The fact that Weiss survived that crash landing completely unsecured and after using up most of her aura to fight and protect that ship shows how much more resilient a huntress/huntsman is compared to a normal person. Weiss is often depicted as a bit of a glass cannon compared to the others but she lived and I'm pretty sure the pilot, who was buckled in and wearing a helmet, did not.

No you got it, that's Arthur Watts. Salem just wants him to fix Tyrian's tail first. The silver eyes don't have the ability to remove Maiden Powers, but if you recall, Cinder used a particular glove to gain half of Amber's Fall Maiden Powers back in the V3 flashback. :) "She's got such a cool character design we just got her!" Yeah...exactly what we all felt back then. :( "Why a rose?" Well, Beauty and the Beast and all... Great reaction and as always, can't wait for the next one!

Man, Sienna Khan…such a great design, potential to be an interesting character, and of course Adam fucks it all up. I’d love to take on the idea of what could have been if she survived, but getting the creativity out is a hell of a task for me these days. Maybe some day soon…

Dr. Watts is Arthur. Same person. I think we have a bit of a ‘sometimes the curtain are just blue’ situation with the lighting in the Salem and Cinder scene. I’m not sure it does mean anything. At least nothing that I picked up. Adam has always had the rose on the back of his coat, it’s just a little more prominent now with the redesign. He’s supposed to be the cursed rose/Gaston from Beauty and the Beast. Considering the last time we saw Tyrian he'd told Salem that he'd poisoned and essentially killed Qrow, that "word" she wanted with him wasn't going to be good since she just found out Qrow is very much alive. I've always liked the idea of Gravity Dust giving this world naturally floating islands. Such a cool idea. And also, a neat backdrop to our first big aerial fight (I guess the Sea Feilong happened last volume but that only half counts?). This Life is Mine kicking in when Weiss summons the knight is also just.... peak. Absolute cinema. And then.... man. I hate that they killed Sienna. I genuinely do. Such a cool design. Such a cool character. And then freakin Adam ruins everything... as he so often does. And in the same episode where Salem brought up "never underestimating the usefulness of others". Goodbye Sienna, you will always be famous. Raven! Hi! How you been? Kicking teenagers in the face? Cool, cool. Love you, babe, truly, but maybe try...not doing that? Maybe? Poor Weiss has had a bit of a time.

I absolutely love the scene where Weiss uses her knight to kill the Queen Lancer, and “This Life is Mine” playing in the background is the perfect touch to emphasize how strong she has become! My first reaction when I saw the bandits was the same as yours, and I just thought “Really?!?! She hasn’t been through enough?!” With her being captured by Raven, it shouldn’t be anywhere near as horrible, and I am super excited for the next scenes with Yang! Poor Weiss is just fighting to get back HOME to her team who actually care about her, and she not only crashed after a huge areal fight, but she also got captured by bandits, and judging by Raven’s line she’s gonna be used for profit in some way. Hazel is by far my favorite character in Salem’s circle, partly because of his voice which I think is cool, but also because he seems to be the diplomat of the group, which I find fascinating!

Salem just referred to him as both "Arthur" and "Doctor Watts" in the same convo. first time I've seen that level of analysis for the scene with Cinder and Salem... not sure what to make of it myself, and I've watched the entire show many times. but good to consider! and don't stop over-analyzing; it's why I subbed to the patreon here! welcome to the Sienna Khan Deserved Better Club. we have lots and lots of jackets - and tissues. unfortunately, her death was kinda foreshadowed toward the end of v4... when Ghira confirms that Blake and Sun were right to be suspicious of the White Fang presence in Menagerie, he says that the scroll unveiled Adam's plans: overthrow the WF leader (Sienna) and stage an attack on Haven. and not-so-fun fact: Sienna's death is a moment that CRWBY fully admits they mishandled and regret how it played out. many before you loved Sienna's design and were rightly miffed when she got whacked in her very first appearance. the showrunners have acknowledged this - it comes up in the v5 commentary. no, there is no connection between Ruby and Adam. he is the Cursed Rose... remember Beauty and the Beast? keep that in mind >.>

All the zippers on the costumes serve one purpose - to make the riggers suffer. Either they're part of the texture map, so they have to be careful with the deformations to avoid warping, or they're modeled geometry, so they have to be careful with the deformations to avoid warping. Either way, it's hard work. But it's important for the riggers to suffer. Because as they say; suffering builds character.

Adam, Blake and Yang share a bunch of themes regarding Beauty and the Beast tbqh; Adam encompasses the cursed rose, the callousness of pre curse Prince Adam, the rage of post curse Adam, and the possessiveness and spite of Gaston; Blake encompasses the characterization of Belle, in both beauty and her love of books, but also being a faunus, the aspects of Beast's 'beastly' form, whereas Yang also has aspects of Beast's anger, but also Beast's protective strength, and Belle's beauty ("Black the beast descends from shadows, Yellow Beauty burns gold")

I guess I'll copy and paste what I mentioned on Elijah's reactions when she was covering the same episodes: Regarding Adam, Blake and the whole Beauty and the Beast allusion, here's some snippets of interviews from both the RWBY Official Companion guide as well as Amity Arena game: (Taken from the World of RWBY Companion guide p124) Miles Luna: "We called Blake ‘Beauty and the Beast,’ but when you take a step back you start to wonder if Adam is really the ‘beast’ in their relationship. Then the further back you go, you start to see Adam as Gaston, as the Cursed Rose -- really Adam is just a blight on the lives of our heroes,” Adam fits into Blake's story arc in different roles but his main role is the "cursed rose." (Adam Taurus' Official RWBY Amity Arena Game Card data.) "Adam Taurus used to gaze up at the sky with bright blue eyes whenever he could, between shifts in the dust mines, dreaming of the day he would leave the tunnels behind to find his place in the world. Yeah...I always hated the fact that they only gave us Sienna just to kill her mere minutes later. I wanted to see more of her dynamic, and possibly change her stance to maybe be open to accepting interaction with humans....if not totally doing a 180 and not hating humans totally. But I also do like Hazel....big guy that has the strength to take on any fight, but doesn't WANT to fight. He would rather talk and reason things out.

RIP Sienna Khan. One of the coolest designs and potential as a character, taken away from us in the same episode we get introduced to her. Even CRWBY regret this decision later on, as they didn't know that the FNDM would've loved her design as much as they did. Another reason to hate Adam, as if we didn't have enough reasons to hate him.

Weiss's singing voice is done by the same woman that sings all the songs in the show. So an argument can be made that in universe, all these songs (intros, combat music, etc) are all sung by Weiss.
