I'm in the Minneapolis area, lived around there for nearly three decades now. I was not there, this information is from the internet, it needs to be verified. The guy completely dressed in black, wearing tactical (police/military?) boots, black goves and a god damn GAS MASK, hiding himself from cams with an umbrella, who smashed the first windows and t Autozone with a hammer and started the looting in MINNEAPOLIS- Is said to be a ST. PAUL police officer. (Why would he be in Minneapolis? Good question...) Named as Jacob Pederson, it is said his ex wife ID'd him and his gear when a friend saw pictures of him, thentexted her asking if the guy was her ex husband "Jake". https://youtu.be/qv-O4rnUToU

South Africa seems worthy of an episode of its own. These days, their famously strict covid-19 lockdown is becoming exhibit A on how futile and counter-productive lockdowns can be in a society which is fundamentally dysfunctional to begin with (many candidates for exhibit B, C, D and E in this gallery). Queues for food handouts stretching for miles – literally miles. Riots in the US and Americas; bad omen…

Great interview! Loving the recent string of Africa content. RWN once again bringing the wisdom of old Italian men to the masses.

This was great. What a talented historian and raconteur.

The narrative in the Deep South was “our Nigras were happy and content until these outside agitators came along and stirred them up”.

Italy, birthplace of humanism, has wonderful scholars, I think.

Absolutely wonderful interview, a great topic that is basically lost to mainstream history already! Thank you guys for telling these stories.

There's a superb new, two-part documentary “Kuba im globalen Spiel” in German, covering Cuba’s extraordinary military expeditions, with testimony from Cuban vets, diplomats etc. The original English title is “Cuba: The Revolution And The World”. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kOcAjQwoNvU&

Reading Aviva Chomsky's History of the Cuban Revolution right now, it's a pretty short book and at the same time great primer on Cuban history during and after the 1959 Revolution.

Random thought: maybe you guys should do an episode about the Black Panthers, would be in line with this awesome trend I've noticed of you talking more and more about the Third World movement, and left internationalism. Black Against Empire is a great book to start with if anyone's curious.
