This is clutch

lauren j.

Aww man I knew this reaction would come and today is the day 😂

randvi

YES! I hope yall took some deep calming breathes for this one 😭😂

Brittany Peterson

“This doesn’t make any sense anymore” you summed up the season

Katlyn

This is the danger of people who think they are purely good. Hitler was the same way. He was convinced he was doing these evil things for the greater good, but could not look at his own biases and inadequacies. Beware of people who think they’re always “helping.”

urqueenari

Doesn’t make sense anymore because the show runners stopped caring. They crammed arcs that were seasons long into one final season. HBO offered 5+ seasons to D&D, who declined. They screwed themselves on this season. Would have been decent if we had seasons to develop storylines and whatnot.

Cherono

This was a hard watch, I was having flashbacks of the first time I watched this. A very nonsense almost end to a show that I loved. But Adison always called out Dany’s turn, for me, I didn’t.

🕷️🕸️spiderbih🕸️🕷️

As I’ve been saying, Daenerys was beyond lame for claiming to be different from Cersei and not wanting to be “queen of the ashes” just to switch up at the end, especially after those innocent people surrendered. If she was on that from the jump and stood by that, then it would be understandable. She turned so phony.

Jennifer Clark

The show runners stopped caring towards the end of GOT from season 7 on they rushed story lines and drastically changed characters personalities (ie Dani). By the time I watched this episode for the first time I was so numb to all of the inconsistencies it was comical when Dani snapped and just burned the city….just a mess!

Lailah Johnson

I remember exactly where I was when I watched this epsiode... and the finale episode. In my college best friend's dorm...back when it was still called HBO and NOT HBO Max...I even remember it was during the finale episode that they showed the first teaser for Euphoria ... We sat in stunned silence bc we had never experienced such a complete and utter trainwreck. It sucked then and it still sucks now!

emma

adison butchering missandei’s name in different ways is killing me😭😭

Mel Issa

Varys was actively trying to kill here. He was using the little bird to poison her food and that’s why he said we’ll try again. Dany kinda told you who she was from season 1. She got off when Drogo was talking about killing her enemies. She always got rid of those in her way but she was on the ‘good side’ so it was okay.

Damian Ives

Im Jon Snow all the way day one but in Danys defense she lost her whole family to usurpers, Jorah, 2 Dragons, Half her army, Jons love and affection, trust in her hand and Varys, No one in Westeros wanted her as queen ON TOP of her best friend Missandei being beheaded in front of her. I think most would turn cold with that many loses.

Damian Ives

Most people are just mad we waited 2 years for 6 episodes and their favorite character turned FED LMAO this still the most Epic story told in tv history they need to stop playin with GOaT they were ALL glued to the end and STILL coming back for reactions dont let them lie to ya!

Lee greenwalt

Going back and forth through every alley like we cuttin the grass ?!😂😂😂

Brittany Mack-Israel

7 years of trauma, betrayals, lies, and deaths tend to change ppl personalities. So I actually say it was quite realistic. And the fact her dead daddy , the mad king heard voices leads me to believe it was some mental illness in their family.

Jon snow

This season was just rushed and written terribly and I’m not even a fan of dany

Jon snow

Trying to hard to give her excuses. She is worst then her father and Cersei after killing all those people. She even mentioned burning down cities since early seasons.

VictoriaM

Absolutely awesome reaction and analysis!

Jade Richards

Cersi and Jamie have been right there in plane sight did the insest not give it away !!!!!!!only the targarians do insest Jamie and cerai in fact the whole beratheon family line is targarian renly all of them oris beratheon was aegon the concoreres bastard brother therefore all have dragon some weak some stronger than others and yes Danny is preg with jons baby someone has to be rebuild the targarian dynasty

Jen Garcia

Leave Drogon alone 😭

Nat

I remember my excitement at the thought of Arya using Jaime’s face to get Cersei and the absolute anger at them going out together under a pile of rubble. Booooooooo.

james moore

Why yall always say they changed her lol. The signs was there from the beginning

Jennifer Clark

They always made it clear that she was nothing like her father. I think it’s lazy writing to create a pathway for Dani to ultimately turn into the “Mad Queen”.

