Super Gene Ascension Chapter 41 (Patreon)

Becoming an evolver meant that I now actually had true supernatural power beyond simple superhuman strength and durability. Using the Yang portion of the Yin/Yang blast's energy, I was able to cook up the meat of the Glazed Geeko I killed.
"These things even taste better." I muttered, as the actual quantity of the meat for this Glazed Geeko was on the better side even for its bloodline quality.
[Ordinary Geno Point's Gained +5] Sadly for such a small lizard, if I didn't eat all of its organs and bones. It was hard for me to get all the geno points out of it.
There was a richness in the air of the second sanctuary that made all too much sense when you considered how the spirits needed that very same 'magic'-rich environment to live properly.
My large soldier ant made a quick pace across the seemingly endless desert as I pointed him towards the Dongxuan Sutra.
And for better or worse. Thing's were quiet as we traveled through the rather cold desert that was well lit from the countless star's shining above as well as the luminous moon that cast everything in a silver light.
Things finally came to a head as I saw what was almost certainly my ultimate destination. A lone singular mountain jutting out of the desert's surroundings that clearly leaned towards the direction I needed to head anyway.
"Almost reminds me of Pride Rock from the Lion King movies." I muttered towards myself as the mountain was covered in deep shadows that outlined it almost perfectly.
Almost in answer to my words, the sand's below me and my soldier ant mount roiled and I threw myself into the air and dismounted the mount as a set of large pincer's snapped around where the ant was.
'Giant scorpion!" I thought with a scowl as a horse sized massive scorpion pushed up through the sand and charged at me as I backstepped; its stinger extended longer than its length suggested!
With one hand, I grabbed the joint right behind the stinger and its venom organ. And with the other, I took out a Sacred Blood tier dagger, and I stabbed the tail of the scorpion making it hiss furiously and rip it's tail backwards!
I rode the motion forward, and as it tried to catch me with it's two large pincer's. I yelled before I activated the Super Body and with both Haki, and the Yin/Yang Blast.
I punched the flat side of the pincer that tried to cut my body in half.
A loud crack rang out as my fist of 'Love' shattered the exoskeleton of the scorpion and ruined the internal organs of the massive pincer as parts of it were flash-frozen. And the other's were charred to a crisp.
The scorpion forced itself backwards; it was a hunter who knew that any further fighting would just lead to more wounds on me with how it's ambush failed.
But even as it backstepped away, clearly wanting this engagement to stop... I didn't stop! I didn't hear no damned bell!
"You don't get to run away like that you oversized spider shit!" I yelled out, laughing in annoyance as I summoned the Golden Lion Beast's Aura Beast Soul and rushed in.
It tried to snap at me with its pincers again. I punched it's pincer again on it's flat side making it howl furiously as the Yin/Yang Blast's elemental infusion affected its hard armor I could barely crack.
Then, with a yell, I grabbed its stinger as it launched at me again. Holding that deadly, venomous spike in hand, I slammed its jagged, venom-leaking spike directly into many eyes and then elbow-dropped the top of the tail to drive the spike through its skull!
[Venom King Scorpion Killed. Consume to gain 1-10 Mutant Geno Points] [Venom King Scorpion. Mutant Tier Beast Soul Gained]
"It's gonna be a bitch to eat you all up." I cursed as I gave the scorpion a kick before I leaned down and ripped off one of it's legs.
Then, leaning back against the large scorpion, I basically microwaved the inside of the armor-covered leg for a good twenty minutes before I took one of my... Non-toxic daggers and broke it open to start eating the leg's meat.
And after a few bites, I just stared at the scorpion leg before I chuckled and said. "Hey... If I had some garlic butter, it's basically just a crab leg at this point!"
I mean, the whole reason scorpions had the whole ilk factor that spider's had. Was the dark and scary look they typically had. While crab's were brightly colored and, most of the time, very much already dead and processed when we had them.
I kicked back on the scorpion's corpse as long crunches rang out as I started to radiate a powerful heat which started to boil the water and other fluids inside of the scorpion.
With such heat, the steam pressure building up inside its body would randomly break out of its body as I enjoyed what I was calling some desert 'King Crab' in my mind.
It took a couple of hours, but I managed to consume the majority of the scorpion's soft inner flesh, except where the meat was ruined by the venom. And other digestive organs I wasn't going to mess with.
Then I continued my path towards the lone mountain whose roots became all too clear as the pinkish sand gave way to rough basalt and marble that my boots didn't sink into.
Following the innate direction I had for the Dongxuan Sutra, it led me directly to a large cave entrance that was clearly man-made.
'Whelp, into the breach... Hopefully my sponsor isn't a complete asshole, and there's not a Sacred Blood or Super tier creature down here.' I thought helplessly as I reached into my satchel and made a small torch so I could see inside of this pitch-dark cave.
