Caden Paige

Woohoo season 8 lets go!! Thank you guys!🤩

KandyRenee

Damn isn’t this spoiler?

Alecia S

Just a heads up, mods will def ask you to delete this comment. They don’t allow cussing or acronyms with cussing.

Lindymay

That T-shirt :D

Mel Issa

The hints were Ned was said to be honorable . Ned told Jon he has his blood but didn’t say he was his son. Even Benjin in the first episode asked Jon if he knew what he was giving up by joining the Nights Watch. There’s a video I saw on YouTube a million years ago about how Ned & House Dayne set up the backstory into Jon’s birth and his mother in Dorne

Marisa Pardo

Happy Halloween y’all. Addison I see you in the Jaime Lannister drip. 😝

Vlad Blue

Not going to lie I did figure out John’s momma a season before it was revealed but I never put two and two together about who his daddy was.

Marilyne M.

Only for those who have not been in tune with the show or the books ;)

Marilyne M.

Not going to lie, I want the I <3 Cersei shirt 🤩

One Blacque Gyrl

The one thing I just can’t believe they haven’t talked about(or no one has mentioned) is how aegon targaryen is the prince that was promised…. Putting HOTD prophecy together An entire war was started because Alicent misunderstood the king was speaking about Jon

One Blacque Gyrl

*** and I’m only mentioning this cause I know they’ve seen HOTD

jazzyjane

Do you think Rhaegar and Lyanna were wrong for what they did? The more I think about it the more I feel they were wrong. Their actions caused a crazy ripple effect but gave us Jon Snow so I don’t know lol.

TDaTruthReacts

YALL TRIPPING NED SHOULD HAVE NEVER LEFT THE TOP CHARACTER LIST 😭

Sarah Rosa

Ned is the most goated character of the show

Sarah Rosa

I’ve only seen ONE reactor that figured out Jon’s parentage before it was told

RedFoxx

Hi guys! I just wanted to mention the irony about Jon’s parentage is that Alliser Thorne loved and respected Rhaegar. Had he known that Jon was his son, he would’ve treated him a whole lot differently than he did! Thorne was a Targaryen supporter through and through!

Joshua

NAhhhh Ned Reaction Season 1 with Robert told me immediately to suspect the whole story about Raegar kidnapping Lyanna! Happy Halloween Ready for Season 8!!!!!

Susan B

Littlefinger was right about one insight: how many people died because Rhaegar Targeryan chose Leanna Stark? Chose her over his own wife and the children they had together.

Britney

I don't think them falling in love was evil, but alas it was a death sentence for the entire family. I wonder why it was not possible for Lyanna to communicate the truth to her family. Clearly the lack of communication had dire consequences. I think what Rheagar did was selfish. I guess we'll never know. (Unless GRRM decides to bless us with some details in the next two books!)

Britney

I think it's important to remember that there is the GOT show and then there is the GOT books. The prophecy is actually the Prince or Princess that was promised. In High Valyrian the word for "Prince/Princess" is not specifically masculine or feminine. I believe Messandei mentions this in the show as well. In the books it is actually Daenerys who might be The Prince/Princess that was promised, as she has performed miracles (like bringing back dragons into the world) that relate to the prophecy. Though some do think it might be Jon, his actions thus far (in the books) don't really match up to what Dany has done in terms of...qualifying I guess you could say. I personally believe the writers of House of the Dragon are moving in a more book based way, seeing as that when Daemon has his visions of the future/the prophecy it is Daenerys with her baby dragons that he sees. Or maybe it was not prophecy related and just a vision of the Targaryen family future in general. This show has come after GOT so they could be doing their own thing but who knows. I guess we'll have to wait what the GOT show thinks in Season 8! And what George R. R. Martin does with the books. For context, the last thing that happened in the books is the end of Season 5. Jon is dead and Dany has been taken by the Dothraki. Only time (and George) will tell!

Juliana Jelezoglo

I figured it out on S6E3 when Bran saw his aunt and younger dad the first time.

They should have put the scene of Gilly briefly telling Sam about the annulment that Septon Maynard appointed Rhaegar Targaryen to allow him to marry him to Lyanna Stark when she was reading it in a book while they were at the Citadel in Oldtown for Sam to become a Maester. The convo is so brief because Sam basically ignores it to go on his rant, but she does bring it up. They never say it was Lyanna specifically that he married after the annulment in an official secret ceremony, but that is a major point where we can start to bring in context clues to put the pieces together. It’s in Season 7 episode 5.

Dark D

The pain in Ned's eyes when he promised Jon he will tell him all about his mother is unreal. Made me feel like i was watching things go down in real life.

