Haven’t even started yet, but I can’t wait for this reaction

ChristianK

Whenever Season 4 Episode 5 gets mentioned I feel like a sleeper agent being woken up and get immediate flashbacks 😅🤣

Justin Riley

In which Mark learns to use his head.

Jlp

Good thing is the city they started in is still evacuated. Can't say the same for everywhere else they fought.

Karla

nice and early!!!

Liam Gradwell

To me, Conquest is the most best example of “Toxic Masculinity Gone Bad”. 😱

Karla

this season's title card is actually based off the surviving 8 invincible variants!

Some Simp

21:18 any potential that oliver had before died after that slap And it only goes downhill from there

Amadeo Escobedo

Trying to appreciate the animation through gore ridden scenes is hilarious

Wilo

They're in an evacuated area, So casualties are fairly limited until miami

AZTEC NINJA

Episodes like this reminds you of something.... some poor bastard had to draw and animate these scenes 🤣

Anri Wickers

the reason conquest blew the blood bubble was to show that he is loving fighting mark

Sweet N Savory Venom

Viltrumites don't breath in space, they're just able to hold their breath for weeks.

Santa Sett

man im used to most brutal stuff of the show but that "episode" was just wild

Wilo

Sinclair is working on reanimen made from the corposes of the alternate invincibles, That's why their muscles were as strong as steel

xattygt

Trust me when I tell you that refusing to call him Rex wont upset anyone

Santa Sett

stealing his dna wasn't enough, he also wanna take his name too that sure give me a the big ick rudy

JakeArtist13

I do agree with your opinion on Rudy changing his name to Rex, it’s always felt weird to me.

John Hannon

The look on Eve's face for "Do I look like I need to walk?" Is unhinged and I am here for it. As far as Eve though, she is so frustratingly underutilized. No she can't mess with organic matter, but she can turn the air in your lungs to plasma. She can enclose your entire body in a brick of neutron star...

Omer Zauber

That "interesting voice" is the same VA of Monster Girl, Eve's mother and Shrinking Rae

Onopono

The voice actress whose name you recognized was Azula herself, Grey Delisle. She voices a TON of characters on this show including Shrinking Rae, Monster girl, Eve’s mom, and a bunch of others.

Crusader688

Eve didn't have a prosthetic or robot limb or anything else, she was just wearing a fancy leg cast, either one from the GDA or maybe one she generated herself after waking up. The evil Invincible didn't completely destroy her leg, only broke it, and it was still healing. You are one of the few reactors who realized quickly that Alan and Nolan weren't going to show up to save Mark from this fight. A lot of others seemed convinced that that was the only way Mark could survive the fight and were confused when they never appeared. Last we saw of them, they were heading back to the Coalition homework to report to Thaedus about the Viltrumite weaknesses, they had no idea about Conquest and had no urgency to return to Earth. If anything, Nolan is avoiding returning to Earth to face the people he hurt, he doesn't want to bring Mark and Oliver into the war. For Cecil keeping Conquest alive, it's a bad idea made for understandable reasons. As you realized yourself, Cecil has no idea that fewer than 50 Viltrumites remains, nor does he know fir sure that Conquest was one of the strongest of them. For all he knew, they have thousands more at that level or stronger, who sooner or later will be dispatched to determine what happened to Conquest and avenge him. There's a definite pattern of escalation on the Viltrumite's part in the agents they send to Earth, whatever comes next will probably not be survivable. From his perspective, preserving Conquest's life and risking him breaking free is a reasonable gamble since they have little to lose at this point, they'll all be dead either way once the retribution comes. Of course this is not the case, if Cecil knew that there would be no legion of additional Conquests coming after Earth and Conquest actually represented >=2% of their remaining superpowered forces, then his risk calculus might have been different. But Cecil is in the dark and desperate for any advantage, and severely underestimated Conquest's strength (it probably didn't help that the fight moved too fast to easily watch it, and Conquest was holding back for much of it).

DieWinterkirsche

The thing is, I get why Mark has overthought his "no-kill-rule"... Angstrom (even if Mark thought he killed him) has fucked with everyone TWICE (Especially with the whole Invincible-War thing) and now he´s out there and Mark knows he´s alive... and then there was the whole incident on the home planent of Olivers birth mom... Mark hesitated to be more brutal and it got him almost killed and (as far as he knows rn) it got his dad killed AND it kinda brought Conquest and Anissa to earth... So, yeah, Mark, I get you!

TheCasualNerd

S4e5 drinking? If thats the one I think... oh god. RIP Mosco

KingCurze

I know dead naming is wrong, but I also believe that every rule has an exception. And this is that exception, I'm not calling him Rex.

