Sorry about the wait on this page everyone, I hope you had a great bank holiday weekend! Only 2 more pages of Humanity Lost to go before Volume 1 is completed. I can’t believe we‘re finally there, it has been such a journey.

This is the kind of stuff I hope we accomplish one day as a species :) Maybe not with SpaceX though!

Marcos

How much did Elon pay you for this? Just kidding, looks awesome!

Davide

Amazing page as always!

Davide

here we have the real villain of the story; SpaceX! jokes aside it's really interesting the entire structrure, as a huge sorting center mixed with a train station, but in the space. Very cool the artificial lunar sea

Davide

we cannot escape this future :)

Davide

if the megacorps are enslaving Chiron, and if SpaceX is one one of them... well shit

House Hendoe

Guess, Virgin Galactic and Blue Origin didn't get far lol

Miningation

There she is, the U.E Belfast. God I didn’t realise how much I missed her until now

Xplodingmuffin

I wonder if CyberElon is still kicking around in Humanity Lost

I would agree, although the egos inflated, whether or not they are unproductive, evil, good, etc.. make a company of people produce work that materialize the future's prosperity of our behalf. It means that what is there that can accomplish many things is a merit both good and bad. That company just has to have good intentions, in order for it to be widely accepted. Don't you think?

Isaac Solar

Here comes those little remarks of whoever they support.

I just really like the Starship that they’re working on over there at spacex. I just think Elon has the right idea about full reusability, full reusability would significantly reduce launch costs and would speed up the colonisation of the moon. If you look at the SLS that got scrubbed yesterday, NASA and their contractors have been working on that stack since 2005. Once SLS launches, that’s it, they have to build an entirely new rocket. The contractors know they have an assured income from the tax payers so they just phone it in with no urgency, delays actually generate them more money because it’s more payed work for them. Not to mention the corruption in the space industry is insane, so much lobbying goes on it’s unreal too. I like spacex’s dynamism, this rapid testing and innovation, it’s exciting.

Isaac Solar

Now that i saw what it fully looks like, i wanna see it crash :]

CallumStephenDiggle

Personally I think a fully reusable heavy launch vehicle is the way to go. It’s the only way to significantly reduce launch costs and increase launch frequency, which is what you need if you want ANY kind of infrastructure around the moon bar a couple habitation modules for exploration purposes. Elon aside, I think this is where NASAs money should be funnelled, not Boeing, Aerojet Rocketdyne, and Northrop Grumman. The old contractors are just this bloated, slow and inefficient machine gobbling up tax payers money that could be better spent elsewhere. A single launch heavy lift rocket just isn’t the way to go in 2022. I can guarantee Artemis will go the same way as Apollo if they continue down this path of overly expensive disposable rockets. They’ve been working on the SLS since 2005, they’re using space shuttle side boosters that aren’t even in production any more, that means the Artemis project is capped at a certain amount of launches anyway. But hey, I might be wrong and I’m interested to hear anything you have to say in response guys

CallumStephenDiggle

Haha! I’m surprised how much people really don’t like Spacex, I thought people disliked blue origin and were generally favourable to Spacex 🤷‍♂️ oh that’s not a sea, that’s a ring of solar panels stretching across the whole of the moons equator. thanks man!

CallumStephenDiggle

Did you ever expect them to 😂 jokes aside I think blue origin might do well if they manage to get their new Glenn up and running.

Davide

I joke about my aversion to SpaceX, even with flaws they are driving human progress forward, solar panels are even better than the artificial sea, even if we are so small we can create titanic constructions

Mosis

How I see it, what the engineers are doing at Spacex is exciting. Just wish it wasn't attached to Elon. They are doing important work for space exploration and colonization. A cool company to look at is Relativity Space. They are trying to make Spacex rocket equivalents by 3d printing the majority of the parts. Very exciting!

Isaac Solar

I agree, efficiency in our hardware provides many possibilities for wider space faring range. If the budget goes somewhere well spent, there's nothing wrong, i bet where the real worry for people here is who they would entrust this to, they don't know Elon, and they can't know everybody.
