So close to the start of rwby glad your enjoying the prequel unlike a lot of fans but imo and a lot of others the real rwby show starts volume 3. The graphics get an insane jump then same with story, dialogue, etc idk not gonna spoil but rwby imo is only up from here.

Lmao! Yeah everyone has that same reaction to Cinder's, ahem, entrance into the building. I would suggest she has the subtitles on for chapters she's rewatching if she wants to take notes. ...and of course, both she and Elijah should watch the World of Remnant shorts soon! :D

It really brings me so much joy to see people who are new to RWBY enjoying it so much. It has so much heart and are there things about it to criticize? Sure what show doesn't have something about it to criticize nothing is perfect. But RWBY has a loud section of the internet that loves to treat it like their punching bag and like it's the worst thing ever made it's baffling to me ANYWAY The sound effect they used when Jaune rubs his hands together in the scene where he’s talking to Pyrrha on the balcony... Get that man some lotion stat! Best boy is here! Too bad we later find out that Zwei is really a grimm that's learned to disguise itself (come on do you really think an actual dog can fit into a shipping tube?) but we can love him for now!

Chapter 7: The scene on the balcony between Jaune and Neptune passes some sort of reverse Bechdel Test, where two guys talk about girls' emotions. I did not expect your reaction to Jaune wearing a dress to be to give him fashion advice. But I did expect your reaction to Cinder to be: Mosco: *slow head turn toward Elijah* Elijah: *suddenly very interested in the walls* (quietly) "ooh, lore..." I mean, Elijah could get *you* a body pillow. Maybe a season 5 She-Ra muscle mommi one? Chapter 8: And now Zwei, the destroyer of worlds, has arrived. He earned that nickname when he was too eager playing fetch and broke the moon. I love the little detail that Tai sent a can opener for all of Zwei's food because he didn't know that Blake's weapon is also a can opener.

I don't know if people have told you or Elijah but the soundtrack is a major part of the show. Pyrrha's name pronunciation can be a bit confusing if you are just looking at it written. That's why a pronunciation guide for yourself on the character names can be pretty helpful. There is a lot of names in this show that are unusually spelled. Pyrrha and Yang are some of my favorite characters as well. My favorites of the guys is Ren and Neptune.

If you want a refresher on some of the lore, especially what wasn't spelled out, I highly recommend the World of Remnant miniseries. It covers a lot of the worldbuilding that wasn't explicitly spelled out in the show, and is extremely helpful.

Very amusingly, the CRWBY released 'alternate versions' of the JNPR dance using other character models. It worked pretty well for most of them... except the very last one where it really, really, /really/ didn't work but was hilarious to see. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KDiFZaO7z-4&ab_channel=Miradin%28KaimiKreissel%29 It was a bold choice to have Cinder on you screen while Elijah in the room. No spoilers, but keep an eye out for that queen piece icon in the future. Cinder's swords weren't a gun, but they were a bow. While I would like for Ruby to be with Weiss, I'm pretty sure she's either aro/ace or /insanely/ focused on her 'duty'.

Ep 7: 20:08 Penny doing the robot in the background will never not be great. Ep 8: The line Oz has about “robots and rose petals in a dance club” was a left over from when Team RWBY were gonna have a fight in Junior’s Club if I’m not mistaken. But that was scrapped. I’m sure others have already mentioned it, but Velvet was originally only supposed to appear in that one episode back in V1. But fans liked her so much that they gave her a battle design and a team. Team CFVY (Coffee).

The Cinder jumping the rooftops animation is probably one of the most (endearingly) roasted pieces of early RWBY’s janky animation. Love the callout. With V10 greenlit, here’s hoping for more RWBY at conventions. But yeah, can’t help but feel it would have been fun to have you both on the bandwagon a few years ago! Here’s to V10!