LikeCat

Plus a certain "magic user" in a certain high fantasy show. 😉

DiamondDawg

Yeah a lot of people don't like the name change everyone including me still call him Rudy/Robot. Also we learned all that limitations on Eve back on her special. Her saying it to Mark was more of a refresh for the audience and for people who didn't see the special. Great reaction. I predicted this would be the hardest ep for you to get through. S4 does not have an ep that's consistently this brutal throughout.

Karla

the cyberborgs that sinclair is making are using the corpses of the dead invincible variants!

Omegon

you are 100% right about Rudy. Changing the name to Rex is fucking weird.

DiamondDawg

I have to say not to spoil S4 but with how that season ends now is the best time to watch and catch up because that ending is more effective when you have to wait for the next season.

l4zer

what you said about mark "snapping" and becoming stronger because he's half viltrumite is really interesting because most media in this realm attribute that to humans having adrenaline and aliens dont. Its the reason gohan has the potential to be stronger than goku and vegeta, unfortunately dbz fans rejected that idea in favor of goku always being the focus. naruto explored a similar theme in the uchiha clan who formed stronger emotional bonds to find greater power. when conquest says getting mad wont help "thats not how this works". that is in fact how it works in humans, of which mark is half. just like dbz though the writers of invincible dont want actually use that as a plot device.

Marceline_mother

If you didn't notice, the "cyborgs" Sinclair has are dead Invincibles from the last episode

Rixec2

Mark crying for Cecil when Eve was hurt really shows how desperate he was. He'd bene distancing himself from Cecil all season, and even when Cecil wanted him to lead the Guardians, mark refused but said he could be called if needed. Mark threw away all his pride because he cared about Eve that much. And Cecil isn't actually bringing Conquest back to life. Conquest is still alive despite all that. Cecil is just keeping him on life support to get answers from him.

Rachel Mae

Conquest is the peak of the male loneliness epidemic And no i hated the Rex thing too. Still kinda do

BakaSama

Mosco, you can’t die yet. You still haven’t had Spaghetti. Also, I’m pretty sure if this had been the drinking episode, she wouldn’t have made it.

Speed1247

55:20 That's not how a deathbed confession is meant to go conquest.

Marceline_mother

First time I really felt sick watching something

Meãjay

Yeah I’m glad that you weren’t a fan of the whole Rudy changing his name to Rex because yeah that’s beyond weird. I ain’t calling him that and neither is anyone else. What’s crazy about this whole thing is that I get there’s a lot going on but I was waiting for him to get some pushback on this decision. But he barely did when he stole his DNA, so why bother with his name. Mind you, Rex had nothing. He said back in season one that his childhood suck after he saw Rudy made a child version of himself. And two episodes ago when Rae asked him to join her, he refused because being a hero and his name was the only thing he had left of his identity. But then he died a hero and now Rudy basically taken the last thing Rex actually had to himself. I’m not saying he didn’t have geniune intentions, but that doesn’t make this feel any less wrong. The worst part is that whatever Robot does in the future would either elevate or tarnish Rex’s good name.

Marceline_mother

Now you understand why "Rex" was in the Robot suit in the future

Sergio Bolden

Fan fact about viltrumites Cecil doesn't have to bring Conquest back to life, as long as a viltrumite's brain or heart isn't destroyed they could heal from just about anything.

Eco Unlogical

Don’t you worry, I don’t know ANYONE who willingly calls Rudy Rex.

Neil Prospect

The voice you asked about was Grey DeLisle. Season 4 Episode 5 is my favorite episode of the show. It's maybe my favorite piece of media of the year, maybe longer. The consensus on Rudy changing his name to Rex is that everyone hates it, so you're with the majority on that. Even the creator agrees that Rudy changing his name is weird and kind of dickish. I'm pretty sure the explanation is just that Rudy is a tube boy who doesn't understand how humans work and so he legitimately thinks this is a way of honoring him. But yea, the fandom and creator all agree it's deeply weird and off-putting.

EDHPlayer

It does take training though. Mark in season 1 still had to use a suit when he went to Mars

EDHPlayer

Even in the comic it felt off, since we weren't shown that Rex and Rudy were not all that close

Carter Dohoney

To clarify, Viltrumites cannot breathe in space. What they CAN do is make one lungful of air last for several weeks, if not months. You can't starve them of air in a reasonable amount of time mid-fight just with enclosure, but if you can drive the air out of their lungs and prevent them from taking another breath, THEN they'll suffocate in the same span of time as a normal person.

Amoore Lord

Believe me, you are not alone with the Rex name thing. It's like the ONE part everyone in the community agrees on.

