Back to the fairy tail, back to the show

BGTitan

"Watched the poor girl be ripped to shreds" Thanks Show! I was almost okay not thinking about Penny's death again! The gas station was also called Just Rite. So that's fun. The shaking on the hand seems to be a PTSD symptom. It's her first time being out since the Fall of Beacon, so naturally she's still having a time. I'm so excited for V5 you have no idea. There's so many moments that I'm just....eagerly waiting for you to get to. ....Well, that's true for the whole show but let's just focus on V5 for now.

Robert Hunter

"Mustache guy" is Dr. Arthur Watts, who will remain a prominent villain in future episodes, the lore won't be revealed until later in the series.

Moonas

And here we met The Cowardly Lion - aka Prof. Lionheart

Robert Hunter

BTW, Can't wait to see your reaction to Vol. 5/Ch. 8. Elijah said it was her personal favorite so far!

Spadeas

I think I said tha V4 was the grief volume, since both the crew and the characters were grieving their loss. But this one, I call it the Yang's volume, so you might very like it ^^.

CrowOfAFeather

"What happened between you two?" I mean, Blake was part of the WF and then she left in her first trailer while Ilia obviously stayed. And you saw that they were friends in Blake's Short. Some of the villages we saw last volume had been like that for years, it wasn't necessarily because of the negative emotions from watching. But it probably didn't help either... You guessed it, Relic of Choice is the one Beacon Academy keeps and Knowledge is under Haven Academy. Winter can open up the chamber to Creation and Summer can open up the chamber to Destruction. About Yang's hand shaking; definitely ptsd. This is her first "fight" since getting back into things. Sparring with your dad is one thing, but she hasn't gotten over what happened last time. They deliberatively made it so we couldn't tell where Yang was going, but at this point you've filmed a lot of V5 already lol ^^ Ruby wasn't the one who wrote "Bandits" on the signpost, that was just the locals hehe She wouldn't have any idea that Yang is coming anyway.

Magikltrevr

Fun fact: The guy who was harassing Yang is named Shay D. Mann. How appropriate.

Ann_Temki

Btw Mosco, you can watch the intro after episode 3-4

man-of-bvz1n3ss

Ah, yup, the Nuckelavee being Orcadian would ABSOLUTELY explain why Mosco doesn't know what it is. Edit: Also, Ozpin having Oscar walk into every single bar in Mistral to find Qrow is an absolutely hilarious mental image. BTW, there's six more World of Remnant episodes that came out after Volume 4 which you may not have seen.

Vince

Qrow walks like a bird 🤭 it’s the cutest

Ryan

The drawstrings on Jaune's hoodie are a subtle detail of how far the animation has come. Either they had the budget to animate them, or they have tools to automate the secondary motion. What happened between Blake and Ilia? Do you really think Yang in the library was the first time someone tried to use a laser pointer on her? And we finally meet the character based on Tigger! Why else would he be so bouncy? Mosco: "If I remember, I'll close my eyes and we'll jam out to the music together." Mosco: (immediately forgets)

Flufux

Fun fact: the creepy guy Yang met at the gas stop is officially named Shay D. Mann...as in Shady Man.

PheonixCantra

episode 7 for volume 6 and episode 4 for volume 7

PheonixCantra

ive seen this show so many times, how the hell did i miss that

Geass

There is only one new character in the opening. You won't have to wait long.

Dre

I do think Volume 5 moves too slow at times, but since Mosco is gonna be watching it two eps a session that’ll help.

Trivia’s & Goofs for V5EP1 * The title of the episode, "Welcome to Haven" parallels the episode title from Volume 2's "Welcome to Beacon", continuing the latest arc's nods to titles from The Beacon Arc. * The post-credits scene from "No Safe Haven" V4EP12 is reused in this episode. * The fuel station Yang stops at, "Just Rite", as well as her brief exchange with the Shay D. Man, is a reference to her Goldilocks allusion. * When Oscar remarks "You have silver eyes" to Ruby upon first seeing her, it is a callback to when Ozpin said the same words to Ruby in "Ruby Rose" V1EP1 * By the time Ruby's Group arrived in Haven, there were no students there because it was in-between semesters. * The scene with Qrow and team RNJR leaving Lionheart's office was originally going to transition to Yang's scene in the episode instead of the scene where Qrow meets Oscar. They decided to change it because they wanted to make sure everyone saw the scene and so everyone would have an idea of when it happened canonically * While the comics Ruby was reading remain unnamed, Lindsay Jones jokingly revealed that this specific comic was "Absolute Boyfriend". Harbinger (Qrow's Sword) disappears from Qrow's hand after Lionheart opens the door to his office. Harbinger then reappears later in the episode once Qrow and the rest of Team RNJR are seen inside Lionheart's office. At 18:55 The tooth that Yang knocked out of The Outlaw (Named Shay D. Mann 🤣) mouth does not appear to be missing when he was talking to her. But once he smiles, the tooth is nowhere to be seen. At 20:43 Crocea Mors (Juane's Sword) seems to have lost its features.

man-of-bvz1n3ss

Yeah, Yang is a very central character in this Volume.

man-of-bvz1n3ss

I don't think Elijah EVER learned his name.

man-of-bvz1n3ss

Backs to the wall and there's nowhere to go!

LawfulNugget

Not sure if this was answered somewhere else, but are you going to watch rwby chibi?

