While some would be offended at the mere notion that their fates were decided for them. Or that people could see their future, which was determined. I knew for a fact that fate could be broken by sufficent power.

After all... Rosaria was 'supposed' to have Voldemort as her eternal enemy for the next seven odd years of her life. But Lily Potter decided to do some taboo shit, and in a moment of untold agony and supreme power.

She shattered fate, prophecy, and the ordainment of the divine itself as she for a brief moment, reached chief Pantheon levels of power. Where she then utterly destroyed Voldemort's entire existence.

But now she was living a cursed life where she suffered for breaking fate, and attaining such unnatural power. Still, it meant that it COULD be done.

"I bear... No ill will for Lingsha and you Kalleli, for your talents in prophecy, divination, or whatever else you want to call it." I spoke firmly as I shook my head.

"Besides, with how you saw that, we would naturally make such a contract. Correct me if I am wrong... But I imagine you two have been watching out for me each night or something since then haven't you?"

The three other women paused at my note before Kalleli and Lingsha shared a look before Kalleli said slowly. "To an extent yes we have tried Jake. But, I must warn you Jake... Stop looking upon the full moon and embracing the stars upon the Great Lake."

"The Great Lake itself is a portal to a small world itself where many water-based spirit beasts live. And the deepest, darkest depths of our sea is something that matches the unknown horrors found within the stars that reflect above us."

My lips twitched as I recalled the moon smiling back at me with a face full of bloody teeth. Too many eyes filled with maternal madness, and a silver glow that made me taste blood within my ears.

"I will try. But I cultivate in the greater secrets of the stars. My qi points are stars, my blood is becoming silver starlight, and my heart is to become a black hole to absorb endless qi and magic from my surroundings. It is hard to separate what I am from what looks back."

Lingsha smiled softly and closed in so that we were only inches apart before she said slowly.

"I know Jake, I have see in it in fact. I have seen that as you tame the sun chaser, you will ascend greatly in power. Your heart flame will burn ever brighter, and my own power will be a bloody foundation in turn."

That was... Unusually unhelpful in a form of offhand prophecy. And I knew all to well that asking questions would likely get me nowhere. So I took a breath and asked the pressing question.

"Lingsha, I desire a contract with you. You will protect my body from harm, be it from monsters and other enemies. In turn, I will save you centuries of effort to cultivate to your full potential." I said as I released my magic in a flood around me.

There was a reason why this world's magic users weren't allowed to practise their magic until they practically became an adult. Our magical cores were just too unstable and powerful compared to 'canon' Harry Potter magic core's if they were even a thing in canon at all.

The threat of our uncontrolled magic literally making our bodies explode into a bloody mist was a very likely thing to happen before the cores had time to truly settle as our bodies slowed their natural growth.

So when I flooded the surroundings with my magic, it was very apparent: starlight glowed from my skin, and my eyes reflected a crimson fire like a star.

Lingsha's own dense mana entered the surrounding beach as a slow exhale of dark water that rushed past my legs. All the while our mana merged together as we both output our complete selves in our mana as we made a final step towards one another.

And just as Mavuika explained more than a couple months ago. A spirit beast and wizard contract was a thing built into our very nature after millennia of this practice being something almost every single wizard ever did.

It was something that at this point that the the concept of magic accounted for. Or... An established 'Dao' pathway as our magic merged together.

Then Lingsha's colder but soft-scaled hand met my own. Our fingers slowly intertwined, and I could feel her heartbeat ever so powerfully and clearly as our palms met together.

And in unison, our voices merged together as we said together. "Two, have become one."

That spark of heat, the spirit beasts' overwhelming vitality compared to a wizard, entered my body as my own cultivation speed's talent was ever so slightly transferred to Lingsha in turn as our magic folded in on itself.

My magical energy stores increased with the massive increase to my bodies natural strength. Growing in depth by more than five times, and my output increased by more then three times, certainly more when it came to using water based magic and Lingsha's own talent.

I let out a heavy exhale as I understood now why those second-years with their magical contracts were so surprised and horrified at how I still managed to beat one of them, regardless of my next loss.

Our hands slowly came undone with Lingsha's wide smile showing how happy she truly was with our contract as in the hand that was once conjoined with my own. She held up a mote of starlight that drew her mother Kalleli's heavy gaze.

Still I was more focused on the massive physical difference I had undergone even with how Lingsha's talent in straight combat in physcial strength wasn't exactly the best.

And Professor McGonagall cleared her throat to get my attention as she spoke. "I am glad that your contract went well Mr. Bariss. Would you like to spend some time with Lady Kalleli, and Miss Lingsha? Because I must return to the castle to return to my own engagements."

Looking back to Lingsha in turn, she nodded, but Kalleli said in a firm but helpless tone. "You are not the only one with responsibilities, Minny. Lingsha, you can make your way past the Veil to get back. Don't go further onto the Castle Grounds as you well know. But do remember to teach Jake, your summoning method."

'Wait... Why does this feel like the 'adults' are just giving us space to have a play date?' I mused as Lingsha in the time her mother sank back to the water and I glanced back to my teacher to see her teleport.

Snuck up and took back our once conjoined hands like it was perfectly natural!

But as I felt her scale-covered small hand filling my own... I felt like I was back in the snake realm, and there were countless tiny, harmless garden snakes glaring at me for some reason?