James Rabbit

So, i think you made the right call there with which episode to drink to. Like, the stuff in Season 4, Episode 5 is worse, but there's a lot more individual things in this episode that you would flinch at. And since the dare is to drink every time you flinch, not based on how badly you flinch, you've spared your liver quite a bit.

Akka

Probably the scariest part about this is that despite how powerful he was, Conquest was taking orders from someone. He is viltrimute equivalent of the nuclear option when all else has failed. Season 4 is going to be absolutely wild.

iKirbeeburgr

I don’t think she’s ready for the sketti 😅

iKirbeeburgr

That wasn’t a prosthetic on Eve, it was just a cast over her broken leg

Tarot-Sovereign

Poor Mosco. You didn't ask to be part of all this hyper violence, viscera and broken bodies, world. But, now you've come too far to stop.

The Civil Merc

Naw Conquest doesnt eat hearts...hes more of a fan of pasta 🍝

Neil Marshall

I'd love to hear more about how taking a name from a dead person gives you the ick. I think I get it intuitively. I'm comforted knowing (Rex formerly Rudy's clone) is (intention) reclaiming a part of Rex Sloane's name never changed before he was bought and rebranded, a symbolic part the character felt he'd lost

Lauren Madden

Yeeeeaah, I don’t think anyone liked the name change or like, the motionless poses at the funeral. I know most of the budget went in the fighting scenes but like, they’re all just standing with their arms down like NPC’s.

William Wilson

It is unfortunate that eve’s abilites are very inconsistent, she’s basically as strong as the plot needs her to be and as creative as the writers are. With Rudy calling himself Rex, I also kind of hate it entirely. I think if it was something like calling himself Sloan that could’ve been a cool nod to show that they are actually close. Because then it would be robot keeping who Rex truly was since I believe his name was Rex Sloane before being sold off to the government and becoming Rex Splode

Tristan N Milner

Ah, you'll be fine. Besides, there's still over 150 episodes of MLP: FiM to comfort you. Plus the movie. And the spin off series. And the specials. Edit: 188 episodes left from her last upload. 10:50 the anime she's referencing is Kimba The White Lion, Jungle Emperor in Japanese, which aired Oct 1965 to Sept 1966 with 52 episodes. Also the first in color animated series made in Japan.

Kane_Zou

I’m so glad we ALL agree, Rex is dead. Robot will always be robot sometimes rudy to me, I know he’s technically human but he’s so detached from human emotions and situations it’s hard to like him

Radley Carter

Dont worry about refusing to call him Rex. As much as fans of the show/comic argue over every topic under the sun in Invincible, that is not one you really see much disagreement on. Feels like almost nobody was on board with calling him Rex because you just dont someone doing it that often.

CD 77

I always thought that Mark going "super saiyan" was more of a human thing than a viltrumite thing. We never really saw Nolan or any other Viltrumite loose it in the same way. Also Conquest said that getting mad doesn't work for getting stronger in his mind. So maybe it is more of a human adrenalin thing that Viltrumites don't use/have. But then again Viltrumites and Humans seem pretty similar to each other if they could procreate with each other sucsessfully... idk

Tim R

Very funny you mentioned that Conquest would love Battle Beast, BB recently got his own run of prequel comics and he actually fights Conquest!

Matthew Haworth

You keep talking about when Mark gets "angry". It's not confirmed by the creators yet but the leading fan theory is that since Mark is half human he has adrenaline whereas Viltriumites don't. This is why he gets so much stronger when he gets angry compared to when conquest said "getting mad doesn't make you stronger", for regular Viltriumites it doesn't, but for Mark it does. There's also other unrelated reasons... but spoilers. that'll only probably show up season 5 or 6. P.S. This episode was like Christmas morning for The Walking Dead fans

SauceyRed

17:56 Oh Mosco, still acting like we can see where you're pointing, never change lmao 24:12 It reminded me of Minecraft lmao 52:02 Okay so she definitely forgot the Eve special, 'cause I was here waiting for her "avatar state" to kick in Okay yeah I just went to double check that she did watch it, because I was surprised she still didn't remember it after Eve mentioned it happening before 1:02:05 I NEED to see her reaction to her realizing/noticing those bodies are the Invincibles from the other dimension, grahhh! 1:07:37 Well that explains why his version from the future was called Rex despite clearly being Robot/Rudy, not a huge fan but ig we'll see where it goes 1:08:50 Ah yeah there you go haha 1:14:55 I was also thinking it might have something to do with her powers after that fight, but idk why whatever it is would happen now and not back then, unless the more she uses her full power the more "it" (whatever it is) happens 1:19:02 Damien Darkblood! I forgot about him! YIPPEE!! He became one of the most interesting characters to me from the first time we met him

Adrian Lee

Voice of the scientist u recognize is the voice of Azula from Avatar The Last Airbender

Jessica V

I'm so excited for you to watch season . It's my favorite season so far

Wilo

I mean it makes sense for where his character goes later

Rowan

Oh y'all are sick for setting Mosco up to do the challenge for s4 ep5 😭😭😭 praying for her liver and her sanity

Chloe Small

Re: Conquest ♪ This is a different beast now. He is the one who feasts now. Much more of us deceased cause He won't take more suffering from you. He, the Viltrum-made monster He is the one who conquers You are a threat no longer He won't take more suffering from you. ♪

CM

Yeah. I don't usually think of myself as being squeamish, but that episode genuinely made me feel nauseous.

