Here’s our first glimpse at what it’s like inside one of those huge Tandrax orbs. As you can see, It’s not so bad living in space when you bring all of the comforts of home with you, and the Tandrax are replicating their home across hundreds of thousands of star systems.

This scene will become a lot clearer once I add the colours and the finishing touches, I know it might look a bit abstract and hard to tell what’s going on as it is, so I’ll try to be back with those as soon as I can.

So the tandrax made the entire ecosystem of there original homeworld microgravity adapted?

Nice now actually is the original homeworld with the original homeworld tandrax are they still around but not common or it's all gone?

No one knows, not even the Tandrax. Their origins lie so far in the past that all records are lost. They have only a rough idea of their home star’s location, inferred from the concentration and age of surrounding Dyson swarms. In the distant past, wars were fought over claims to this origin point, as it would confer authority as the empire’s seat.

I can already tell this is gunna be a certified banger, pretty fucking dope that they’ve essentially made their own mamodaes but in the harshest environments of space little pockets of paradise

Wasnt expecting the interiors of their satellites to be chock full of life, honestly a very pleasant surprise! Its always a treat to get to see the various aliens' homeworld flora and fauna. Makes me think, it would be awesome to someday get go see a teeming universe-style exoloration of these wacky biospheres

I know right! Initially I was going to have it be all sleek and sterile, but then I thought, you’d definitely want to bring a bit of home with you to keep yourself psychologically sound at the very least. Then I got to thinking about those famous O’Neil cylinder illustrations, I’m sure you’ve seen them, where they’re mostly filled with parks and greenery, and while that may not be the most realistic prospect, the Tandrax with their vast habitat orbs could definitely have parks and even wilderness. Space as we think about it today is a rather uncomfortable and claustrophobic place, because those few that do get to experience it must do so from within a small modular spacecraft or EVA suits, but for a near post scarcity civilisation with an abundance of living space, having wild life in your enclosure would lead to it feeling much less like a confined and restrictive place and much more open, comfortable and homely. Yes! I absolutely intend on producing a book of that sort in the future

Hell yeah! I think it was definitely the right choice. After all, advanced technology and society doesnt necessarily equate to sterility. I think its good to acknowledge that embracing and working with nature instead of exploiting it is a necessary step in a more sustainable future, after all, for humans or for other civilisations. Also, would be excited for whenever that day comes!