I really tried to enjoy the later seasons... but it seemed like the creators didn't care about the plot of the first two seasons, and just wanted make a ton of new character designs, and make them fight in a giant tournament. Just to show off their unique fighting styles. I don't really care for power ladder anime, because instead of progressing plot they just make fights last 10 times longer than I care for, more or less because the authors can't think of anything better to do. And yet DBZ, probably the worst offender, had fights that actually matter. Yeah it took Goku 100 episodes to punch Frieze, but at least that fight was toward a goal that mattered. I didn't care who was going to win the tournament, and I can't even remember why there was a tournament in the first place. There' was a side plot that was somewhat engaging, but it was taking forever to advance, because the 2/3 of each episode was just fights between side characters that I don't care about. I was basically the same as Mosco... wondering why nobody was trying to save Lars.

The first two seasons were the setup since that was part of Act 1. Volume 4 leads to the Act 2. Even Monty himself admitted that the plot would eventually go darker. He never meant for the tone to remain the same. It’s a typical trope used in Anime like for instance, Puella Magi Madoka, Happy Sugar Life, where the setting starts off light hearted but does a 180 into the real gruesome story only after a few episodes. Also the story was partly loosely based on Final Fantasy 8 so if you’re familiar with how that setup goes then RWBY should feel familiar . And can’t describe Final Fantasy’s setup as it would be too spoilery right now. I’d need for her to get through a few more volumes before I make detailed comparisons . So Kerry and Miles are following Monty's road map which is the current 9 volumes going on 10. They never strayed from the original story roadmap. If it's not your cup of tea than that's fine but I don't understand following this series reaction if you're not into it. Unless this is the episode where you're going to stop. Art is a subjective thing so no one is the authority on what makes a story good or bad. It's all just personal preference in the end.

If there is one take away from the series RWBY is that Monty and CRWBY plays with the theme of "subverting". I remember Monty mentioning that in one of his early interviews and some of the Color Trailer quotes hint to that as well.

Lindsay Jones, the voice actor for Ruby has a headcanon that Ruby as Asexual. This isn't confirming anything but it's just a possibility from the voice actress.

I'm hoping the MODs pass this on since Mosco isn't reading any of this. This is important regarding RWBY's marketing with Viz and an explanation of why they're NOW starting to market stuff. Before July 5th of this year, you wouldn't have seen a lot of RWBY at conventions but July 5th is an important date in RWBY history. It's the date of the RTX Convention premiere of RWBY episode 1. And it would be an important date going forward: Here are some examples that follow so yes, I'm going somewhere with this: July 5th, 2024 - (ANIME EXPO 2024) The date of Viz Media Aqcuisition of RWBY. Announced at AX2024 July 5th, 2025 - This was the date that Kerry Shawcross (RWBY showrunner) announces production status of Volume 10 (so yes, V10 is happening). July 5th, 2025 - And while we got the announcement for Volume 10's production, this is ALSO the date that RWBY started streaming on HULU/Disney + . So if you have HULU then you have access to all of RWBY (the series proper). - With that in mind, Viz Media officially started marketing RWBY at conventions beginning with AX2025 - And i just came back from San Diego Comic Con 2025 so Viz Media's booth was there along with a huge RWBY display. They were giving away posters and other free RWBY stuff. RWBY also has official Instagram and Twitter accounts. They also have a presence on Facebook and I believe there's a TikTok account if you want the latest updates. But also you might need to wait until you're finished with the series as those official social media accounts tend to post spoilery stuff. If you need updates, we can fill you in on them but the MODs have to pass on the message.

The fights in Volume 3 only took up 6 episodes, then the plot got going. You clearly haven't seen all of the show, in which case, don't make such authoritative statements about it.

Omg Elijah just dying off screen as Mosco loses it at Neptune's terrible timing. That was hysterical! xD Funny bit of trivia: A lot of people ask why Ruby didn't take off her heels to fight Cinder. Actually, she can't. Those are part of the model's body. They would have had to rig up a whole 'nother model of Ruby in the party dress without the heels, and they just didn't have that kinda time. Penny in between the two Atlas soldiers at the dance, one red and one blue, is another subtle little Red vs Blue reference. Team CFVY (pronounced "coffee") is a favorite of one of the people who worked on the show. A guy by the name of Joe Macdonald, who, as it happens, also worked on the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon from the 1980s, and The Magic School Bus.
