Super Gene Ascension Chapter 35 (Patreon)
Content
Days quickly passed by as I went full murder hobo cave man to feed my waifu all the Sacred Blood points I could get her.
Typically, for medium-sized animals here in the Sanctuary, you would get about five to seven points because there were a lot of parts in an animal you did NOT consume for a variety of reasons.
I mostly didn't give a shit; sure, I wasn't going to literally eat an animal's intestines filled with filth, and their brains because... Ick. But damn near everything else? I would eat with a grimace after boiling the bones and ligaments for a good while.
Which is why I got eight to nine geno points from everything I killed most of the time. And while it took some effort to break down the bones and such into powder before boiling it. I made sure she also was getting the max amount of geno points for each thing we killed.
This process, although efficient, did put a good bit of strain on Mio. Not because she was a fussy eater or anything so pathetic. No, people who wanted to become strong in the Sanctuary literally couldn't be a vegan pussy.
But she didn't have the One Piece style and especially the Monkey bloodlines' extreme stomach of vibranium as I did. I could and did regularly eat some nonsense that would make other people sick, like eating venom sacs and other goodies.
"My tummy hurts Jake." Mio said tiredly as she leaned against me with her head tucked into my arm.
We had just finished a lovely meal of Flying Leaping Scorpions, which was a race of Sacred Blood tier scorpions that had the lovely ability to jump really high in the air and glide at high speed using wing-like webbing between its eight legs.
And while they were highly venomous with their stingers and had sharp spiked pincers that could also inject venom into whatever they pinched. They were also only the size of an oversized rabbit, so we could actually eat the vast majority of the creature in just one sitting.
"I am proud of you being able to eat the scorpion at least. It's a lot different compared to just eating some crabs I pulled up from the river." I said softly.
But Mio snorted and said tiredly. "Heh? Different? Those mutant-tier crabs could shoot water arrows that could shoot through tree trunks. These things are just filled with deadly venom and can fly a bit. Crabs and scorpions barely look that different anyway."
Whelp, that was a fair point all things told.
Mio took a deep breath before filling my hand that was resting on my knee with her own hand. "Jake... How in the world are you so strong? Even with maxed-out Sacred Blood geno points. No human, even the scions of demigods themselves, aren't able to just punch another strength-type Sacred Blood creature to death."
But her question was more rhetorical; she didn't expect a concrete answer... Until I decided to be honest. As I wanted her to max out her Sacred Blood and even if not max them out. At least get some Super geno points.
Because just maxing out all Geno Points to the Sacred Blood level gave the geno warrior a 'Sacred Body' which made cultivating their geno martial arts with elemental and conceptual effects in the next sanctuary and beyond. Far easier.
Maxing out your Super geno points would likewise give you a Super Body, which had a whole plethora of benefits.
"Mio, I am going to tell you an extremely important secret that I need you to promise not to tell anyone else for at least a couple years."
I took a deep breath and continued. "Beyond the tier of Sacred Blood creatures are Super tier creatures. And only with luck, skill, and understanding can you actually absorb Super geno points which aren't absorbed from eating the animals flesh."
Mio went still as I talked about the Ant Queen whose ants killed dozens of members of Qin Xuan's expedition forces. The super-tier Sonic Tiger that killed Han Sen and several dozens of humans that tried to go after it.
"I need you to be quiet for a couple of years about this, Mio. Not solely because I want to hoard this secret for myself. But also because... So, so many people will die when young masters like Son of Heaven and Qin Xuan throw the lives of their subordinates against such a creature."
I exhaled and said helplessly. "In a couple of years, we will have gotten a lot stronger, strong enough that we could sell off our Super tier beast souls from this first level sanctuary so that they can be studied and used to collect more in turn."
"I understand Jake. I understand, I won't tell anyone. I am not tied too deeply to the Qin clan's interests with how distantly related I am, so don't worry about me selling out this secret." Mio said softly as she squeezed my hand between her own.
Then, with another squeeze, she asked with a deep inhale of repressed hope. "Can, Can I still become as strong as you, Jake? I don't want to be left behind when you move to the Second Sanctuary?"
I gave a thin nod before I said thoughtfully. "Strength... Such a thing is very relative. I can punch things very good, damned well in fact. But when some Geno martial arts allow you to manipulate causality to avoid attacks and do other nonsense. It all just depends."
I then internally flexed my muscles in my chest, feeling out that slight ache I had from a Sacred Blood tier Anemo Rhino who could expel jets of air to enhance its speed from its body rammed into me.
Even now, even with my extreme strength. I was still very much of flesh and blood. I didn't have some magical bio forcefield like Superman did that made him immune to a certain level of damage completely.
"Has your application to the Black Hawk Military College gone through by the way?" I asked as I remembered that she hadn't told me anything about her application. Whereas I got mine damn near instantly in an acceptance with proof of my talents.
Mio let out a tsk as she said helplessly. "I haven't even gotten a reply yet. It's not like I am literally the acknowledged most talented youth on this planet at college entry age like you."
Ok... I could do with a bit less of the sass in her voice but that was still a fair point sass withstanding.
