ding rang out and Sabrina's closed eye's opened up and saw that Giovanna was calling her.
And with a harsh click she opened the call with Giovanni's quiet but cold voice ringing out.
"Jupiter is here in Kanto. She is here to take Galactic's target back to the Sinnoh region."
Sabrina paused at that before she asked bluntly. "You have had plenty of time to look into it. Why, why do they want Jake Bariss in particular for being a psychic?"
Giovanni was quiet for a moment before he said in a light drawl. "I will explain because it could possibly involve you as well. Their plans to catch the three Lake Guardians of Sinnoh in order to control the Time and Space Legendaries has hit a snag."
"It turns out... That making years of planning to catch several linked psychic legendary Pokémon who can see into the future with their foresight and other abilities is not that easy."
"The three legendary Pokémon have hid themselves deeply within their lakes in a spatial pocket of psychic energy no psychic Pokémon can break. Only a human's psychic energy can actually touch the barrier."
Sabrina snorted and said rather flatly. "And that nihilistic fool Cyrus is the farthest thing from a psychic. And there is no way he would allow a remotely strong psychic into his own faction with his obsession over total control of his surroundings."
Giovanni let out a light hum before he said blandly. "Quite."
The sound of glass clinking rang out with a loud buzzing, and Sabrina knew it was Giovanni's core Pokémon in his Beedrill that was bringing him a drink.
An old scotch from what she collected of his habits via the Team Rocket members who were stupid enough to enter her city.
"So while it is... Very unlikely, keep an eye on yourself Sabrina. Because if Jake becomes too hard to find as he moves between cities. Cyrus may just come for you himself. And while you are Elite 4 level. You are not Champion tier." Giovanni said before cutting the line, leaving Sabrina there.
Sabrina's mind whirled at that threat to her future and with a frown she pushed her own psychic energy as she sought to see the future. Only to realize all that quickly that the tides of the future were mired in dangers beyond a couple of weeks from now.
There was a moment of silence as she processed that information before she considered calling Lance or even Professor Oak to tell them to go deal with Cyrus. She as Giovanni so helpfully pointed out wasn't at the level of a champion-tier trainer.
So why not just throw the problem of Cyrus and his goal of destroying and remaking the world into the hands of the foolish dragon master. And that lazy retired Pokémon professor who loved to pretend his hands were clean after becoming the strongest trainer in the world.