Jennifer Clark

When she mentioned burning cities early on we all knew she wouldn’t target civilians.

Jennifer Clark

James Moore, seasons 1 through 6 Dani would not have done this.

Fallon

Brandon, you are hilarious 😆

Dark D

Blaming the dragon for this is like blaming the gun instead of the person that shot the bullet.

jillian

I need an edit at the end around the 2 hour mark when Brandon starts talking about rooting for dany until she made him look like a fool -- Tyra Banks "we were rooting for you! we were all rooting for you!" hahaha

Haola Michaela

It’s a shame that the writing got so sloppy and un-GOT towards the end. GRRM was supposed to be advising them, but the plot and character development took an obvious DIVE during season 7. Varys, Tyrion, Jamie, and other just seem to switch up personalities and in some cases lose all the progress they made throughout. 🫠

ChristinaVVM

Did you see the live? Some people in the comments defending her were waaaay out there.

YounesCuppino

Dany had this amazing superpower where every character she interacted with, turned into shit. So props to her

Jenny Mulinaro

Somehow when this first aired I was able to separate my overall feelings about certain characters from the way I feel about how they ended up. To me, it was always poor writing at the end. Even when Dany was burning the city, I just kept saying “ I can’t believe THEY did this to HER”

Fatuma Abdulkadir

They said it and like season one or two when Danny was born they ring the bells thousand times to stop the war from her dad so the bells triggered her and that’s when she went on a killing spree

VictoriaM

I absolutely cannot wait for the series finale! I am so happy that you guys made it through the series.

Martin7777

Geech = oberyn confirmed

Martin7777

I think it's written bad because it was rushed, and it was rushed out of necessity. Many of the actors simply couldn't do the job for longer due to health issues. I'm thankful for the acting, on location shooting, music, visual effects, composition, all that stuff is still on point for me.

TD MoBee

I have watched this show quite a few times and watched a few reaction videos. I have been waiting awhile to say that the whole time, Addison you have always pointed out the hints that Dany was mad from the beginning. We were all rooting for her and always provided justifications along the way.

Philip

I have a theory about these dragons…anybody else think that her connection to Drogon stems from her burning up Khal Drogo with the egg? I feel like they have the same energy, like his spirit went into the dragon or something. Seems like Drogon was finna clean house for her just like Drogo said he would. His intention when getting the throne for her was doing everything Dany ended up doing with Drogon. 🧐 crash out couple fr

Susan B

She was always going to become mad, imo. But that downward spiral into madness should have taken at least a whole season.

Idiotology101

Jon just can’t get over those aunts in his pants

Susan B

She crucified people without a trial. She was always crazy.

Susan B

Honestly, as easily as Dany took out the Iron Fleet, isn’t it her fault that her best friend was captured? If she had acted when her second dragon was shot, instead of fleeing, she could have saved her friends from being captured.

Elizabeth Esposito

I believe Dany is evil, she has self righteousness and entitled person. Jon Snow should been king not her.

Susan B

Have y’all watched Oppenheimer? The choices we made as a nation to use nukes on civilians are not different from what Dany did here. We just didn’t have to see their faces.

Forevertyad

She had already slowly been going mad throughout the show. People just didn't pick up on it

Jesse

I think that sadly, the show butchered a lot of the characters. Jaime Lannister was not meant to be the ultimate Cersei simp until the end of his days. Tyrion wasn't supposed to be a total idiot at the end. Jon Snow wasn't meant to be an idiot and he should have played a much bigger role against the white walkers. I think you could have had Daenerys turn evil but they should have developed that more over the course of multiple episodes. Book readers always suspected that it could happen with her but it wasn't developed well. Despite all that it's still probably my favorite show for what it was in the first several seasons.

