Sad Daddy

Take care of yourself first and foremost dude. We will be here.

Shawn Bond

“Your Grace”? Interesting…..

Andre Martins

Wow! I love the organic ship concepts. Yeah, hand seat is (good kind of) weird. Also the residually human crew…

CallumStephenDiggle

Thanks so much, I just don’t like keeping you all waiting. It’s really good for me having all of these eyes on me because it gives me the drive to get these pages out regularly. It’s pressure but it’s positive pressure. I’m taking care of myself mate, thanks for your concern 🙏

CallumStephenDiggle

Yes, losté is at the centre of what is almost a religion for the allied post-Humans. The allied post-Humans have free will and Losté takes the place of a quasi-messianic figure in their emergent culture.

Jana Alshammari

Hello I wanted to ask what brushes do you use, I assume on photoshop? Thank you.

Valter Fara

The fact that those ships, monsters buildings and each piece of organic matter the Imperium has is human, that's very unsettling

Planetace

I would assume they use the human template as a foundation and add on multiple layers of other organism DNA as recycling the best of other races. such as cat night vision, owls ability to rotate necks 180* etc etc

Marcos

The ship is awesome. The use of the human hands as sits is weird but makes sense taking in count how flexible they are. I love this page. It reminds me of the zergs from starcraft and the reapers from mass effect. I wonder how that engine works, looks like a nuclear reactor but I can't imagine a biological one.

Robin Bruce

How did Uthipidus go about creating that mask? Was he creating it from the ground, his body, or a bit of both?

Voligne

So they are post humans? What exactly does that mean? As their tech is all... human based... are they human themselves or are they intelligences piloting meat puppets? I know I would prefer the robo route if I went post human...

Cartoon dinosaur

I cant even tell what I'm looking at but it is vary gross. nice work!!!

Charlie Horse

You really have to stop and think... I wonder what kind of technology is REALLY possible out there? Biotech vs machine and a mix of both. We probably cant really imagine how crazy stuff could get.

zuccubus

Vile. I love it.

zuccubus

Oh o do have questions though. Does this thing eat or does it have a direct fuel line kinda deal? What’s the hull plating made out of? Are these things grown or built and if grown, what are they like when they’re young? Also are they intelligent?

CallumStephenDiggle

It does eat yes, you see that ridged bit at the front of the creature? The bottom third of that opens up to form a mouth, it can consume any form of organic matter to gain sustenance. As for fuel, the beast of burden has a crystalline flux containment reactor in its abdomen. they’re grown, as for when they’re young, they go through cycles of growth and metamorphosis, like a tadpole to a frog. they are but not in the same way that we are, they have the intelligence of a mule but they far out class us with mathematical prowess and reaction time.

CallumStephenDiggle

Anything that can happen, will happen, given an infinite universe. Yeah things could get hella crazy out there!

CallumStephenDiggle

It just means they are a stage of Humanity beyond us, it’s a general term for non-Human descendants, whether that be via evolution or trans humanism. Deicides post-Humans have free will yes, the Imperium however are the meat robots you described.

CallumStephenDiggle

A bit of both, it’s one of his unique abilities, he can transmute and manipulate matter through touch. You’ll see more of it next issue, to lethal effect I might add!

CallumStephenDiggle

Thanks, Marcos! Yes I can tell you those series were an inspiration for me growing up. it’s a crystalline Flux containment reactor, it uses exotic Flux particles like I explained in the final pages of issue 2 If you remember? Only this reactor is grown and Flux particles are introduced into the containment reactor once the ship is fully grown.

Jana Alshammari

Oh really that's great to hear thank you!

Miningation

Would YOU climb the meat tube?

Ignis

The pilots sitting on those hands look so creepy, it's awesome! Why hands though? And can operators dismount? The attack boats design is killer btw. What does it attack with?

Rafael Trujillo

Using human parts in something they're not used to being in is inherently unsettling and uncanny, but if you're looking at it from an industrial optimization perspective, it makes sense. If there's one thing I've learned in biology, it's that nature and the genome hates making original geometry and systems; they always want to repurpose other templates for other systems into whatever role it's meant to be, like the hand seats or the intestinal lining for the interior of the ship. It also doesn't hurt that most organisms on earth share a decent amount of genetic material with eachother, so a hyper intelligent AI could feasibly fuse them together to make a highly efficient machine.

