I was so afraid of this episode going into it. I hadn’t yet gotten enough respect for the showrunners that I kept expecting them to fall into tropes for “girls’ shows.” When I knew they’d be doing a Valentine’s Day episode, I dreaded watching our main characters pining after some guy. Or worse, fighting over one. But, to my surprise, the Mane Six are almost completely absent. And the “romantic couple” it focuses on aren’t even willing participants. Kudos for defying expectations.

Anyone think if Lyra actually met a human they'd try to capture her either for a carnival freak show or to sell to scientists for crazy experiments? Obviously, Bon Bon would come save her. Much like werewolves, humans are creatures whose existence can be believed in, but should not be approached. We're scary.

Knowing how much you like strong blonde women and it's the Halloween season, I would heartily recommend watching 2000's Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust. Not as gory as the Helluverse or Invincible but not for kids.

This was never my favourite episode, but it certainly gave us some of the best Brony fandom memes, most notably the pony who's "strangely obsessed with tubs of jelly" and Sweetie Belle's "Oh, come on!!", first uttered from the bush beside the gazebo! Not to mention the introduction of the character Button Mash, the fan-named colt playing video games during the song. Also, you're going to grow to LOVE Lyra Heartstrings (the pony on your t-shirt), but you'll need to watch a few more seasons before you'll understand why.