EmberPanther

Ok, so a couple of notes! When we see Yang’s hand shaking after punching the guy, that is a ptsd response because that was her first actual encounter after she lost her arm. Because if RWBY, I learned that it not uncommon for someone with ptsd who lost a limb to have their opposite limb be shaky or even painful when they are triggered. While it is very sad that Weiss couldn’t help the ship on the radio, it is very heartwarming to see her not only desperately want to help, but be genuinely distressed over other’s pain. In Volume 1 she was too defensive and closed off to ever show that, and I am really proud of her coming this far. ❤️ Fun fact: The movement for drunk Qrow was Mocapped by Jaune’s VA, and apparently it was hilarious to watch. 😂

Arashi

Ah... Shay D Mann. The best punching bag in Anima. Yang was (probably) shaking because it was a fight and she's still a bit off balance since the last time she actually fought someone, she lost badly. Even if Shay is not a realistic threat, it's still her first fight since Adam. Volume 5 has a tricky position for me. Story wise, I love it. But production/path wise... RNJR stays in that house the whole damn volume. Sure there's a lot of lore and interactions there, but the best parts of the story until the volume's finale is everyone else.

bloodyshadow1

If something bad happens to Weiss in the 5 remaining volumes, it is now officially your fault

James S

When Qrow and Raven met, Qrow said that she had to have someone very powerful on her side in addition Raven to have caused the kind of damage that he saw. Bandit clans in the RWBY universe can be fairly good fighters, but they're usually more of raiders and survivors who've adapted to finding ways to not get killed by the Grimm while living in the wilderness. The obvious havoc at the town that was destroyed by a combination of a bandit attack and the Grimm was something on a significantly larger scale than they're used to seeing from bandits, something that should be more than Raven can do alone. Hence Qrow's suspicion that the Maiden must be working with Raven, as Raven *and* someone with the raw power of a fully trained/activated Maiden would explain that kind of destruction.

Taigan

It’s fun when Mosco is right for the wrong reasons. 😉

Magikltrevr

Unless you're paying particular attention to the credits or someone else who did tells you, it's easy to miss.

Nightowl

That’s a bit of a spoiler.

CRuhl_Para_TPT911

Okay,…so I stand corrected about Ozpyn’s staff having,…another purpose. The guard wouldn’t really be hired by Ghirra. He is like the Grand Mayor of Menagerie. Just now with the threat of White Fang extremists he has now put members of the police/military on guard at the residence. As you said, the is the caring father and he will take every measure to protect his Princess of Menagerie. Nothing had to particularly happen on a personal level between Blake and Ilya. The very fact that Blake left and betrayed the White Fang is enough. It’s why Ilya hasn’t taken a particularly combative stance against Blake, being more sad than angry at Blake’s actions. Of course we have also seen that Ilya potentially quite ready to kill anyone, faunus included, as seen sticking Son with a through and through stab only just missed his heart. And likely NOT from lack of trying by Ilya. Right before Qrow scooped up his scroll, Leo was typing and I thought I saw some kind of “Download” on the screen. If so, hope it’s only just mining Qrow’s data and not loading another viral package (just what we could use next, a computer virus Grimm). And what is probably too much to hope for is Qrow taking note of what happened at Beacon to keeping altered data on his scroll just in case Salem’s faction tries another hack. Were you REALLY surprised that Mr. Sexual Harassment, Super Fun Ball (Now With EXTRA Bouncy Aura!!!), was bandit. Attitude, fashion sense, and likely dubious hygiene, positively screamed it.

Wilhelm Hedin

some of my best friends are orks 😂

Todd Lucas

Jesus....I have never seen someone make the connection to Raven being a maiden so fast! Elijah didn't even catch it!

Mare

Yang’s still got her PTSD

Cinder's Apologist

hehehehe so it begins... oh yeah, lots of good Raven stuff coming up, so you won't be disappointed! really looking forward to your reaction as to why Yang is going after Raven :3 also hilarious how you just don't trust anyone at this point, which is kinda valid but also endlessly funny in that paranoid sense. for example, the guard at the Belladonna house is fine so no threat there; it's just the White Fang people you gotta worry about in Menagerie. and yeah, Lionheart is definitely compromised; the why and how will possibly shock you. I am a huge fan of Yang's punch in that scene. makes me laugh every time watching that jackass go all bouncy ball right out the door. bonus trivia: his name is Shay D. Mann so do what you will with that.

JAMES D'ALESSANDRO

The first village we saw destroyed was destroyed by Raven and her tribe. Qrow brought that up when he confronted her about her having the Spring Maiden. The one after was not destroyed but unfinished. Leo could be lying about how many people died seeing how we now know works for Salem.

KimSea009

Every time Yang punches Shay D. Mann it brings a smile to my face

Phoenix_mercury

havent got to it yet but casper was also on the ball with that lol

Arashi

I never said it wasn't PTSD. Just how it seemed, to me, that Mosco was interpreting it. She wasn't shaking because a man got close. It was because there was a fight (even if she started it). Yang never showed anything close to that reaction except in a fight.

Diesel Marcus

Wait . . . . That's his name??? THAT MAKEW IT SO MUCH BETTER!!! XD

Diesel Marcus

Same. The fights, the character moments, PEAK.

Wootcat

That's what they wanted you to think. Complete misdirection by the animation team re: the direction they made it look like Yang was headed at the signpost.

Tallulahbell

To quote general Patton "A good plan executed violently now, is better than a perfect plan executed next week."

Obiwan Cornobi

Qrow's posture when he's walking is very reminiscent of how crows stand when they hop around.
