Regarding Sun. The poor guy gets a bad rap but what I'd like to remind everyone is that while he has made his feeling for Blake abundantly clear, what he's doing isn't necessarily because of that. Sure, he considers her and her team friends because he is pursuing her romantically but itis BECAUSE he sees them as friends that he followed her. Like he said, he thought she was running into danger and even when it became clear, he had more than just a good point that the White Fang may still target her. We all saw how Adam acted, if he knew Blake was by herself... well you can imagine.

"Rewatching the show, catching up to where I am, then rewatching it again." is the most relatable line ever. I keep doing this with both of your reactions, and I've seen this show like 20 times. On the plus side, I do feel like I keep picking up some new details every rewatch at least.

Yeah, Sun stalking Blake and all doesn't sit too well with me. Like sure, good intentions, but ugh. At least he wants to be there as a friend. Ah yes, the "I'm appreciating the art" lol! Blake's new outfit is really cool, but I agree with you about the boots; doesn't seem to enable proper movement with the knees. Can't wait for you to watch the next chapters and hopefully be able to watch the opening, finally! :D

The closest thing to a spoiler that the OP has was that Sun was hanging around Blake. I find it funny that Masco figured out he was under the cloak so quickly, since that was the main reason for skipping it. Honestly, I don't think that did her any favors.

Between chapter 1 and this one I noticed that the writers go for a more refined and regal vocabulary when writing Salem’s dialogue. “Do you find such malignance necessary?” “It can feel your trepidation.” I’m sure there are more examples I’ll be able to pick up going forward now that I noticed this quirk. And I do like it when writers make an active effort to have certain characters have a distinct way of speaking.

I have to agree about the Grim at the end, it is easily my least favorite Grim in the entire series and the noise makes me want to crawl out of my skin every time. Also, one of my favorite headcannons in this Volume is that the shot of Yang glancing at the books and then turning on the TV was showing her thinking about Blake, but then turning away to avoid the pain of being abandoned.

*admiring Blake's new outfit* GAY GAY HOMOSEXUAL GAY!! but totally valid XD you're right on the money about the growing prevalence and size of the Grimm! it's not just because of the animation upgrade; it really is to convey how the world is reeling from the Fall of Beacon and the panic and fear it caused all over. can't say much about what is in store for Yang, but I promise you will enjoy it. the writers really did handle her well.

I think my favourite part of yours and Elijah’s reactions is how perceptive you are. Not only in picking up on the details that are presented in the show but using them to make logical predictions. Also, if you hate that Grimm (the Seer Grimm), you’ll love volume 5.

This is my favorite Blake outfit. Yeah, this chapter is the biggest offender when it comes to floaty fight scenes. Don't get me wrong, I understand they were still getting used to Maya and how to even do fights on that software, but it is a little distracting for me. The Grimm is called a Sea Feilong and it is definitely one of the more unique Grimm. I also enjoy that the crew got to help finish it off. Ponytail Yang!!! I appreciate Tai's gesture here but I feel that is something you should at least discuss with a person. Regardless, it is painful seeing my girl going through it like this.

Binging RWBY... what could possibly go wrong? It's not like there's emotional landmines in every volume. Like when Yang discovers her new arm has a laser pointer and it reminds her of that time she was definitely not flirting with Blake.

ngl, when you dabbed at your nose after seeing Blake's full outfit, my first thought wasn't lingering sniffles from the Emotional Damage last episode, it was that you'd gotten an anime nosebleed at how attractive Blake is XD

Seriously with as obvious as it was that it was Sun, I don't get the whole ZOMG SPOILERZ! attitude with the opening. Part of the fun is the wild speculation of what things mean because most of the openings don't have any context for the events or 'events' that are shown in them. OMG don't watch the Volume 2 OP because it shows Cinder with the Maiden eye glow! You don't know what a Maiden is yet or the significance of the single eye glow. There are things in the Volume 4 OP that don't even happen in the volume, but I remember the tons of speculation about. We all watched it in line with the show. Why not let them have the same experience we did?

The books that Yang is looking at forlornly reminds her of a certain bookworm that she met at a Beacon dining hall whose Black Bow she apparently liked because "it goes great with her pajamas." (Alluding to volume 1 just in case this goes right over your head). Also welcome to the "YANGST:" era.

Amazing what happens when you actually have both a budget and a stronger animation engine, ain't it? :D The song in the background of the fight (Like Morning Follows Night) is a very good song, though used as evidence for Midnight Sun (Blake x Sun) though it could also just be read as a good friend who pushes where one needs to. "It's be a regular journey to the east! Yeah, I like the sound of that." Cute callout to Sun's basis of the Monkey King Sun Wukong from the Journey to the West.

Yeah, I didn't get it either. I'm disappointed Masco didn't watch it, I loved Elijah's reaction to it. I feel we all missed out when she skipped it. The closest thing to a spoiler I could think of was that Sun was in this volume. I'd rather she watch it sooner rather than later.

Phrase “cat in a room full of rocking chairs comes to mind”. Ironwood’s unprompted initiative and moving the cybernetic arm to the Priority One spot I see as done in part to say “sorry we doubted you, my own apologies, and thank you for the sacrifice you still made even with all of that”. The Faunus ears and tails are also much more expressive with the new animation. Son’s “it’ll be like a regular Journey to the East” is a play on the famous tale “Journey to the West” featuring Son Wu-Kong, The Monkey God. Conjecture: when Salem said earlier that having a Maiden’s power was a hinderance in fighting someone like Ruby, could it be that the Maiden power (and maybe collective conscious?), defaults to seeing silver-eyed warriors as protectors and thus will resist using the power on them? So Cinder is having to train to dominate the Maiden power and break it into compliance to have a hope of using her powers unrestrained on a Silver Eyes? And enter creepy Cthulhu-Palantír.

A realization just came to me that I cant explain without spoilers that wee lass isn't up to even with her most recent reaction I think, but she might be onto something mentioning the entrance exam relics. I have a theory about that.
