WE'RE BAAAAAAAACK. After man months of waiting we got to return to the HUNGER GAMES world! I'm glad we waited a bit so we weren't directly comparing the films. This one is way different. I love the time shift vibe of it, all the seeding of what would become the "modern day" Hunger Games. Ugh I hate Snow even more at the end of the day, and I knew I was going to while watching 😂 Very excited for the new Installment and we'll definitely be watching with ya'll first time <3

19:00 Dinklage giving advice to another Snow.

Matt

55:40 Does that little girl have Down Syndrome?

Taylor

i’ve been waiting so long for this, i can’t watch at the moment but i will be as soon as i can!! love yall 🩷

KaosDragon

yes she has down syndrome, her characters name is Wovey, and in real life her name is Sofia Sanchez. She’s an advocate for down syndrome, and the directors of the movie added her for a more diversified cast as well as (in my opinion) to show that the Capitol/Game Makers didn’t care if a child was sick or had something like down syndrome, no matter what, if you were picked you went into the Games.

Omar Reeves

Her singing is incredible

Q So Raww

59:30 literally no one who was ever in the hunger games deserves it

god’s favorite sacrificial lamb

bridgette got it! tigris is the one who let the rebels hide in her basement in mockingjay part 2. (she’s the one who tells katniss she was a stylist in the games until snow “decided i wasn’t pretty enough anymore.”)

Anne ₃₃₃

I love so much of these movies/books, been waiting for this reaction and yall didn't disappoint, cant wait to see the next one with yall. One of my favorite lil things is how it really opens up the ultimate parallel like a dark-haired covey girl who sings (katniss' father is covey) and a blonde boy fall in love in the hunger games. I know Snow was having a total mindfuck w/ Katniss & Peeta. Then like Snow then forcing them to recreate the story by making Peeta turn against & try to kill Katniss like Snow did with Lucy Gray. (especially since he cant be no Victor if Lucy Gray is still walking) idk after watching this film, Snow's actions and words go a lil crazy when rewatching the originals. Also Idk if you guys caught it but 'The Hanging Tree" song is indeed written by Lucy Gray but is telling the events of the third part

Misty Barnes

37:42 she has tuberculosis and will be the little girl who has down syndrome. I know it’s already said in another post, but basically they don’t care if you’re not mentally or physically able to do anything even in the original trilogy and Katniss‘s first games there was a boy who had like a crippled foot and he still had a play they’re beautiful games. And Peter Dinklage character keeps taking morphing, which is the same thing that the two winners in catching fire used, and that one woman who saved Peeta from the monkeys, and they took her to the water and looked at the sky. He wants to go through the rest of his life numb from everything.

Kuha Mo

Has Bridgette finished the books?

Margo

Off topic sorry but who did your guys t-shirt art?? It's fucking awesome🩷🩷🩷

Brendan R Colquitt

Mags the old woman tribute from catching fire was the winner of the 11th hunger games. With the first 9 being lost to time and the 10th disappearing, mags was the first to take a victory tour and the first to be a mentor

MO

Attack on Titan week has officially started!

Misty Barnes

Yeah, but this one’s a lot smarter than the other one or I should say he’s more of a snake

Misty Barnes

2:08:45 Jabberjay’s can actually talk. They’re the one you heard the recording from Mockingjay’s and have the melody and the tone of whatever was said or sang, but they’re not actually able to speak.

Misty Barnes

2:09:28 he never ever ever ever believe that he would’ve been hung. He really thought that his father would’ve been able to get him out of trouble and he would adjustment sent home to the capital he never imagine him being hanged he was just trying to protect him.

Misty Barnes

It is not actually confirmed by Susan Collins that Mags won the 11th game. She had to win anywhere between the 11th and 13th game.

Brendan R Colquitt

Fair though she hasn't denied it either. Though even if it was 12 or 13 its kinda interesting that mags won right around this time

Derek

I love how Lucy disappeared but chose to be something that haunted snow. She really wanted him to fear for his life and I love how she went about it.

Calliope

Will we be getting AOT today?

Calliope

Snow in the book is very narcissistic. Since the book is completely from his POV you really get to see his thoughts. Like at some point when he's serving in 12, he thinks to himself that it would've been better for him if Lucy Gray was kept in a cage like in the Capitol before games, cuz that way he could always keep an eye on her at all times. Then there are lots of times he sees Lucy as his object and something belonging to him. He has loootts of narcissistic thoughts, I remember this big monologue of him in the book when he's in 12, he thinks he's the best among humanity, and that he doesn't deserve to spend his life in 12 as that would be a waste of talent. Because he's a genius he needs to be in the capitol, not in the woods like this like cattle, or something along that line. He also hates the mockingjays in the books, like REALLY hates them. I was so surprised by this because they are just mimicking the tune of a human's voice, whereas Jabberjays literally mimick the entire words of humans. If anything Jabberjays seem more creepier. But I believe its because he thinks that mockingjays are not supposed to exist. Jabberjays were sent by the capitol to control the districts, and eventually were left there to die, but a new species of birds emerged from them that thrive in the districts, even when they're not supposed to. And these are mockingjays. This shatters his illusion that humanity/districts can be controlled. Mockingjays existing means Capitol cannot control everything. They are an anomaly. And this really pisses him off.

Jarrod (JP) Pence

You guys should react to the Sunrise on the Reaping trailer!!!!

SDSavvy

The name is the same, but the Tigris in Mockingjay sure doesn't look to be 80+ years old.

SDSavvy

This has to be the strangest book I've ever read. We know going in that it is the origin story of Snow, and he ends up a bad guy. The thing is, it's like you are expecting a story about a decent guy fighting against going bad and losing, but instead you get a story about a bad guy fighting against going good and winning.

SDSavvy

I'm surprised this move is rated as high as it is. There is no character development. If I hadn't read the book first, I don't feel like I could have followed the story very well. Everything seems so disjointed.

SDSavvy

Snow's feelings for Lucy Grey were always secondary. When the only option he had was to volunteer as a peace keeper, he asked to be sent to 12 (where no one wants to go) because of her. He had no intention of going there when he thought he had a full ride to university. Then when he thought for sure the gun with his DNA would eventually be found and his only option was to run, he made arrangements to run with her. But that went out the window as soon as he found the weapons and he knew for sure he'd never be charged with killing the mayor's daughter. Lucy Grey had already told him that trust was more important to her than love, so when he accidentally outed himself about killing 3 people and then made up that lame cover story, that was it for her. She knew before he did when he found those guns that if she didn't get the hell out of there, he would kill her. She could be ruthless too, but the snake she used in her trap was non-venomous (too bad). I believe she got away and went north like she planned.

hallokween

yeah but she IS genetically mutated. could be :)

hallokween

yes! they elaborate on this alot in the book. coriolanus is actually on his way to mail a letter he wrote about sejanus being in trouble, to sejanus' parents, when he gets the announcement that sejanus is to be hung, and he has to report to the hanging tree as a guard immediately.

MichaelA

I've never read the book, and there doesn't seem to be any narrative issue with anything. I followed it without any issues. The end cabin part feels rushed, her development into what I assumed as it happened was deciding she can't go with him and trust him is not fleshed out even slightly. But as far as I can tell when I looked it up assuming this was a mistake in the movie, it doesn't sound like the book does a much better job.
