Probably the best metal texture that I’ve drawn to date, but I am kind of kicking myself because now I’ve got to replicate that across the whole scene 😅

Very nice. The masks do not disappoint. Also, do the Thraxa have eyes?

I like how the light reflects off the metal and how the staff glows purple in the light! Also, the wavy, bio looking Tandrax architecture looks similar to biology like the biotech of AM but also that of Deicide and the other rebel Over-Fathers, but Deicide armor with its sharp edges sort of contrasts with the look of the rest of the room. Perhaps this shows how the Tandrax and Deicide are similar in that they both face the Imperium, but also makes Deicide seem a bit out of place. Perhaps this hints that Deicide is different from what the Tandrax are used to, and they may think of him differently or in suspicion as a result, even if what he says is reasonable. I wonder, is the high council itself composed of Tandraxian psionic monks? And what do the monks think of Deicide and the other Over-Fathers? Perhaps the monks have either been advocating for joining the war against the Imperium because they've had to cloak Star-engines for a long time now, or perhaps they are vehemently against the Over-Fathers as they can sense how powerful they are psionically and see them as a threat. I may be misremembering, but did you say at one point that Tandraxian monks are not as powerful as Over-Fathers but that very rarely there will be one that can match them? Have a good day!

Thank you! They do indeed, they have panel like eyes which form a sort of x shape, hence the shape of the mask. You get a good look at them in page 251 (issue 8, volume 2).

Thanks Erika! Good analysis, the Imperium and Tandraxian empire mirror one another. Deicide is certainly out of place just about everywhere he goes given that he is an over-father, But to the Tandrax, they never interact with any aliens, so anyone in his position would be just as equally out of place. The high councillors aren’t psionic monks, the psionic monks really are monks, they live apart from society in insular monasteries. What do they think of Over-fathers, they view them with awe and fear. They definitely understand the threat that they pose, as you said. That’s right, you remembered correctly, no other psionically adept individuals within a species come anywhere close to the enhanced weaponised psionics of an Over-father. But while an individual is no match, perhaps an entire order of psionic monks could give an Over-father a run for his money. Thank youu, and you too ☺️