Jade

I’m here

Susan B

I read a theory that Rhaegar needed another child to fulfill some Targaryen prophesy, and his wife couldn’t have more children, so he set his sites on Lyanna. Maybe the prophesy had something to do with the Prince that was Promised, and for whatever reason his existing children (the ones murdered by The Mountsin, along with their mother) didn’t fit the bill.

Remy

You should have known if you remembered why Robert started the war. Then if lyana had a child the one who took her supposed took her was Raeghar. Especially when she gave the baby to Ned. Season 6 x 10 winds of winter. It’s was brilliant to see your reaction to his parentage as you really had no idea.

candle

But how would that make sense? Rhaegar already had a son with Elia, he was even named Aegon too. And if I remember correctly Rhaegar himself was believed to be The Prince That Was Promised during his time.

candle

Show wise it makes perfect sense though, even in HOTD they keep talking about how the prince is the one to unite the realm against the cold and dark. That‘s literally what Jon did, starting with the wildlings. Uniting with Dany and getting her to understand the danger was his doing too. In HOTD, they also mention the Prince coming from the Targaryen line, which would be true for Jon as well. It‘s „Aegon‘s Dream“ and Jon‘s name is Aegon. In the books it could still be her, but I just feel the whole „uniting“ people and being destined for leadership even though he doesn’t want it/isn’t aware of it makes him a cookie cutter „hero“.

JenChristiF

I didn’t catch this early on in my first watch of GOT.I think sam read something and it clicked but that was a while ago. I think people are looking back with hindsight. So now it seems obvious… or they read the books first. I think it made the reveal more fun tho.

JenChristiF

Agree. I think that’s more revealing then a lot of scenes

Jade Richards

Maester Aemon is the brother to egg the new show a knight of the seven kingdoms it’s about egg and a knight and there adventures through Westeros

yasminn marinho

Hey guys, I just wanted to say that I've been having a bit of a hard time lately, with life, work and personal relationships in general, and I have to let you guys know that you always cheer me up. You are so funny, genuine and bright, it ALWAYS makes my day better when you post new content! May the Lord bless you guys! <3

Cindy G

If I remember correctly, it was something to do with the prophesy of the Song of Ice and Fire. Rhaegar was Fire, but Elia was Sand (or something), Lyanna represented Ice.

Deadsy

I could be wrong, but I always assumed Robert really thought she was kidnapped and raped. But this may have been his false assumption, because he couldn't imagine her willingly leaving him.

Deadsy

All of the clues were there, but it's not something most viewers only would see because most of this stuff was just mentioned in passing and a lot of the important stuff was in S1 when you were learning characters' names for the first time. But e.g. they talked a few times about what a great person Rhaegar was. I disagree about Catelyn. She never would have told anyone.

connie

The only women are Brienne and Margaery. Brienne because she's honorable and will keep her word even if her cheating husband disrespected her by sleeping with another woman and bringing the baby home, and Margaery because she wouldn't care about her husband anyway, he's just a means to an end. Cersei would have had that baby killed.

connie

I think its more clues than anything. You'll notice that everyone who had something positive to say about Rhaegar actually KNEW him personally, while everyone else it's just rumors spread around. Barristan is the biggest clue because he also told Dany her father was a monster, he had nothing good to say about him. Barristan is honest and good, if he thought well of Rhaegar, it isn't to be taken lightly. And with Ned, same thing. Stannis and Robert both emphasizing that Ned isn't the type to cheat. The fact that there were split stories, nothing ever consistent, and even Oberyn said Rhaegar LEFT Elia for another woman. He never used kidnapped. This is backed later by the citadel maester who wrote that Rhaegar issued an annulment with Elia and married Lyanna.

Kyo

I don't think Margery would be a safe choice, because I feel like if at any point that child represented a hurdle between her and what she wants, she would yeet it just like cersei, just low key. I think Arya would be perfectly safe to tell once she is old enough to be in a real relationship. Her and Brienne are the only ones I see.

Kyo

It's pretty comparable of a thing to Robb and breaking his vow for the nurse. Yes love is incredibly important, but when dynasties are at stake, the consequences can extend so far past just your family, not like modern times where love is a luxury we can afford without thousands dying because you wanted a divorce or broke an engagement.

connie

I don't disagree with that. Yeah, if the baby was considered an issue at any point, she'd do something about it. But right off the jump? I'm not sure if she'd care too much.