CM

Be assured, no one is going to be upset by you refusing to call Rudy by the name 'Rex'. It's fucking weird.

Aunty Whispers

Not calling him Rex is fair because….ya, it’s weird…..but I at least give them Rudy based on everything Robot has also been through. Their existence was its own nightmare and Rudy not getting socially appropriate moves is a big part of their arc

ChristianK

Also, Season 4 Episode 5 to me, is the best episode in the series, it has the extreme violence but the also the most emotional moment in the show. I can't wait for you to see it for yourself Mosco!!

Crusader688

It's weird, but kinda in character for Robot, whose knowledge of social norms and ability to read a room has always been kinda lacking. I can see how he would personally think of it as a way to show his respect, and not realize how others might see it as offputting. We already saw this with him cloning Rex in the first place, he seemed surprised by how the others reacted.

iCommentToPlay

30:07 - you might be thinking of the word "bionic"! Prosthetic still works!

Wilhelm Hedin

Jeffrey Dean Morgan is amazing as Conquest ❤️ (Neegan from Walking Dead)

Wilhelm Hedin

No, taking Rex's name feels a bit icky.

Wilhelm Hedin

If you had been drinking for every flinch it would have been bad.

Nicholas J Hoover

I think we are going straight in because that's what's happening for Mark. it evokes the experience for us

Tgriff02

If Ever were willing to kill, she could turn the air in Conquest's lungs to concrete or metal or something. Likely he's be stron enough to break it but it'd still be lungs full of gravel/metal shards

Tgriff02

I agree with you on Rudy taking Rex's name. Taking what we've see of Rudy's personality and way of thinking, I get it. I believe he was genuine in his reasoning. It's still not acceptable.

DoctorVancouver

I love when Mosco is explaining the camera movement and 3D building she is pointing at her screen like we can see it, lol.

John Hannon

I've been in a number of roles where there was a real (if slight) chance I was going to have to use lethal force to stop a threat, and I have long ago accepted that if it ever came to that, no matter how evil, dangerous or terrible they were, I'd be done for that kind of work after it. While I absolutely accept there is a time and place where killing in necessary (at least for the poor folks who have to do it, the leaders that create that situation are another issue entirely), but I know I couldn't be psychologically healthy after ending a life. I could do it, but I'd spend the rest of my life trying to get past it (which I feel is reasonable and healthy that it takes a lifetime to accept that you cut one short).

Wealthy Toad

Not me paying to watch her get traum and also unintentionally retraumatizing myself because oh my God this was so much worse than I remembered Q^Q (like 90% the Oliver scene)

Animegirl

You flinched 57 times. Think if you had to take a shot each flinch (57 times this episode). Just wait til s4e5.

Katatonic-stranger

Only mostly evacuated. There were still people there working on clean-up.

Katatonic-stranger

Only if they get medical treatment though. If you leave them in a state where they can't put themselves back together, then they'll never heal properly. Put them in a hospital and yeah, 99% dead is still 100% alive but leave them 99% dead in the middle of nowhere without anyone to heal them, and their resilience just means they'll take a lot longer to fully die than anyone else. And I mean 100% Viltrumites too, not people like Mark and Oliver, who probably heal even slower (though still rapidly compared to a human)

Katatonic-stranger

And a good example of when men are victims of the patriarchy too. Like he's the best example of what men are expected to be, and that makes him absolutely miserable. That's why we all love Carl. He escaped that toxic Viltrumite mindset and finally found happiness.

Katatonic-stranger

I still remember being confused as hell reading Rudy's wiki page, and it just started calling him Rex halfway through. Like it briefly mentioned the name change, but it still confuses the hell out of you when it doesn't clarify if it's talking about Robot or Rex post-mortem.

Katatonic-stranger

And we know Viltrumites would never take orders from someone weaker than them. In our world, even in ancient times, you could understand a powerful warrior taking orders from someone who's smarter, richer, or a better leader. In Viltrumite culture, if you can kill your boss, then you just kill him and take his position, and everyone agrees it was the best outcome.

Pikagirl

I still don't like that Rudy changed his name to Rex.