Alexander Carbo

Okay, wow. I love the ship design here. Everything about it is incredible. I can’t wait to see where we go next

Oz Hickman

The eyelashes on the cockpit 😖

House Hendoe

I love the Alt Designs for the resistance! Now I know they're at number disadvantage against the All-Mother, but did you take that into account with their design? On paper what advantages/disadvantages do they have against their counterparts when it come Armour, Weapons, Endurance, Genetic tweaks made with Conglomerate aid etc?

HrskY

What is this gas that is coming out of the chantauri's mask?

CallumStephenDiggle

Oh that’s just waste heat and smoke generated from Uthipidus transmuting the matter of the concrete into the mask.

CallumStephenDiggle

Thanks man! Well it varies in every field, the Deicide allied analogs of the Imperium designs are generally speaking, designed for the same capabilities and scenarios, with some variation of course. The attack boat shown on this page can obviously enter into a VTOL (as shown) but it is better equipped for travel along a horizontal plane. Whereas the imperium drop ship (the imperium equivalent of the attack boat) is designed mainly to leave the hangar of a kraken and descend vertically to deploy troops, supplies and other “vehicles”. Both engage each other effectively in aerial combat though. The attack boat outguns the drop ship but it presents itself as a larger target, it’s all a trade off.

CallumStephenDiggle

Thanks as always, you’re on your way to meet the big guy in the flesh (Deicide) atop his fortress on the world eggs precipice.

CallumStephenDiggle

Thank you! The answer is because it looks creepy aha yeah they can get out of the chair at any time they want, the chairs correspond to the various turrets around the vessel. Energy Ordnance and biological missiles.

HrskY

Ok, thanks!

Ryan

Okay I again didn’t get a notification this page is absolutely awesome, and Callum I hope everything is okay family/real stuff comes first we’re not going anywhere dude

Ryan

Of corse mate, you ever need to chat/vent I’ll lend an ear you know that, anyway the page is absolutely insane I love the detail of the vehicle

Ignis

That's so kick ass! I hope we get to see some action with these boats. I'd love to see what a bio missile would look like and what other bio warships look like. Also...did that mask literally materialize from the ground??

Max Fuller

Do you any medical background? Your attention to anatomic detail is exquisite.

Akdov Ton

Considering how much excess heat must be made while this creature is at full operation does it have a sort of heat vent? If so where is it situated? Is it based on nay human biological processes? Do they clip the hand seat's nails...?

CallumStephenDiggle

I imagine the wings can double as radiators for venting waste heat. aha umm 😅 that’s a good question about the nails that I hadn’t though about to be honest. Is it possible for the dna of the ship to be regulated such that the nails can hit an approximate peak length and stop growing? Surly that’s possible with all the manner of genetic engineering going on with this beast.

CallumStephenDiggle

I do not, just what I have educated myself with online. Thank you though!

Max Fuller

Some of your artwork reminds me of the sketches in Gray's Anatomy. :)

Hayden Noble

Take care of yourself first Callum Diggle. We’ll still be here.

Hayden Noble

I’ve always loved the idea of Bio-ships in Sci-Fi. I see it as kind of a going forward by going back to basics if that makes since. Going from riding animals for transportation to mechanical means of transportation and then back to “riding” animals for transportation.

CallumStephenDiggle

Yes exactly, I adore ideas like this. Another artist called Simon roy deals with these themes a lot.

CallumStephenDiggle

Not to spoil anything but you’ll see some of that very soon *taps nose* Uthipidus used the matter from the ground and combined it with his own biomass to transmute it into something useable. It’s one of His abilities that you’ll see more of in the future.

Dennis

I personally think that bio technology will be the future. You can get a lot more accurate and finer machines usuing cells and organisms to do things compared to electronics, mainly due to heat and batteries. But, usuing bio organisms; you can remove those limitations.

Ignis

Bruh...that's so fucking cool! I'm very ready for more. I shit you not, I was staring at the cut-away of the attack boat for a solid 30mins analyzing the hell out of it when it came out. It occurred to me then, I don't why I didn't just ask before, the interior is small and looks like it's mostly 'boat'. Are there no bathrooms or living quarters, common areas? Anything like that? Do they eat? Do they drop shits?

CallumStephenDiggle

It’s certainly an interesting prospect, but also a pretty scary and uncanny one from the modern human perspective. One advantage of advanced gene editing is that there is no manufacturing process, you can just grow what you need by inputting carbon.

Etowno

great design. what are the human hands holding the imperium-modified humans for?

Bethany Mccarten

Well thats some of the creepiest visuals ive ever seen before.. Love it!