Jennifer Daniels

I don't think there was anything that would have jumped out for R+L=J in the show. It's not even mentioned in the books, although GRRM has confirmed Jon's parentage. (The show ran out of book material; in the books, I think Jon just got stabbed to death.) However, there was no annulment in the book, and for a damn good reason: no septon would have EVER annulled Rhaegar's marriage to Elia Martell. (Tl;dr - High Septon Maynard is a damn lie and Jon is still a bastard. Explanation below.) __ Marriage, especially between the noble houses, was a super super SUPER serious thing in the Faith of the Seven. There are only two (maybe three) reasons why a marriage would be annulled in Westeros - infertility or non-consummation (and possibly infidelity). And it can't just be waved away by some random High Septon - there has to be a council to decide. It's so serious that In Fire and Blood, Maegor Targaryen (3rd king of Westeros and OG Aegon's son) executed eleven septons before he could find one to perform his bullshit marriages (long story), and he was the KING, one who was notorious for his cruelty and torture. Even if some drunk septon had "married" Lyanna to Rhaegar, Jon is STILL a bastard b/c R&L's marriage isn't legit.* In reality, ravens would have flown out immediately the second these two silly morons showed up. HS Maynard would have been executed for treason to the Crown if he had a part in it (Rhaegar was the eldest son of the Mad King), so he would have been the first one to snitch. This kind of bad writing is just one of the (many) reasons why the last two seasons of GOT are so maligned - it ignores canon just to push this very rushed story line along. R+L=J was all GRRM, of course, but that annulment thing HAD to be pure D&D. __ This happened to a Kingguard in Fire and Blood . Ser Lucamore Strong "married" three women and had a ton of kids. B/c a Kingsguard can't marry, the "marriages" were all deemed illegitimate, and ALL of Strong's kids became bastards. Like I said...serious shit.

Jennifer Daniels

I wonder how the rumor even got started? I'm thinking Robert KNEW that R&L ran away together and gave it his own spin in order to save face. The realm may not have known Robert's Rebellion was a lie, but Robert sure as hell did. Like you said, Rhaegar was universally known as a terrific guy, and the whole damn realm was dying for the Mad King to kick the bucket so that Rhaegar could become king. (In a siege called the Defiance of Duskendale, Tywin was willing to let the Mad King die b/c they had Rhaegar to take his place. Ser Barristan, unfortunately, broke in and saved his crazy ass.)

Jennifer Daniels

Ned was one of the worst Hands in the history of Westeros! In this essay, I will- *INTERNET DISCONNECTS*

Jennifer Daniels

Absolutely! Unless they had Elia's blessing, they should have either had an affair - which Elia could have used as grounds for an annulment, which the council would have CERTAINLY granted - or took cold showers and got over it. Rhaegar was heir to the throne - what the hell did he think was going to happen when he showed up w/a new girl and tried to get rid of the sister of the prince of Dorne?! Rhaegar should have appealed to Elia for an annulment (which the council could have denied - not even mutual agreement would lead to an annulment) and abdicated his crown. And if the council said no, well...that's just too damn bad.

Jennifer Daniels

The real problem is that Viserys is talking out of his ass. Tl;dr - Viserys could NOT have heard the Prophecy and is probably just making up shit. (These aren't spoilers - it's solely speculation based on the books.) __ If it's true that the PoIaF was only passed from heir to son, then OG Aegon (king #1) passed the prophecy to his heir Aenys (king #2), who passed it to his heir Aegon...who was promptly usurped by Aenys's brother Maegor the Cruel (king #3). Maegor never would have never heard it, let along Jaehaerys I (the old king at the very beginning of the very first HOTD ep), or Viserys (king #5). So either Viserys's prophecy is right up there with Robert's Rebellion - that is, built on a lie - or the showrunners just said "to hell with math and canon" and went crazy (which is very possible since they've disregarded everything else). It should be noted that there was no prophecy in the books - Rhaenyra started the Dance b/c her brother stole her crown, which is a perfectly good reason. But the show wanted to make Rhaenyra more noble and badass, so they threw in that prophecy thing. But I have a feeling it's going to come up later b/c of Rhaenyra's insistence that the crown is her destiny. She even SAID that she couldn't have caused all of this "for a crown alone". That leads me to think that at some point, someone might crack open a book, do a little math and realize Rhaenyra started a whole-ass war over Daddy's bedtime story. And what an interesting day that will be...

Jennifer Daniels

Aly: it's true that Jon's name is Aegon, but there are a TON of Aegons in the Targaryen bloodline - five of them being kings and a bunch of other non-kingly Aegons. I think there are 11 in all. Seems like this could have been solved if they had a damn book of baby names...

Jennifer Daniels

I think they're DEFINITELY doing their own thing by now. Remember, all we heard season one of HOTD is "Fire and Blood is incomplete/written by pro-Green maesters/unreliable and the show is what REALLY happened." After S2 was such a disaster, suddenly it's "well, there's book canon and there's show canon". Thank God for that, b/c while GOT was pretty faithful to the source material, HOTD wiped their asses with it.

Quil Vega

I pieced together that they were his parents but I didn't piece together rhegar being a good guy

vj

but which came first Aemon or the Egg?
