I really like the fact that the overfather doesn't need to go to cryosleep. I wonder whether it will be ever possible for humanity to traverse among stars without sleeping.

Davide

Hello again Stephen! I like very much the technologies you illustrate, like these cryostasis chambers, they look like a mixture of organic and mechanical

Davide

the Overfathers are too op, and I love it!

Gabu

This is a great imagining of the stasis space! Love how you’re not afraid of a cross-section even during dialogue!👍🏻

CallumStephenDiggle

I do love a good cross-section/cutaway. I want to do more actually, I did a lot of them in the first few issues, I need to get back to that.

CallumStephenDiggle

If that ever could be a possibility, it’s far beyond our time horizon.

CallumStephenDiggle

Hey again, Davide! Well thank you very much, it’s nice to hear it. Yeah the technology displayed here is definitely bordering on being considered clarketech, but so is most technology beyond the remits of our ability, some are just more feasible than others. It’s not actually cryogenic, it’s some other advanced form of preservative liquid. The fluid is kept in place via some kind of energy field that passes through it from behind and below, so even when the ship is under the force of acceleration, the occupant of the chamber stays in place.

Davide

How cool! Excellent attention to detail :)

Gabu

Are the going to dream in stasis? I hope we see it! (I think you might have hinted at this)

CallumStephenDiggle

His mind will be very inactive whilst in stasis, I actually cover this on the current page I’m working on (page 165).

It's so sad that what we would ever get to see is the possibility of life and death over war, and the advancement of the means of killing, so much so to discover new technologies. For now.