Ailene Evangelista

I'd be bragging too if I was you Adison lol. You called it about Dany from season 1. I thought it was interesting you picked up on it so early, which goes to show, her character was always going that way. Maybe it's just more obvious when you binge watch the show. Cause to this day I still see ppl defending Dany and say what she did was out of character and terrible writing, but clearly, the foreshadowing was there. It was not out of nowhere. The way Jaime went out still irks me to this day. I thought he had broken free from Cersei at the end, from her influence. I feel like we were told from the jump she would be the death of him, but I was in denial I guess lol. And Cersei deserved a worse death than she got, that definitely disappointed me.

VictoriaM

Hey guys, my anticipation of the last episode reaction is overwhelming! So can’t wait.

Susan B

I did pick up some cues, but she goes from paranoid-with-a-side-of-arson all the way to Consciousless Mass Murderer in the space of two episodes. Her reaction to her losses (her friends, her dragons, her nephew not wanting to have sex with her anymore) could have easily been the subject of an entire season. But the snow runners wanted to finish GOT so they could work on another project. And this is what we got.

Susan B

True. Even the Cersei actress has admitted that she expected her character to die spectacularly and was disappointed in the quick way Cercei goes out.

Susan B

Best thing about this episode was Arya and the Hound. When she said “Sandor, thank you,” I realized that the best character arc in GOT was theirs, together.

Craig Brown

The disappointment that we all feel is because of the degraded writing. They tried to set it straight in one line that you guys missed. "They say that every time a Targaryn is born the gods flip a coin" Which means that they found out that Dany was actually just as insane as her brother was. At first she had Jorah, Ser Barristan, and Missande around her to keep her personality in balance. With their deaths, not to mention the unrequited love of John, she finally snapped. We should have had the revelation of this but instead we just have a pleathora of characters acting out of character... Cersei is suddenlty smarter than Tyrion, Tyrion is now dumb enough to hid in a tomb with DEAD people, Varys is stupid enough to be discovered and John doesn't have enought sense to see the connection between Ned keeping his Sister's secret and him keep his aunts. Ned kept that secret till the day he was murdered yet, John couldn't keep him mouth shut for a day? Yeah....

Cristina

23:03 Brandon, that might be the one of the best takes on Jamie ever. Usually it's just stuff like "He can't help but love her" but that was some big time realness.

Cristina

For real! I was brought back to when we all watched this live, yellin at the TV like "NO! THEY SURRENDERED! Just fly to the Red Keep!"

Cristina

And get back was NOT had the right way for Cersei

connie

Respectfully, Ned only kept this secret to protect Jon from Robert. Jon telling his family was only an issue because Dany didn't want to share the throne at best, or give it up to Jon at worst. Even though it's his throne by right. Was she not the one who stated the 7k was hers by right of being a Targaryen, born to rule just last season? Now she knows Jon is the actual heir, and now she would rather demand he keep it a secret?

Tieland

I hate that I missed the live reactions to the last 2 episodes!! 😫

Tieland

We all don't feel that way. 🤣 And that's not true. There were bread crumbs laid throughout the series that told you Danny was heading down this path. People just chose not to see it because they loved her so much as did i. But just like Adison and Brandon, I picked up on her behavior long ago and felt that she was going to be like her father some day. 🤷🏾‍♀️

Tieland

Also, if you're talking about when Varys said it in season 7, remember that statement was also said in earlier seasons as well. 🤷🏾‍♀️

