I had always wished they would have got Katie Leung (Cho Chang in Harry Potter and Caitlin's VA in Arcane) to voice Rayla. She was raised in Scottland and has the perfect accent naturally.

i mean, it depends on the elves. sunfire have french canadian accent and earthblood have aussie. specifically the moonshadow have scottish though runaan is more british and rayla's va have a scottish mother but her natural accent is canadian so she's doing a fake one. ethari is definitely scottish.

Incidentally, if you ever want to wash out Rayla's "accent" from your ears, there's always the compilation video "Extremely Scottish Rayla", which switches out her lines with Maisie Williams playing the potty-mouthed Scottish hacktivist Cammie MacLeod in gen:LOCK. It's pretty hilarious, if nothing else.

Callum having the same VA as Sokka from ATLA is just perfect. And don't worry, I'm know Rayla's "Moonshadow" accent will take some getting used to, but I'm sure Rayla as a character will grow on you. I'm so glad you're reacting to this. Apart from Elijah, there's a severe lack of reactors checking out this amazing series, and it deserves so much love.
