Another round of redesign for the playing card backdrops (for the pip/number cards specifically). They'll be significantly more faint in actual use since there will be art on top of them.

If you catch me trying to redesign these yet again, just please slap me until I stop.

I'd buy a deck with these designs... no, really, I would. And I'd buy them for friends and relatives. Gee, imagine kings, queens and jack characters from the comic... YEAH, you'd make a million! Seriously, talk to a card company. Please!

Oh my gosh, this is incredible!!! I can't imagine anything more stunning :-) Does this mean you will be redesigning the cards you have already posted (such as Zib/King of Hearts, Rocky/8 of Spades, Serafine/Queen of Spades, Ivy/Queen of Diamonds, Wick/King of Diamonds)?

Thank you! I'll have to do a little work on the existing face cards to bring them more in line with these stylistically, but they'll otherwise remain as they are. The intent was to give each face card a background styled specifically for the character appearing on the card. The backdrop for the 8 of Spades will be changed, but not the artwork of Rocky.

I love the symbols in each! Diamonds with proud peacock feathers and sparkling stars, Hearts entwined with roses, leaves and sharp feathers, Spades with ominous thorny marigolds, bones and a skull... And of course Clubs with daisies. So beautiful!

I understand the humor in your "slap me until I stop" phrase but your creativity is an incredible gift and I would hate to think that ANYthing could or would put the brakes on your work! And the "Lackadaisy Dandelion" below is one of my all-time favorite pieces of art. Still hoping for a print some day.... Glad to be one of your most devoted fans!