connie

I get why people were disappointed with Jaime’s ending, but honestly, it makes so much sense for his character. Jaime has *always* been about family—his love for them is the core of who he is. He loved Tywin, he loved Tyrion, and, yes, he loved Cersei. Despite all her flaws and all the terrible things she did, Jaime accepted her completely because she was family. And with her being pregnant with his child, there was no way he was ever going to kill her or abandon her. That’s just not who Jaime is. The thing is, Jaime’s love for Cersei wasn’t healthy—it was toxic and destructive—but it was *real*. He did horrible things in her name: crippling Bran, killing his cousin to escape imprisonment, threatening and hurting others. All of it was for her, because his loyalty to her and his family was ingrained in him. Tywin drilled that into Jaime from the start: “It's the family name that lives on, it's all that lives on, not your personal glory not your honor, but family.” And Jaime lived by that, even when it cost him his own happiness and honor. What makes Jaime’s story so tragic is that he *could have been* something else. He had the makings of a redemption arc, and for a while, it seemed like Brienne brought out the best in him. She reminded him of his sense of honor and showed him he could be more than just Cersei’s shadow. But the truth is, Brienne came into his life too late. Jaime was already too far gone, too tied to his past and to his identity as Cersei’s twin, her partner in everything. Leaving her would have been like rejecting a part of himself, and he just couldn’t do it. I also think Jaime didn’t believe he deserved redemption—or Brienne, for that matter. He told her outright that he’s not a good man. He didn’t see himself as better than Cersei, because he knew exactly what he’d done in her name. In the end, Jaime chose to go back to her not because it was the “right” thing, but because it was *his* thing. Cersei was his twin, his love, his family, and he was always going to stand by her, even if it destroyed him. Jaime’s story isn’t about redemption—it’s about how love and loyalty can be both beautiful and toxic. His love for his family, especially Cersei, was the most human part of him, but it’s also what doomed him. And that’s what makes his arc so devastating. It wasn’t just that he went back to Cersei—it’s that, deep down, he never really left her.

Craig Brown

Naw, all speculation. Even if what you say is true, Ned still kept his mouth shut. If Ned was acting like Jon he would have said something like… “Ah know mah friend, he’s mah brother and-a gud man, he would never harm ah we babe…” or something else dumb like that. We just don’t know. YOU can say that Dany just wanted power, I can say Dani actually really loved John and didn’t want to ruin it. And if John didn’t want to be king why would it matter? In a court of law, in today’s world spouses have immunity and by law are safe from testifying against each other. No, they weren’t married but John should have kept his mouth shut. Just bad writing.

Craig Brown

Again, that’s not the point I was making. My point was about the writing or lack there of. It is known. We know that Martin envisioned 10 seasons. We know that there were two less episodes per season, we know that the show-runners were sick of the show and wanted to move on. The revelation of Danny’s insanity was rushed and slap-dash which caused the last 2 seasons of the show to feel ‘icky’ to a lot of people. So much so that we also know the cast was pissed off and almost half a million people signed a petition for the shows last few seasons to be reshot…. So we’re there breadcrumbs? Yes. Was the conclusion abrupt and sloppily executed? Maybe.

Remy

They fear her, they know she’s mad!! She s the Mad Queen, like her father the Mad King.“His words burn them all” it makes sense you knew it Addison way back.

Remy

What you forget is they are yin and yang, created together, in the womb together. They were twins. They came into the world together and they went out together. Jamie didn’t really have a choice. Not when his twin flame was calling him home.

VictoriaM

Fabulous commentary and analysis ❤️

Kyo

Very well worded. My problem with him and his story was that though he was always drawn to her, when he wasn't within range of her manipulation he didn't seem overly drawn to returning, it seemed more circumstances that drove him back. It felt like he often swayed towards being GOOD when she wasn't there whispering in his ear to come back. But out of nowhere, after seeing the good he could do in winterfell and being with Brienne he just goes? To me that didn't feel handled well at all at least director wise, like maybe a few recent moments foreshadowing his fall back from grace or to hint at his feeling unworthy of good people. It... didn't really come off as much of a struggle? Just that being kind and noble came to him much more naturally without her hovering near, influencing him.

Tyrademi

Dany is obviously in the wrong point blank period, but she didn’t do what she did just because of her best friend. Dany lost nearly everyone that loves her and supported her from the beginning. Missandei, Jorah, her army and 2 dragons. All those people died due Cersei. If Cersei had supported the north, most of those people wouldn’t have died. She offered up so much against the night king, just to find out that Jon has a better claim to the throne. Then there is: her falling in love again after khal drogo, but Jon now resisting her due being his aunt. Out of every character, she lost and sacrificed the most, very short term. On top of that she feels unappreciated after letting her volks die (her army), but still not being chosen as “the queen”. From her side of the story it’s: I sacrificed everything and it still ain’t enough. Besides having her daddy’s tempor, I also feel like she crashed out, so that the people that had her back all this time, have their get back (grey worm). The above obviously doesn’t change that she is very wrong. Killing civilians was definitely not necessary. I also hate that the show runners destroyed her character like that. I always hoped, that she would be different from her family curse.

