"Hmm hmm! And what is my 'beloved' student doing on the moon without me!?" Luxanna demanded as she glared at me with all but tears in her eyes.

I smiled helplessly as I said honestly. "The less moving parts, the less chance of us all dying out in the harsh vacuum of space, teacher. I only brought Ren, because he only has to worry about his head remaining safe, after all."

Giving Ren a dark look, he shrugged helplessly and said. "Lux and Cinder came down here into the basement to collect some extra materials. They coudn't help but notice the row of monitors displaying what you were doing."

There was a pause before Lux took a deep breath and said with a cough. "Jake, ok besides being the first person on the moon. And everyone who practises any kind of lunar-based magic or astral magic begging for the ability to go there. WHY, why did you decide to go to the moon?"

I looked at Lux like she was crazy, before I said bluntly. "There isn't a church on the moon, there aren't any Mistralians on the moon. And most importantly, there is no Grimm on the moon."

The room went dead quiet as even Ren didn't account for the fact that I went through all... All of this effort to have a hidden area where I didn't need to worry about some asshole messing with me and mine.

Because with even the simplest magical runes, even I, with no deep education of the magical system of runes, could slap down some simple runes that would solve any major problems for living in space.

Gravity runes could easily make my lunar base at the same level of Remnant's gravity. Wind runes could blow out fresh air. Freezing runes would deal with any heat buildup from the nuclear reactor, as well as preventing the sun from turning it into a oven.

"Still... Why didn't you tell us? I would have loved to watch you step onto the moon Jake." Lux said with a pout and clear betrayel in her gaze.

I gave Lux a dull look and said flatly. "Lux, if you knew. You would have forced your way through the portal see what it was like on the moon, even if I didn't have a space suit for you."

Taking a deep breath I said more seriously as I looked between Lux and Cinder. And I was relieved to see that Cinder although slightly digruntled at not being able to see this historic moment. She didn't blame me either as she knew exactly what kind of person our master was.

Luxanna Crownsguard was a genius for sure. But she was still very childish at heart; she rarely considered the consequences for her actions, as she has always had massive backing behind her to clean up the minor messes she would occasionally stir up on accident.

But a single tiny mistake in space exploration could be a death sentence... And unlike back here on Remnant. We can't have our souls thrown into a new body or something with the help of Calia.

Still, I reached into my pocket dimension and pulled out a large packet filled with lunar soil and rocks. And I offered it to Lux and said with a grin. "Still, it's not like I didn't think about you anyway. I am sure this will be quite helpful."

An evil grin formed on Lux's face before she cackled as she said. "Yes! Yes, it will be very helpful indeed! That witch Calia is working on making a new giant monster. And literally fresh lunar ore would be a perfect reagent for it haha!"

In other words. Lux was planning on cleaning Calia out on other resources in order to barter for that lunar soil... Something I just shoveled into a magnetically sealed ziplock bag basically with not even two minutes of effort.

Callia was going to strangle Lux if she ever found out.

'Don't worry Lux, my beloved teacher... I will jump between you and Callia. Instead of you being strangled, I will accept being smothered by the goth mommy's milkers.' I mentally swore.

Cinder then cleared her throat and asked with a slight frown. "Jake, how public do you want this to be? You're making stable landfall on the moon when everyone else who has tried died. Is indeed major news and something that 'Should' be celebrated."

It was actually something that should be celebrated. Something that could provide ample morale to the rest of the world when it's explained that there is NO Grimm on the fucking moon.

I exhaled a bit and thought for a moment. After the moment of thought, I decided that having the entire moon as my private retreat was... Just a bit much, admittedly.

I only needed half the moon, really.

"I guess that we should tell the world actually. But I will say right now, that I am not going to play ferry for a bunch of people to go live ultra-luxurious lives out on the moon." I said firmly.

Lux rolled her eyes and said flatly. "Jake, I may not know too much about space travel and what it's like to live on a moon base. But I can tell that every inch of space is premium. Do you really think that clans and noble families will be competing for a bunk bed when they still live as kings here on Remnant?"

That was fair admittedly. The rich and powerful of Remnant had even fewer scruples to show off their power then in my old world.

"Then should we go tell Ozpin, or Miss Goodwitch?" I mused aloud.

Luxanna gave me a searching look before she said. "Jake, I think you should approach them on your own. Let the world know that you, yourself have done this. If I approach them, or it will look like I also had a major part in this as well."

Then she paused and, with a throat clear, she pressed. "Actually, Jake, that lunar base you created. Is it ready for people to step into at this point?"

I nodded and said thoughtfully. "The lunar base? Yeah, it's habitable at this point, technically. I still need to furnish it's interior and set up some communications systems here to communicate with it. Besides that, yeah, I could open a portal into it right now."

Lux took a breath before she said firmly. "Jake, go to Ozpin and explain that. Tell him you can literally take him to the moon safely. He will help you from there."

'Lux want's me to build up my own connection with Ozpin, I see.' I mused to myself thoughtfully before I nodded in agreement.

After telling Cinder and Lux a bit more about what it was like on the moon with its much lower gravity. The conversation naturally came to an end after Miss Goodwitch responded to my message asking to meet with her and Ozpin about something very important.

I then left Lux's tower and made my way with purpose towards the main campus building where Ozpin's own clock tower was. Which was where he typically lived when he wasn't doing time-stop shenanigans to humiliate and torment his enemies.

Once I reached the top of his clock tower, I saw Miss Goodwitch and Ozpin sitting across from one another.

And seeing me Ozpin came me a small smile before he asked casually, before taking a drink of his coffee.

"What is the emergency you asked us both to convene for you Jake? Has something happened with the church or your Silver Eyes?"

I took a deep breath and said bluntly. "I made a stable habitable zone on the moon with my portal semblance."

The room 'almost' went quiet. The silence was filled with Ozpin coughing on his coffee before his form flickered as he reversed time on himself to the point before he even picked up his cup of coffee.

But even still, Ozpin and Goodwitch were both staring at me in disbelief.

So our boy is the moon king

Finally! Ozma choked on his coffee!

BlindOracle

He should declare himself the first king of the moon then abdicate his throne. Seeing that in the history books would be hilarious.

Moon life for life!! Wonder how much he gonna charge to live there? 😂
