I’ll have some more alien landscapes to show you in the next infographic. That being the now destroyed Bo homeworld.

I'm really crazy about the Gord design. I think it's so smart to imagine alien life with physiologies that are entirely outside our realm of experience, outside the realm of individuality even. That feels so likely and real to me. I'm curious, how did the Kolaxans escape their planet's gravity well? I ask because you mentioned in another post that the Briemheinians struggled to exit theirs without help

Davide

these are my two favourite aliens, very unique and badass

CallumStephenDiggle

Thanks Patrick, the Gord are definitely the most alien aliens in Humanity Lost. It’s likely that alien life would be even stranger than anything we can dream up. Romonia, unlike Wimrigg, is endowed with a thick atmosphere. Flight is extremely easy at the lower levels, the higher you rise through the layers, the faster you can go because of rapidly decreasing air density. Kolaxans in the early stages of their space program broke orbit by scooting up to the edge of the atmosphere, soaring at high speeds on large flying launch platforms and launched rockets from there. Once they were able to, they built a space elevator, and the rest is history.

CallumStephenDiggle

Of really? I happed to put both on one page, what are the chances of that!

Patrick Perkins

Ahh, that makes a lot of sense! Thank you—satisfying answer :)

Will we see more of the gord war forms like how they fight in combat

Gabu

Excites for that! Any interaction between a Gord hive and another character would be epic. An example of the strange communication, maybe in a visual form of telecommunication with Deicide would be so fascinating to see. Kind of like how your representation of AM gives us insight into her “mind”, we could see the “mind/hive” of a Gord character🤔

Yay, more Kolaxans! Thank you so much for posting more about them. Two questions. First, was the Conglomerate shocked that a single species was able not not only resist them, but do so so thoroughly as the get concessions (also, what were those concessions)? Second, is there any intent to make a Kolaxan a character in the story, or at least a recurring background figure?

CallumStephenDiggle

More thank welcome Odinson. 1) yes, the Conglomerate were aghast with not only how proficient they were, but at just how revelrous they were in battle. The concession included contested territory and a complete demilitarisation of Conglomerate territory bordering Kolaxan space. 2) there won’t be any main characters that belong to their species, mainly because they’re too large to fit in their ship, the Venator. But Kolaxans will make appearances throughout. There have been Kolaxans shown already in issue 3 actually 😁

Viacheslav Zemlianski

I was under impression that civilizations joint the Conglomerate on a voluntary basis. How come the war with the Kolaxans sparked?

CallumStephenDiggle

Not quite, It’s more like the Conglomerate subsume their neighbours. They’re not an altruistic organisation by any means, they’re self interested. They only accept new species in because of the advantages and resources it will grant them. They’re interested in power first and foremost. If a species will not join their alliance willingly, then they will drum up some some charge or use universal “rights” as a pretext for war or annexation. The conglomerate aren’t the warm and fuzzy good guys, they’re an expansive multi-species empire. I haven’t fleshed out much on the Kolaxan-Conglomerate war yet, so I don’t have an answer for that right now, but I will in the future 😁

Gabu

Also, do the Gord walk or are those “roots”?

Gabu

Editing note hopefully before printing, in the Gord. There are 3 “extremely” that could be changed to “quite advanced civilsation” “extremely exotic nature” and “exceptionally difficult communication” (or maybe I’m being nit-picky) Anyway, love your work, and excited to buy a copy!!

From the only picture we have of their armored suit they float probably because of the suit.

CallumStephenDiggle

I appreciate you pointing that out, it has been sent off for print but if it gets rejected again I’ll make that edit 😁 thanks so much, Gabu!
