Damn QUADRUPLE rwby upload in one week lmao

Connor Hines

Menagerie basically means zoo. Also in Sun’s defense, it’s not every day you find out your friend is basically a princess.

Jonathan Smith

You got the name right. a menagerie is a collection of animals, hence it being the name of the Faunus capitol city.

Episode 5: Man, that scene where Kali just hugs her daughter gets me emotional every time. Especially because that was not what Blake was expecting. Breaks my heart man. I love Blake’s parents though. Such sweethearts. So if you'll recall at the end of V1 Blake talked about how she was basically raised in the White Fang, and then five years ago their leader stepped down and a new one took over. Makes sense seeing as her dad was the previous leader that she'd be raised around all the rallies and stuff. So five years ago after Ghira stepped down (and Blake would have been 12), she left with the new, more violent White Fang and Adam. Adam and his faction are still WF, they're just a "splinter cell." Or so Corsec and Fennec say. But yeah, Blake hasn't seen her parents in at least five years. And hey, now her dad is Chieftan of Menagerie. Episode 6: The difference between Casey's singing voice and Kara's normal voice for Weiss is so funny. Casey Lee Williams, who does most of the singing for the soundtracks along with her father Jeff, is Weiss' official singing voice. I love the art for that painting of Beacon. It's so good. And I love that Weiss saw it and immediately wanted to go look at it because Beacon was probably the happiest she'd ever been and it's where her friends were. And now it's all... gone. So Henry was given the nickname "Discount Neptune" by the crew during production. I also like Shitty Neptune myself as a name for him. First off, meet the NPC known as Trophy WIfe. And yay, we love people just casually saying the people that died in Vale during the Fall deserved it because of a "lack of proper Kingdom defense" and not, you know, realizing that the whole thing was an orchestrated attack by outside forces. I understand that the general public doesn't know the truth of what happened but the ignorance on display here is truly astounding. Absolutely wild. Also, yay! Weiss finally fully summoned something! It was an accident but still let's go! It was also the Boarbatusk Grimm she killed in Professor Port's class back in V1. Another time when she was feeling frustrated and undermined. Huh. A detail I've always liked is that each section of the episode ends with the girls looking up at their respective family member, but while Weiss looks up in fear at Jacques, Ruby looks up at Qrow in relief.

LaviPastelQueen

God I love that more people are reacting to this treasure of a show man it's so exciting to see the speculations, the excitement, the tension, the happiness, the sadness everything 🥰

Derek Gaschler

That's a next level play Mosco. "Messing up" 4 as an excuse to need to watch extra RWBY? I see you.

CrowOfAFeather

Yeeaahhh...the parts with Sun and Kali's comment always makes me cringe. I tend do skip those lol But I live for Ghira's "I really don't like you." Remember Blake's comment to Sun way back about the WF? "You could say I was born into it." "I don't care who that is!" lmao Yes, Mosco, we wish we could forget and watch RWBY again for the first time ;_;

Curtis Murphy

Great reaction as always. Yeah Weiss' father is a piece of work isn't he? Gonna be honest I still don't get the whole "not watching the opening" thing. Like, even if you see a character not introduced yet or a plot point in the future, I would think "oh wow, I wonder how we get to there". Guess it's just different attitudes around what a "spoiler" is I suppose. You do you

Phoenix_mercury

As per the discord "if Mosco has not seen it(character/moment ect)" it is a spoiler, e.g. the V4 intro spoils characters that mosco hasn't met, just like how the v7 intro spoils character designs, or imagine if *she* wasn't in the first two eps of v7, the intro would have been a massive spoiler for that ect

Phoenix_mercury

Menagerie is a collection of exotic animals specifically

Wildgameseeker1

You can now watch the intro cause all the spoilers as you put it are over it was just to show new characters and you met everyone in the inteo.

Stephen Mumford

"Menagerie" also can mean "a strange or diverse collection of people or things." I suspect the people that offered the island to them low-key named it such for the one definition, while the actual Faunus prefer to view it as the other...

Curtis Murphy

Oh okay. Wait, the Volume 7 intro is going to be skipped because of "character designs"? And *she* is in the first episode. I would get that one. It would be a spoiler to see the intro before the first episode in that case. But I just don't see the Volume 4 opening as spoilers. You see characters and think "oh wow who are they, can't wait to meet them". I don't think "oh darn it they spoiled that this character is in the episodes". I think this is just a difference of opinion on what spoils shows. Different spoiler tolerance levels.

