This story is magnificent. Do you know how hard it is to find a space opera of this magnitude in the comic industry? Borderline nonexistent. I wait in anticipation for the expansion of this glorious universe.

Fernando Ruiz

The world building is awesome, the lore is great, man I really admire your fine craft. Salutes from Mexico City, here you have a place to stay if you visit us one day.

Side note: I couldn’t help but see several themes and designs in humanity lost and be reminded of the comic series Prophet. Have you perhaps read them yourself?

CallumStephenDiggle

Humanity Lost is directly inspired by prophet, yeah! HL was born out of my desire for more prophet in some respects, I really wanted more when the initial run finished (before earth war) and there just wasn’t any, to my frustration I couldn’t find anything else like it in comics either. obviously I had been working on early forms of Humanity Lost long before the prophet reboot was released, but HL was definitely informed by prophet as it was coming out. Simon Roy even went as far as to say that Humanity Lost is Prophets spiritual successor which I was very honoured by.

CallumStephenDiggle

Thanks so much Fernando! Ah man I’d love to visit Mexico again, such an amazing country. I really appreciate it and I’ll keep it in mind mate, cheers!

I feel exactly the same! It’s why I started Horyzan; there’s nothing in the comic industry ( except humanity lost of course ) that scratches that space opera itch that comes from things like Star Wars, Babylon 5, mass effect, Star Trek or dune, among countless others that other forms of entertainment enjoy. I just hope I can deliver such wonders with the Horyzan universe. That aside, Roy is right. HL is the truest successor to Prophet’s legacy and the world is enriched by its existence.

The shield factory!

Davide

wow i adore the tower's architecture

animanatole

Uh. That's not the Wonka factory I remember.

Isaac Young

Yeah I bet when deicide came in Boreus was trying to be all chill and nonchalant “Deicide dude you need chill out man AM’s like totally cool and there’s like no need to rebel, come join me man I’m meditating we can sort this all out. What’s that?, fliegrigels here too?, well come on in man there’s plenty of Za to go round let’s get a drum circle going”.

Miningation

really cool lore behind the GU’s symbol, and you made Deicide say it best when he describes the Imperium as a ‘flood’ also, massive tower with eyes. yes please

Fruit hat

Was Decide regretful he couldn't get his old master to join him or was he expecting this.

CallumStephenDiggle

Cheers Davide! Designing new things is probably my favourite part of making the comic.

CallumStephenDiggle

I think he understood that there would be no convincing him, he didn't even get a chance to get a word in.

CallumStephenDiggle

Thanks Miningation! Yeah, I was a bit dubious about using that analogy because of Halo, but the imperium are different enough and it’s very apt for them. And the pupils are lasers!

CallumStephenDiggle

You’re too kind! I’ll have to check out your Horyzan project, is there anywhere that I can read it?

Fire_Warrior22

The fact that most of the turrets weren't destroyed really shows how hard it is to attack Imperium controled space, especially the Wombworlds. And I am guessing that those 3 start systems holding back the Imperium are not only the ones where Deicide, Fliegrigel and Boreus' wombworlds are located, but also really close to each other in order to form a functional "wall". Also, is this the start of a new "nation" formed from territory controled by the freefathers, as I don't see the point in returning it to it's pre-Imperium owners?

Davide

The Imperium is pretty chill, maybe you can rejoin or something

nicholas

It's on istragram under the account nicholastitusart. When you have the time, I would greatly appreciate your thoughts on it.

CallumStephenDiggle

They are extremely defensible positions, yes! all three systems are neighbouring ones, they’re defended with the full backing of the Galactic union and in turn they churn out new units constantly to supply the G.U. with man power. Though they know the ‘shield of the galactic union’ will ultimately succumb to the imperiums greater numbers, they’re doing their best to hold their ground. That’s an interesting way of putting it, you could say that, the womb-worlds would be completely uninhabitable to their previous inhabitants and they’re too valuable of an asset to just hand over. Perhaps this would be a point of tension in the hypothetical scenario of imperium defeat.