Mio let out a loud squeak as she gave me a sharp but adorable look as I gave her lovely backside a good swat to not be so sassy.
But after a minute of her pouting against me, she spoke up thoughtfully. "So, you think the leader of that centaur tribe is also a Super tier monster as well?"
I nodded before saying. "I am fairly sure. The fact that she, the matriarch of that tribe, is more than twice the size of the others, even the females. Along with having a clear magic/elemental ability, along with a bloodline-based aura ability to boost her tribe?"
"Yeah, it's likely she is a Super tier creature."
I popped my neck to the side a bit before I gave her backside another squeeze and said more seriously. "I will deal with the matriarch and the female leadership of the tribe. You just need to land hits from range to secure kills and rights to consuming the meat to gain points."
Mio was quiet for a long moment before she said with a heavy exhale. "I don't know how you do it, Jake. Sacred Blood creatures are always dangerous enough as it is. Now there is a whole new tier above them, which explains why so many strong people who thought they were going after just Sacred Blood tier hunts... Never made it back."
I didn't have a response. I got my own major head start in Super points with how I took down that Ant Queen to say the least. When I mentioned I was afraid of people throwing their lives away at Super tier creatures. I wasn't lying in the slightest.
If that Golden Lion Beast wasn't worn down by literal weeks of interrupted birthing labor, injuries from its fight with the Sonic Tiger, and it itself not thinking I was strong and was given a fatal wound from the get-go of our fight.
Even with my current strength right now. I didn't think I could kill that Golden Lion Beast in its top form.
Our little break from our hunts was over. It was time for the home stretch as it were. With several dozen Sacred Blood tier creatures and one Super tier creature. We were going to be set on Sacred Blood geno points at this point anyway.
The Centaur Tribe was based a good distance away, in another forest past the grasslands where those giant ants were. So even while riding Woody who was running at a good speed.
It was only past dawn when we arrived at their infamous set of woods that was known for being highly dangerous.
Because there wasn't just one Centaur tribe in the forest. And with each Matriarch being a super-tier creature, supposedly. It explained all too well why people avoided that forest.
This forest was filled with giant ever so thick tree's that reminded me of the giant California redwoods of my old life. Trees thicker than some buildings and most often, even taller than all buildings that weren't inherently a skyscraper.
"Beyond just the roaming Centaur tribes. What else is in this forest, I wonder?" I muttered as the high and thick tree cover made the actual forest floor on the darker side of things.
My question was answered in the form of a rock being thrown at us from the tree's above us by some monkeys.
Their aim was decent enough, but it was clear that they were very low on the totem pole in this forest as the moment we shot arrows back and stuff, they just hide back in the tree cover while screaming.
After half an hour of following a more recent trail of hoof prints that obviously came from a Centaur tribe. Mio pointed out. "It's certainly possible that these Centaurs actually pushed out most of the other hostile life forms here in this forest. Their tribe like unity would allow for such a thing."
That was a valid point, honestly.
And her conjecture looked to have proven true after roaming around and besides those monkeys living in the trees and other things that specifically lived up in the trees, like giant spiders and other insects that liked to drop down onto us.
The base level of the forest was completely empty.
But the base level was clearly the most dangerous as we finally caught up to the tribe we started tracking.
"Jeez... Over thirty damned Sacred Blood creatures in one spot, and also having enhanced almost human levels of intelligence in the females and probably human level in the Matriarch. No wonder this place is a dead zone." I remarked with a bit of weight.
Because while I was strong. These Sacred Blood creatures were strong themselves, and had both intelligence and the ability to condense magical arrows as well.
And that Matriarch... She was fucking massive! The horse section of her body was even larger than a bull elephant, with thickly corded muscles. Her horse body's fur was a lunar silver, and she had glowing silver antlers atop her head with golden star lights at the tips of her antlers.
'Ok... Still, would.' I thought as her human upper torso and face were also a delight to see. Massive milkers each that weighed more than my entire upper body, and while her body had several scars, the scars were reflected off the glowing light of her antlers.
"Jake... Don't stare too hard at those." Mio said dryly with her giving a light snort as even she with her own large breasts, couldn't match something well-endowed and being more than three times her own size.
I opened my mouth to deny... But, yeah there wasn't exactly much I could say. Then I froze as Mio added helplessly. "Actually Jake, I had an important question. You can't be willing to eat these Centaur's human halves are you?"
"Uhh... Yeah, that's not happening Mio. I may be willing to do eat some nasty stuff but their level of humanoid is too damned high for me to be willing to consume their flesh." I said bluntly.
Then I looked back towards the monsters in front of us that just happened to have a somewhat human form. And after a thoughtful exhale. I said quietly. "I am going to challenge the Matriarch. Don't start throwing obvious attacks for a good while."
When Mio looked angry at me 'sidelining' her. I shook my head and said firmly. "These Centaur's have much higher levels of intelligence. When they see a predator directly challenging their leader. They might just leave it up to the leader."
Well that. And I was relying on the leader seeing my own Aura beast soul active and thinking I was a challenge towards her directly.