The Emerald Duchess

I forget did Brandon do the HOTD reactions? Cause the comedy……

Kate

The episode 🫣

Susan B

Hey, we’ve all had that moment when a nephew refused to sleep with us so we nuked a town. Don’t pretend you haven’t done it too.

Susan B

Mass murder isn’t cold. Cold is maybe one or two murders, some verbal abuse and refusing to share your order of fries.

Kate

Also, yall mention her hair looking so bad….Missandai did her hair 🥺 always something that stuck out to me.

Kyo

A lot of the first part of that sounds too close to excusing it. It was enough for her to absolutely decimate cersei, but she would've been able to win the heart of King's Landing if she had chosen other paths. The easiest would be to send people or messenger birds in using Varys to get the word out far and wide that the only death need be Cersei. Dany could've just played defense and siege, letting the people out her as hunger became a problem. Playing an overly peaceful and reasonable route would have won her the people. They had NO love for Cersei and an open clarification that anyone defecting would be safe and those who brought Cersei out justly rewarded...

Kyo

That's hella over romanticizing their relationship. She was a manipulator through and through and he had had a lifetime of her wickedness twisting his soul. This wasn't about being twins, this is an unhealthy obsession and an abuser at play.

Tyrademi

I didn’t excuse her at all. I started and ended my comment with “she’s in the wrong and had no right to kill civilians”. All I did was explaining that her best friend is not the “only” reason, why she did what she did. I never said she’s right nor did I ever excused or agreed with her (Dany) decision.

Kyo

Most people picked up on the foreshadowing, ut it went from like a 2 to a 10 in a heartbeat. And it couldn't even be explained away by Missandei's death cause she had time to deal with the initial blind rage reaction. If it had happened same day, sure, but it took many days in between for the armies to get into place. She had had enough time to listen to council, remember the plans and know Cersei is the only true goal there.

Kyo

Yea, those 3 you named in particular got the worst of it imo too. Varys wouldn't have been that open about discussing it if he wasn't sure where Tyrion would stand, he would've handled it himself through other means. Jamie had ALL the makings of a redemption arc and they ruined him without even any foreshadowing on his not feeling worthy of being considered good enough for Brienne and the people of the North he fought alongside at Winterfell. Tyrion... Just got so stupid on his advising of caution, he was supposed to be good at reading people and charming them to his side. Yet he failed to see the very clear crazy even with Varys openly confronting him with it.

Kyo

Yea, it's very much blaming the tool instead of the person. She was the influence on Drogon and he was only doing what their bond made him feel to do. Drogon would've been perfectly trustworthy with Jon as a rider.

Kyo

Yea that was one theory I was hoping wouldn't happen though I know it would have been badass. I was still banking on Jamie chosing to be a better man so I didn't want him dead.

Kyo

It was primarily D&D with wanting the Star wars deal. And rushing it for health doesn't excuse away the bad writing, lol.

candle

I don‘t think it‘s fair to call her going down the dark path „destroying“ her character. The hero to villain arc is a popular trope. There‘s hints that her ending for the books is similar.

candle

But she did mean to target civilians before. She’s been talking about burning cities to the ground since Season 2. Watch S6 finale again, she told Tyrion her plan was to burn down the slavers cities in their entirety, including the civilians. Tyrion had to talk her out of it, reminding her of her father.

AllyBoo124

Every time they cut to Cersei and Jaime I was the same way. Like do I look like someone who cares about this sick and twisted love story with one of the most evil people alive???

Tieland

Known to whom? Not everyone hated the writing. Some of us accepted it for what it was and actually liked it. 🤷🏾‍♀️

Rindamarie

In Season 2, she is in the House of the Undying, and her vision when walking through the throne room shows the ceiling burned and ash falling. That vision let me know she would do what her father tried to do. Her time at Mareen turned me off. At the height of GoT's original run, folks named their daughters after Daenerys (and other GoT characters).

