Bridgette may not know how to say Guillermo Del Toro's name but by the end she was calling this a MASTERPIECE. Lol maybe I shouldn't be but I was actually shocked how good it was too 😂 I mean I expected it to be good but I truly loved this movie especially from a visual and story view. Easily next to SINNERS for best looking movies of the year. Bridgette wants a sequel 😂 what were your thoughts on this one?! What other GDT movies should we watch?! Let us know <3 HUNGER GAMES COMING <3<3<3

Oh please watch Pan’s Labyrinth. Widely considered GdT’s masterpiece and my personal favorite. You guys will absolutely love the contrasts between the child-like wonders of the fairytale world and the real war ridden, fascist-controlled Spain.

Joe Crammond

agreed, please please watch pan's labyrinth

Nemo-the-Red

Yeah, I think Pan's Labyrinth is my favorite except for maybe Pinocchio, but I do love Shape of Water, Crimson Peak, the first 2 Hellboy movies, and Blade 2. The only movie of his that I outright disliked was Nightmare Alley, god I hated that movie.

Chrissy

I absolutely adore this movie. It truly is a masterpiece. Jacob Elordi is excellent as The Creature, Mia Goth is perfect as Elizabeth, the Gothic feel, the dresses, the little details such as the wraps on the arms of Elizabeth’s wedding dress to mirror those of the dress of the original Bride. It was PERFECT. My favorite movie of the year.

Nemo-the-Red

As already said Pan's Labyrinth is amazing, but I'll also recommend his version of Pinocchio, those 2 are kinda tied for my favorite movie of his. (They also have a lot in common.) I watch Pinocchio every Christmas now.

Targary

pans labyrinth! also you guys should react to good boy

Annicorn

I remember crying through my first watch of Pinocchio from start to finish. That’s a special one for sure! I saw nightmare alley in theaters so I just can’t say that it’s awful. GdT’s magic just shines on big screen. The lush colors, set design, and that stacked cast eclipsed the flaws in the theater. Once in a blue moon, I still get craving for those over easy eggs and toast Stanton had.

god’s favorite sacrificial lamb

echoing everyone here but: i think if you love GDT’s visual style you guys would really enjoy pan’s labyrinth (easily his best), but also perhaps the more recent nightmare alley and crimson peak!

Nemo-the-Red

I saw nightmare alley in theaters as well, and I can say the movie is very easy to look at, beautiful even, I just hated pretty much everything about the story. But damn I cry at Pinocchio every time. Ciao Papa is such a great song too.

Nemo-the-Red

With you on Pan's Labyrinth and Crimson Peak.

god’s favorite sacrificial lamb

ahaha i know nightmare alley is more divisive — im really partial to it, though i def acknowledge it’s more flawed than the former two.

Donna Raphael

So excited! I was waiting for your reaction to this movie! I’ve already watched it three times and cried like a baby every time.

Nemo-the-Red

Only a little bit into the reaction, but wanted to clarify a couple things. Around the 16 minute mark you say that father Frankenstein must have done some terrible things to get that wealth, and it was just that he had married Victor's mother. He had come from wealth, but the family money had dried up over the years so he only really had his name, which was high enough status that he could find a wealthy wife. (Though obviously pretty much anyone who has that kind of wealth did do terrible things to get it or they inherited it from people who did.) You also mentioned that being a doctor must make you a lot of money, and while that could be true, it was more that those who could do the studying required to become a doctor were already wealthy so they could pay for the schooling.

Nemo-the-Red

Not sure if you guys get it later, because I certainly didn't until I read about days after seeing it, in the reaction as I'm only part of the way through, but Bridget got it right when she said Mia Goth looked like Victor's mom, Mia Goth played both characters.

Nemo-the-Red

It is very nice to look at, and everyone likes what they like. I like lots of things that other people hate and really dont like some things that a lot of people really like.

Monkey D. Tomy

Pans labyrinth 🙏 one of the greatest movies ever.

Ash

I think Crimson Peak is underrated and I forget how much I love it until watching again.

