Is Aamer coming up with these titles? Or are one of you guys workshopping these bits with Brendan? I can think of way more Gulf falconry jokes than actual information, looking forward to rectifying that.

Technically, the weapon on a technical has to be at least of the category considered to be "crew served", heavy/bulky enough so one man can't carry the weapon, any required firing support and ammunition. Technically.

Dan L

something that is technically a technical is not a technical

Great episode. But Mark, I take the gravest possible offense at describing Heat as a "B Movie." It's one of the best movies of the 1990s!

John Waaben

Thank you for a bird themed episode

Dan Greene

When this popped up on my feed I initially assumed it was a TrueAnon ep based on the title

Jimothy Realname

Interesting. So even if you mounted a dozen light machine guns on a pickup truck, it still wouldn't be a technical. But then what would it be?

Robert Rowe

I have seen pictures of multiple LMGs (Lewis guns) mounted coaxialy on a pintle for AA defense, pre WWII... If you think 1 man could use, transport and supply ammo for your multiple LMG technique, I guess that a vehicle carrying it technically isn't a technical.

Re: Heat. In this (~2010 ) Belgian documentary, there is a young Parisian delinquent who energetically descibes how Heat inspired him to start his armed robbery career. https://youtu.be/DXhZx7V5vKc circa 30.20

Also, not sure it's a B movie either :)

Great ep. I like that Aamer, as a Khaliji, is able to really understand how blackly hilarious the lives and foibles and extravagances of these royals are - my father talks about the saudis coming to his beachside village in Lebanon in the 60s for feasts, and the little kids would run down when they left and carry home entire meals of untouched roast chickens, bread, rice, pastries, etc. Like Russians, they lack any of the shame about their wealth that you may find with a certain brand of American.

Wow. I wish royalty would come and visit my neighborhood. I mean, ironically, I live in northern Virginia, where all these people send their kids to school, but while they might be as close as a couple miles away or less they might as well be in a different galaxy. You never see them, and none of their money ever trickles down to regular people.

I for one am glad to see so many folks here standing up for Heat. Waingro will really appreciate it.