Stephen Mumford

"What time is it? Can I record again today?" Well, funny you should mention that....

Wil DeYoung

Tyrian is interested in Jaune because it was love at first sight.

Jonathan Morgan

It's always so funny when people get caught up on saying Jaune interests him when he immediately follows it up with a laugh and "no..."

Ryan

Chapter 5: I love your Day of the Dead hoodie. As my niece would say, "you have dead people so you can set up an ofrenda!" She lost her bisa (great grandmother) a few years ago, so carries on her memory for her little sister. If Blake's knee high boots are going to be a problem... let's hope for her sake that nobody has thigh high boots ;) If you have that much (understandable) trauma from growing up Catholic, then Warrior Nun must have been a difficult watch. This volume could be called, "Meet the Parents". I think we've met everyone but Summer Rose and Weiss' mom. They're not dead, no, they ran off together and run a little inn in the hills outside Sapphire City. It's a comedy of errors when team RWBY spends the night and the two moms are doing their best not to be recognized. Chapter 6: The subtle symbolism of Weiss' dress being her prison - she can't fight in that skirt. Tyrian is such a good henchman. So creepy. Wow, no trauma these last three chapters. I wonder what's coming... :evil grin:

DragonBlaze

Since alot of people don't know who Tyrion is based off of, I will tell you. He is based on the scorpion on the table the Scorpion and the Frog.

EmberPanther

I can’t wait until Weiss summons the Nevermore from Volume 1 to just carry off her father. Also, one thing I love about Sun and Blake’s interactions is that despite her blushing at him during the tournament in Volume 3, she has been crystal clear she isn’t interested ever since they reunited, but Sun never just abandoned her. Whatever his initial reasoning for following her was, he can tell that she needs someone there to help watch her back, and he knows that he is the only one who can. Partially because he is the only other Faunus in their group, but also because he was the only one who wasn’t either recovering from serious injuries or stuck somewhere. Also, very interested in if you are able to figure out what Blake’s parents’ inspirations are! No spoilers obviously, but some in the fandom at this point mentioned that her parents could easily fit the roles of Beauty and the Beast, so it is almost like Blake is the daughter of the characters she was inspired by.

Cinder's Apologist

yeah idk who gave the impression to avoid the intros for "spoilers" because... they really aren't?? the intros are one of the fun aspects of watching RWBY. skipping them is just ridiculous imo

Geass

And Masco has no context for who the waitress is.

Cinder's Apologist

Blake is Faunus royalty! not literally but the equivalent to royalty among the Faunus - her dad being a former leader of the White Fang, now Chieftain of Menagerie, the largest concentration of Faunus in the world. I can only imagine how jarring it was for first time viewers back in the day who must have theorized Blake was just some stray with no family or home, only to reach this point and find out NOPE! she has two very alive parents and a nice big house. as for the Atlas party... THE DISCONNECT IS THE POINT. it will become more evident down the road, but yeah, Weiss really had her eyes opened at Beacon. it's not just the loss of her old school; it's having all these ingrained biases and ideas debunked, seeing the world more clearly, affirming whatever doubts she may have had about her home before she left. also Yang is totally going to fight a Minotaur Grimm in volume 5 ;D

AJ22 AKA AJ Universe

It really sucks how, after that whole thing at the party, Weiss makes up with her father and adopts his worldview all over again.

Dre

I love the shift from “Ohhh Raven’s so cool” to “Ohhh Raven’s kind of an asshole” LOL.

Eric Smith

Menagerie is the island, the capital city they're in is Kuo Kuana

Mare

This is exactly how I feel about that. I mean regular broadcasted TV shows do this very same thing with their openings, at least the ones that still have full openings, and when there’s a regular new character introduced, they stick them in there with no context. In fact all those sitcom openings contain future scenes of episodes that hadn’t aired yet so we don’t get context until the episode comes up. No one had an issue with that before so how has it become an issue now?

Mare

Regular broadcast TV shows do this. When a new permanent character is introduced, they include them in the opening without context. I don’t see how that would be a spoiler. It’s been done for decades with TV shows. I mentioned this in another response but sitcoms tend to go through in a collage of future episode scenes that hand aired yet, in their OP TV intro and yet they don’t have context until you watch the episode itself from. It’s a complete non-issue.