Remy

It isn’t romanticising anything. It’s a fact they love each other. How many of you don’t mind Targaryen incest?? As they said before you can’t choose who you love. They loved each other and they loved their children. It’s one of the love storylines of Thrones. You can hate them if you like. But they loved each other and wished to always be together. You are putting your opinion into it. There’s one thing I knew for sure throughout thrones is that Jamie would always do anything to be with Cersi. She may have manipulated him. He still loved her. She loved him!!!

Tyrademi

I’m not surprised they took that road with her character. It’s always been in her blood. With so many villains and backstabbing people on the show, I would have liked a better ending for her character. Her character has always been about breaking chains and cycles. Would have been nice if she could have broken the curse that haunted her family name.

Qurron Franklin

😂😂😂😂😂 not Titi Dani...Love It 😂😂😂

Festina

I cried so much when jamie died. Ugh Cersei did not deserve him -.-

Festina

If Jon simply loved her all this mess wouldn’t have happened.

Jon snow

He has to love his aunt now to keep her from going crazy😂😂😂

Avishai

Boy Dany went NUTS on this one lmao

Avishai

So heres the thing... Yes in season 8 Dany was a mad woman and a horrible candidate for Queen. HOWEVER, I'm not letting Adison go for eventually being right. The way you talked about her and weighed her bad characteristics heavier than her good for the ENTIRE show, is still wrong and kinda sexist. Thats a fact. But since season 8 began, we agree on her. Just not at all before that. You literally had to know it was gonna come to this for any of that criticism to make sense. But its all love. Im not gonna leave like i see some comments saying. thats just dramatic and weird. And tbh i kinda expected that narrative. I got homeboys that felt that way and we agreed to disagree on her earlier depiction and character. Its cool to disagree, still love the reactions. you're entitled to your view. however unfair it was (in the beginning at least).

Jessie

You guys pointed out throughout this episode why so many people were disappointed with the later seasons— Dany, Varys, and Tyrion are doing things that are so out-of-character that it's almost insulting. Even Jon is a shell of himself. As a viewer, it's very clear that the show runners ran out of books to adapt and just stopped caring as much about writing these characters with depth. Anyway, i can't usually stomach rewatching the last few seasons but watching it with yall made it more fun. Thanks for hanging out!

GreekGuyReacts

Horrible takes on Dany all around by you two.... And yes, you have been biased for most of the show cause she is a woman. Yall aint treated none of the male characters as harshly. And Sansa is 100% responsible for Varys death , as is Jon and Tyrion of course. But also, mainly, Varys himself.

Courtz

Dany thoughts, not excuses for behaviour just character development notes - she was s*xually abused by her brother as a teen, sold off, lost her love, her baby, her closest friends (Jorah, Missandei), and her two dragon children. She was told over and over she was the saviour of the people, that they would love her, she gets there and they hate her, mistrust her, choose someone else. She sees the throne as the only way she can get to be the leader they have told her she is meant to be. Her hand (Tyrion) has failed her over and over because he underestimated his sister, her master of whispers whispers against her. She starts to believe she has to take everything by force because otherwise she has nothing. When people fele things slipping away, they hold on tighter, sometimes the tighter you hold on the more damage you do. A big theme from the show is the baggage we carry from our parents. Who they want us to be (Tywin Lannister twists Jamie's love for family, Sam's dad literally banishes him to the wall for being a failure of a son in his eyes, Margery and Lorris take on the ambition and manipulation of their grandmother etc etc) The ones that come out of it semi well rounded are the Stark kids+Jon, because they had Ned and Catlyn. They were loved. Yes she goes mad this season, but the cracks have been forming since season 1. She's abused and broken. It's nurture over nature. She could have been a good queen as a Targeryan, despite her father being the "Mad King" if she had been raised by the Starks...like Jon. She just wanted love, she even said to Jon " I don't have love here, only fear" and she was sad about it. She never had a mother's love, def not her father's love and her brothers love was perverted and only served his own purposes. By season 8, Dani has come to believe she will never truly be loved. So she breaks.