SeaShel

I think you guys would really like The Shape of Water! Thanks for the eextended reactions!

Joe Crammond

i'm glad they've gone for full length reactions on patreon, makes being a member all the more enjoyable

ToniDaGaymer

You should check out Van Helsing if you haven’t already

CiaraArmstrong

Oh you have to watch his movie Crimson Peak!!!!!

Mauro

WHAT so does that mean y’all haven’t seen blade 2 , hellboy shape of water?! Crimson peak?!

sarr Rr

Mia Goth plays both Elizabeth and Victor's mother (Oedipus complex?) Good catch Bridgette! on the very first time she saw Elizabeth she got it right, and it was just a small picture.

Chrissy

The fact that he’d get so mad at him saying only “Victor” when at the time that was the name of the person who Mattered the most to him, is wild, and that Elizabeth never heard when he said her name 😩

renee

you guys should watch crimson peak its another one of Guillermo del Toros movies

peyten

yall have to watch the shape of water

D.A.V.E.

Please check out "The Devils Backbone" you wont be disapointed.

802jay

I hope GDT does a sequel to this but I will not get my hopes up :)

802jay

Also check out Cabinet of Curiosities on Netflix. Directed by GDT

VampyreQueenJazmyun

Crimson Peak ~! You will see Loki in a new light, lol, I saw it in theaters twice at the time! It was so good.

Marcos Paulo

You guys should watch some Germanico Del Toro's movies on Twitch almost everything is good.

Nadja Foerster

Check out the shape of water, it's kinda bizarre but at the same time a masterpiece too :)

Travis Akin

1000% That’s why I signed up, too.

Kelsey Roberts

The Creature literally viewed Elizabeth as his mother. In the same way that Victor adored his mother. Everyone is so keen to bring sex into this.

Brian Goodheart

Please do Hellboy and Hellboy 2: The Golden Army by Guillermo Del Toro! They are so gooood

Dawn

GDT is amazing! Check out Pan’s Labyrinth. He also co-wrote The Strain and directed the pilot episode of the series, unsure about other episodes though. I really liked it!

Victoria

Cody was chatty today, lmao 🤣

Anna03

I second this! Yet another masterpiece of GDT and very pleasing to look at as well. The story is also a bonus

Reyna

The GDT movies that you need to put on your watchlist are Pan’s Labyrinth, Hellboy 1 and 2, Crimson Peak, The Shape of Water, and Pinocchio

Dirge Girl

Guillermo del Toro's Cabinet of Curiosities (2022). "An anthology of sinister stories told by revered horror creators... ... bizarre nightmares unfold in eight tales of terror in a visually stunning, spine-tingling horror collection curated by Guillermo del Toro."

David Jørgensen

Pan's Labyrinth is a must watch here.. It's in Spanish so.. Subtitle reading is okay.. You've been practicing much with AoT so it's okay lol ;)

DaisyBug78

I highly recommend rewatching this- it’s almost like watching a different movie and you notice more stuff along the way. Also- You are astute, Mia Goth played Elizabeth and the mother! She was totally unrecognizable!

DaisyBug78

Wolves would never act that way- it was more rabid behavior. But the movie was fantastic! So well done!

DaisyBug78

Right? He was cracking me up!

Michael H

I'll never understand why the make up took 11hrs. its literally just lines and skin patches

Elliot Alderson

I honestly think that was the only point in the movie, that I genuinely didn't like. I absolutely love wolves, almost to the point of obsession. Ever since I was a kid. And not even starving wolves would act like that... I saw it in theatres the first time, and I remarked as well; that it was more like "rabid" animal behavior. I do hate in movies when they have wolves behaving like these monstrous beasts w/like uncontrollable and insensible 'blood-lust'. It takes me out of it. But, it is what it is, unfortunately. Still a phenomenal work of art!

gloomygraveyardgirl

Loved this reaction <3 This movie is incredible. And i would highly recommend "crimson peak" as another del Toro movie to check out. Frankenstein is such a beautiful story and even though this movie is quite different from the book i still feel like its a beautiful adaptation!

httplamby
