At long last, I can show you what I’ve been working on! It’s only the black & white line-work, but the colours won’t take nearly as long as what this did, they’ll probably be finished early next week. Thank you all for being so patient with me 🙏🏻

I also have some really good news. A publisher is interested in Humanity Lost volume one and have said that they’d like to print It! I just have to talk through a deal with them and then later this year (maybe even a few months), you’ll be able to pick up your very own copy of Humanity Lost volume one: Rebirth!

Those are amazing news. Congrats!! This story should be absolutely published. I hope you get an amazing deal.

It’s so exciting! This will be my first published work. Thanks Marcos, I wouldn’t have been able to have done it without the support I’ve received from people like yourself!

Hey man, I just joined the other day and I have no words for what you have created, I simply find your work spectacular. I’ve seen also that you respond to everyone’s comments and love the feeling of respect and community you have created here. Anyways I wanted to ask what’s your process to designing these beautiful pages. It seems to me you do everything by hand on paper (I love your lines) but then do you transfer to digital? Your colour gradients leave me starstruck and make the characters seem 3d modelled and rendered. Thanks and keep up the splendid work your doing;)

Shawn Bond

Fantastic news, Callum! Well done, my man! 👍. And a superb piece! Gives me a bit of an Akira vibe with the destruction of Tokyo. I like it! 😃

CallumStephenDiggle

Hey! Well thanks so much for joining up, I really appreciate your contribution to the project! I’m really glad to hear that you’ve been enjoying it, thank you for the nice words also. Oh absolutely, I try to reply to everyone’s comments and to answer any questions that people might have, so hit me up in the comments if you have any more 🤙🏻 the entire first volume was done traditionally on paper yes, I would then scan it in once the inks were done and continue with the colours on my IPad Pro in Procreate. When I did volume 1, I did the entire book in stages, like a conveyor belt. First I planned the entire thing in one go by writing the script and pencilling the pages, then I went back to the start and did alllll of the ink work, once that was complete I then scanned every page and coloured them one after the other on my iPad.

CallumStephenDiggle

Isn’t it just! Thanks mate, I’m over the moon honestly, no pun intended. Cheers, I was getting those vibes when I was working on it, I’ve got nothing on Otomo though 😂

i've been wondering what's with those oval or egg-like structure all over Luna? i wonder what's their true function, or the U.E architecture is just so hollow, bland or something?

Haladrias

fantastic! i love the detail work! (although that looks taxing)

Taku River Red

Do you draw the linework on physical paper? I love zooming in to look at the little details and I wondered if the texture is a software effect or real. Either way, it doesn't change the fact that your work looks great! Just curious!

Erika Spooner

Now I see why the All-Mother uses those beam weapons all the time. Pelion has to be wiped off the map by now. Also, do you think the Hulk could beat an overfather without psionic powers being used?

60sebastian

you put so much effort in and pump these out frequently. dont worry about any delays. its always worth the wait.

cornerflag77

I hope you know how valuable your series is! This series has so much potential as an animated series, movie, ect. I can absolutely see you making major bank with a Netflix or Amazon deal if you play your cards right! Best of luck!

CallumStephenDiggle

It’s as you say, the architecture is bland, monotone and uniform. Those egg like structures are huge 3D printed arcologies.

CallumStephenDiggle

It’s all worth it in the end, I love looking back at pages where I really put my all into it. Thanks, Haladrias!

CallumStephenDiggle

Not anymore, I’ve transitioned to working digitally. The whole of volume one was pen on paper. The paper effect you see here is just used to give it a nice finish, it’s just some sheets that I scanned in and put on a multiply layer. When I did volume 1, I did the entire book in stages, like a conveyor belt. First I planned the entire thing in one go by writing the script and pencilling the pages, then I went back to the start and did alllll of the ink work, once that was complete I then scanned every page and coloured them one after the other on my iPad. I set up my Patreon once I had all of issue one complete, so that when people joined they had something to read, I was on the colouring phase at that time and I was able to pump a coloured page out a day. Once I had completed volume 1 I needed to transition into a digital digital medium in order to keep pages coming out quickly for the Patreons. They are still 2D hand drawings, they are just drawn on an iPad Pro rather than paper for efficiencies sake. Because if I was do do the traditional conveyor belt method like I did before on volume one, it would be a full year before Patreons got to see a full colour complete page and I couldn’t do that. Thanks so much!

CallumStephenDiggle

They’re extremely efficient. Oh the Hulk would destroy an Overfather like a bug, no question.

CallumStephenDiggle

Thanks Sebastian, It’s nice hearing that! In a way, I really like the pressure, it gives me drive.

CallumStephenDiggle

That’s so nice of you to say, thank you! Haha well I hope everything you just said eventually comes true 🤞🏻

Erika Spooner

I have to disagree with you, Overfather's don't need telekinesis or hand-beams to beat the hulk. They could easily dodge any attacks and hit the Hulk hard, and that's not even considering their super-intelligence.

Davide

This is Dragon Ball Z level of power! Already the line-work are amazing!

Davide

Good luck with the publisher, you already have a buyer

Gabu

Whoa you weren’t kidding about level of detail! It’s amazing to imagine how many people lived in that cavernous lava tune!! Maybe you answered already, but what is that stringy tower with balls (mirrors)? Is that an elevator or maybe a light collector?

Gabu

So exciting about you getting a publisher! You worked hard for this moment — talking with so many right?

Miningation

i love how you can follow each individual beam refraction and see the path of destruction it has created. congratulations on finding a publisher! this definitely deserves to get sold physically

Taku River Red

Wow that's wild. It looks like I could feel the texture of the pages. It's a really good effect; it fooled me! Nice work!

CallumStephenDiggle

I went all out on this one. It’s just such an interesting concept for off-world habitation I think. can you imagine being in a fully terraformed Luna lava tube, it would be breathtaking. The tower with the cables is extremely high rise living with an elevator shaft that leads right to the docks on the surface.

CallumStephenDiggle

I wouldn’t speak so soon, I haven’t signed any contracts just yet. I have indeed, thank you. I’m talking with a few, just to give the book the maximum chance of success.

CallumStephenDiggle

Haha I love putting in details like that, thanks for noticing. Cheers! I can’t wait to be able to hold it in my own two hands.
