I like this but I also think maybe now that steven is much more settled and knows about his mum also dosent have a gem war to deal with, he should maybe spend some time in isolation. Jasper did have a point that he has always had help but also he has constantly ran from one problem to the next trying to fix things. Now that he's older and by human standards invulnerable some time alone or at least away from familiar people might be good for him to really get to grips with what he wants to do and develop as a person who can function independently.

Episode 2 has a great point about how, when idealists have gained power and enacted change in policy, but then observe related societal structure naturally rebuilding or maintaining itself in a way that they personally feel is too like the old, they can dismiss it as "false consciousness" rather than accepting it as the will of the people, and so they can abandon free association and take greater "management" over the democratic levers of power to give the people what they "really want deep down," no matter how much they yell that they want the opposite.

Jasper's character is really interesting. I wonder why she was so loyal to pink. If pink maybe said something or did something that made her feel so strongly about her or if it was something else. She seemed to really respect pink still referring to her as "my diamond" and seeing steven as lesser even though he is a diamond and has her gem.

She literally said "my diamond, your diamond, pink diamond" when we first get smokey, to theirs no reason to think she wasn't made as part of pinks gems 🤷

I know. I know she's one of pinks gems. What I mean is unlike the others she takes pink being gone almost as personal as the diamonds. As if she worked personally alongside her. Most gems look at the diamonds as powerful terrifying godlike beings. And they reacted to them either out of fear or admiration. And when it was found out that steven is pink diamond with inheriting her gem. The other diamonds and gems treated him as such. But jasper doesn't. Jasper doesn't accept him as a diamond and even says "you may have her gem but you are not my diamond". That makes it feel like jasper had something personal towards pink. Maybe she was one of her closest guards or something of that sort. We know that quartz soldiers are seen guarding diamond palequines. Maybe that was where she was poster. Or with pinks personality Maybe jasper admired her power and kindness. Either way it's as if pinks disappearance or (fake) death was something jasper took personally.

But, your emotions being triggered at seeing Steven growing up and no longer being "wittle" seems to be the byproduct of you being a pseudo-mom to your siblings, having helped raise them and all. That being the case. If you ever get around to reacting to My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic; you are going to be an absolute wreck, come the later seasons.

Im in agreement here, for similar reason 🤷 people would assume my baby brother was mine because I took care of him so much(mostly voluntarily) when I was 15-17ish rather than the(should have been more obvious) assumption of taking care of my baby brother(5-6ish) and even know once in a while people wonder if he's mine🤷🤣(the absolute fk no from him before I even get the chance to correct them never fails to crack me up)

"What happens when regular people not from Beach City realize there are aliens here?" That is an interesting question. I mean, Earth *has* to know that the Gems were historically on the planet - their remains are everywhere, after all. And it's not like the original Crystal Gems kept themselves hidden away, so I suspect that government and scientists know they've been there this whole time (why we never saw that world's equivalent of the X-Files coming to interview them or whatever is something only Rebecca Sugar can tell us). Okay, roundabout, what I'm suggesting is that there are aliens and they're here on Earth might not be the big shocker there that it would be here. (though Renaldo's obsession with aliens - while not apparently realizing the Gems *were* - kinda puts a crimp in this theory) How does a rollercoaster car explode into a fireball anyway?

Ah, you picked up on the theme song. That's foreshadowing the finale, when Steven figures out how to shift between his Steven and Pink Diamond forms, then retires and lets Peridot take over his role as the heart of the team. Also, Jasper does end up finding her calling as a refrigerator salesman.