Jade

ALL HAIL THE MAD QUEEEN!!!

Jade

Mmmm DEEEP! MAD Queen GWOAT!

Jade

Villains are more interesting than heroes or at least their backstories are. Daenerys had the best storyline from beginning to end. IDCIDC! Arya’s story gets a close second. I still get chills watching the bells ringing and her descended into madness. Best HEEL arc ever.

Nettles

48:42 “she is so petty”

Nettles

I stopped caring about Kings Landing when that guy threw that rock at Ned’s head. 😂🤣 I stole that from Greekguyreacts !!

Nettles

Fancy meeting you here 💋🐉

Clint

Couldn’t have said it better myself.

Julia Bruner

Guys, I feel you. This is absolutely insane, what she did. She has become a horrific person, and it’s not a surprise for me, cuz she was always full of hate. The escalation of her decisions was obvious nevertheless, everyone around put their trust in her for some reason and believed she wouldn’t turn that hate toward them someday

JenChristiF

These directors had an interesting interview about filming this episode. How they filmed Dani as death from the sky and wanted viewers to see the on the ground consequences.

JenChristiF

Blah. She just killed a bunch of kids. You’re not taking up for women with this statement. You’re making excuses for the wrong one. Dani is trash. Sansa is way better than Dani and went through worse horrors. They were a comparison. Sansa is a true queen. Dani is a weak mess.

Austin Hogan

The soul of Drogo went into Drogon at the funeral pier but resurrected with the body the black dread

Kylee James

Dani never agreed to the ringing of the bells. Her nod to Greyworm was to carry out Mesandea's last words.

Marisa Pardo

What a let down of all let downs. Multiple mother fans named their newborn daughters after Daenerys way before the last few seasons. That has to be awkwardly infuriating for them especially. 😬

Omni

Thank you for watching this show. It's been a lot of fun. I LOVED almost everything that you guys hated. I LOVED Danny's tragic arc. If it can't be a happy ending, then at least let it be a powerful ending. Humans must have a sense of morality, but in the world of fiction and make believe, we're meant to go as crazy as we want, and not confuse the two. Dragons are too great to live within human constraints. So was Danny. From powerless to too much power, the writing was spectacular. You guys gave me a lot of laughs. Thank you. Bless you! <3

CS

I think I agree with a lot of what you’ve been saying on these chats. There are some double standards when it comes to being harsh on Dany (not that what she did is not unconscionable). I would say that Brandon is far more reasonable on this count, throughout the show. It’s just that sometimes he gets shouted down.

Irontoast

Best part of this episode was thinking about all the people watching who had named their daughter “Daenerys” or “Khaleesi”. Wonder how many people got name changes afterward.

Kayla t’Aybara

One of the greatest betrayal of a loved character by writers ever

Zeineb Zidi

You saying it’s the « Last of the Lannisters » is so crazy because that’s exactly the name of the OST that was playing during that scene when you said it

xavier

The writing for Dannys arc was not spectacular it was rushed. However we've seen too many times in our human history tragic tales of absolute power corrupting good people especially when it comes to kingdoms & rulership. I believe Danny already made the decision to burn and sack the city when missandei last word uttered through her mouth "dracarys". She chose to be feared or at least that was what the writers wanted us to accept it is what it is

Danny crashed out like a lot of her other family members throughout their history, is it because they see themselves as special people who have the ability to make any friend or foe submit by way of dragon fire from the sky. Or is it because anyone/group of people would do it if they have the type of air superiority, to where the can drop fire from the sky and burn cities and conquer countries. whats the difference between what danny did and what the american empire did to the millions of iraqi people or the british empire to the millions of indians and african people. The Game Of Thrones is an ILLUSION in this show and in our world as well, it corrupts the pure hearted and further corrupts the evil ones & nobody wins. Even the winners lose themselves, Only those who do not seek power and can fulfil the responsibilities of it are qualified to hold it.

Death_LeKid

she won the game and still flipped the board. rewatching this with yall makes me realize how good of a villain she could have been had they taken proper care of the end game.