Konrad Dunbar

so I'm a Weiss x Ruby and a Blake x Yang shipper and I like to joke that they're two different ends of the hallmark couple spectrum: farm girl x ceo heiress and farmgirl x (runaway) princess lol

Andrew Hart

And then buys the painting to make up for her behaviour

Arashi

Just wait until you find out that the White Fang has an underground geofront beneath Kuo Kuna with giant robot mechs developed/stolen from Atlas that have to be piloted by traumatized 14 year olds because of poorly defined reasons by Adam's father. Let alone when you find out Atlas retaliates with biological kaiju Grimm because the whole city was actually replaced by shape-changing Grimm just after Weiss left so the whole nation is already under Salem's control and Weiss finds out she's the last human in the city. Speaking of Weiss, there's a belief that her performance wasn't actually that song (This Life is Mine on the Volume 4 OST, a very good one, highly recommended.) because as self-absorbed as Jackass Schnee is, even he would have noticed a song calling him out and giving him the metaphorical middle finger.

Arashi

Not quite, I think there is still one last character left in Blake's side to be seen. Though I may be mixing the intro to Volume 4 and 5. *ponders*

Dayash

You can watch the intro now btw!! The spoilers in it were up to Chapter 5 so you're in the clear now :)

RiekerVerse

I still think the funniest thing about learning more about where Blake comes from is it completely recontextualizes volume one, specifically her interactions with Weiss- Weiss acted like a princess, and carried her title of heiress like a badge of honour, meanwhile Blake is the daughter of the Chieftain of Menagerie, and therefore closer to actual being royalty than Weiss was, yet never acted like a princess

Liam Gradwell

Elijah bot is still keeping check on Mosco’s RWBY time. So cute. 😭🌈

Taigan

From the moment Blake knocked on her parents’ door, I was thinking “you show up at home after years away dragging a strange guy with you? ASSUMPTIONS ARE GOING TO BE MADE!”

Nihilero

I honestly just assumed the scorpion dude was gay

Nihilero

I assumed he was like, "oo a twink."

Todd Lucas

It's going to be hilarious to see Mosco's reaction to what the Grimm's name is...especially when it originates from Scotland to begin with. :)

Jonathan Morgan

Hey now, Pyrrha put a lot of effort into making that boy a Twunk

Diesel Marcus

My thoughts are that his semblance recognizes aura in others because his tail's poison supresses semblances and/or aura. Haven't seen past vol 6 chapter 1 so no spoilers but that was my take away from watching and rewatching with several reactors over the years.

Jittercritter

19:13 Funny you should mention that

Wilhelm Hedin

They're always just dropping the map.

Cambren Williams

I’m a fan I’ve been watching for a while now and I would like you to react to one of my favorite tv shows it’s called Huntik seekers and secrets 2 seasons of amazeballs and is a great show thought provoking and good story, characters and character development and you can watch it all on YouTube

Curtis Murphy

If it's the character you're talking about, how is it a spoiler to see them? They are a new character and we have no idea who the are. I get the argument over her parents or Sun. We would easily recognize them as her parents and it reveals Sun is following her. But if it's a new character, what does it spoil to show them?

Moonas

There is official full ver of "This life is mine" on yt (Weiss song) along with rest of the 9 albums.

CRuhl_Para_TPT911

Weiss’ song is beautiful and shows the talent of Casey Lee Williams and her fantastic singing. I figure Jaune is catching Tyrian’s interest since the psycho has some ability to read Aura’s and Jaune and his potential Semblance. “Always at the right time!” Funny you should say so, since it seems to be another part of Qrow’s Semblance.

SauceyRed

Oh my god I remember watching that on TV as a kid and I absolutely loved it! I did revisit some clips of it on YT somewhere in the last 6 or so years ago but I didn't actually decide to rewatch it.

SauceyRed

39:36 One of the great RWBY mysteries lmao (at least for me, I'm not sure if it's ever been confirmed what he meant)

Christopher Groenewald

The reason why Tyrian took an interest in Jaune was because Tyrian's semblance allows his attacks to bypass his target's aura. He took out Ruby and Ren each with a single strike, but for some reason his semblance didn't work on Jaune. He couldn't penetrate his aura.
