Hey you might be expecting our Media Club Plus episode of The Happening today. Well maybe that will happen or maybe actually it will be out tomorrow. Who could say? But What I do have is this: Me, Sylvi, Ali, Art, and Austin watched the genuinely surprisingly bad adaptation of the Avatar: The Last Airbender cartoon. I really truly didn't think it would be this bad. It gets almost nothing right about what a movie should be.

I’m so happy that Spooky Keith was in this one. Edit: I’m shocked that y’all let the movie gaslight you into thinking this is how all the character names are pronounced. I love Sohka and Ong.

Joseph Reed

This is maybe the worst insturctions I've ever recived to sync up a video. Like its hard, but I was so confused.

Joseph Reed

The bit about the stars was a bit more helpful. I did have a chuckle though

Jordan LaRose

I don't know if this is mentioned later in the episode, but Keith's recollection of a wizard book where someone with powers kills simply by breaking a blood vessel was, funnily enough, also a thing in Eragon (though I'm sure this is all over fiction)

Valos Lowe

I was having flashbacks to solving point-and-click adventure puzzles lol

B.E. Albert

I truly can't tell if art is doing a bit or not at 41 minutes omg

Select Screen

A new MC+ bonus reminded me to look, was there ever a bonus ep on the Cell saga and the HxH movie? I thought I remembered hearing talk of doing those but I can’t seem to find them on Patreon. No big deal if y’all didn’t find time to record those, these are bonuses after all, just making sure I’m not dumb and missing them some place obvious.

Friends at the Table

i definitely would have read it in Eragon but i think actually i was thinking of Children of the Lamp. it's a series but i would have only read one book from it

somehow a THIRD mousehunt incident has hit the podcast

Bungerklaus

I synced this up with a really crappy DVD rip with blown out audio and it was probably the best possible viewing experience anyone could have. :)

this is how i learned that LMFAO is an uncle nephew duo… harrowing…

Sabrina A

the best part was me waking up on the couch and promptly hearing Allie say “if i was in the movie theater… the way i would be asleep right now…” 11/10 podcast 0/10 movie

Genevieve Theberge

i laughed so hard my stomach hurt multiple times. Ideal watching experience was having movie volume so low i basically couldn't hear a word unless you were all perfectly silent. the movie washed over me in much the same way it did not wash over those ships at the end.

Ratprints

I enjoyed watching along immensely. Mostly listening along tbh, I was colouring in. My sister and I were really upset when we watched this in cinema as young adults who were very excited for a cartoon we liked to have an adaptation (and we just, didn't hear any reviews prior to going). So it didnt really deserve to be looked at too much again.

Mitch Graham

what a dogshit movie. y'all talking about it really snapped my attention back to it. Was there a single effect that worked well? Was there a single narrative arc? Nothing there at all. Not even a bad movie, but a collection of bad scenes. Incredible.

TrueLily

I was SO little when I watched this movie in theaters with my brother. I think this is the way I learned that movies can be bad.

Jacob Magraw

Took the recommendation and did not watch this movie. Thanks!

TrueLily

It was so fun to hear a Rare Type Of Ali on this episode, she's just so ANNOYED with this movie, she sounds so mad, which is an incredible representation of how I FEEL watching this movie. What a fucking awful movie.

If book 2 had ever been made... would it have been Bryce Dallas Howard as Avatar Kyoshi Great podcast thank you

jo

where I paused to sync was exactly correct before yall said how many stars there should be. The 13th star was exactly on the T. powerful moment