.

Dany is a conqueror, not a queen.

Hitmon

The meltdown from people telling people how to react is wilder than the episode. We see here that you think its OK to kill children. Nice.

Nicci :)

You should’ve seen the actors response once they read the script . They were even disappointed

Dezra Bennett

From a woman it's easy to see Dany is a trashy tyrant all around.

Targary

the writers ruined this entire show

Reborn

Turn the TV off. Turn the TV off.

Johnny R

Dany will always and forever be my queen😂

Johnny R

but no she was dead wrong for what she did. wish she hadn't done what she did bruh

I know this comment doesn't matter at this point...But this is like my 4th rewatch of the entire series and I have to say...Verys got a bad rap... Because of the show and knowing that everyone was scheming to some degree...He got a bad rap. Yes he schemed. Yes he plotted. And it did seem like he could turn on a monarch or someone with that inclination at the drop of a dime...But for the idea at the end to be to hold elections when before even the PEOPLE of the kingdom could do so...And the thing is he was never wrong... Basically he was penalized for not being Westerosi, not having male parts, not being highborn, and having a determination to stay alive however the cookie was gonna crumble. But often he was one of the FEW that could call when and how the cookie was being over baked...I mean in the show and as viewers...We judged him...But when was he wrong? He never used decisive speech, so he wasn't lying, and I'd argue that he indeed was more for what the people in all 7 kingdoms needed in a ruler than any other character we saw including Jon Snow.

And the idea that Verys being 💯 to Dany's face about her not being fit to rule because she was morphing into exactly what she claimed to go to Westeros to eradicate would've somehow saved him...Is wild. The first time we saw Dany turning towards that slope was when Jon pulled up as KITN to parley with her and refused to bend the knee. We saw her approach the slope when it became clear that garnering love from slaves was a different game than from free people who remember that her father wasn't a good guy and she would have to prove herself. Now, IMO she was officially on the slope when she thought seducing Jon and throwing her weight and reminders around was gonna gain her any love from the north, and when it became clear it wasn't, she started getting quiet and watching how other people were given respect they'd earned. She was in a full on slide down the slippery slope well before Missadei was killed, before and right after the battle with the Night king when Jon's identity was known...Not once did she ponder on the fact that she was no longer a Targaryen alone in the world, immediately she thought about the fact that he was male and had a better claim to the throne... Basically the moment Verys started having doubts and said doubts got back to her...He was toast.

I also have nothing positive to say about Dany right now. But here's the thing. The writers of the show only decided on this arc for her character after they ran out of material from the incomplete book series. And anderson has been negative about her character from way earlier in the series. So yeah, I don't think the comments calling you out during earlier seasons were completely wrong about you being negatively biased towards her. Who the show writers made her become is different from who she was in earlier seasons.

chao_2x (ABZ💙)

Lmaoo people still don’t understand why Dany did what she did 😂

I'm sorry, but it's frustrating to see multiple people call y'all out due to repeated double standards when it comes to female leaders and y'all refuse to recognize or learn from it. When Jon was a night's watch commander and he beheaded someone for disobedience, y'all were fine with it. But when Dany executes someone for outright betrayal, it's not okay? Saying Dany's hair looks bad when she literally lost her best friend? In past episodes, blaming Catelyn for decisions the men around her make? I don't think any of these women are perfect. Dany DOES go crazy eventually, but you're characterizing the decisions that are actually logical as crazy, when you don't do the same for similar decisions that male characters made earlier. Demanding that Jon bend the knee makes perfect sense, she's a conqueror. Did you expect her to be nice? Go "teehee, can I have the 7 kingdoms, pretty please"? The double standard is something I've found frustrating.

Dani H

Thank you.

Dani H

Spectacular writing lmao

Dani H

Varys trying to use a little girl to kill Dany and then everyone crying when he got roasted for it is crazy

Dani H

A bad rap? He was using a little girl to try and kill Dany.

Coco Walker

Okay that assassin clearly was disguised as a child because of Dany's soft spot for children....It was no ordinary child and it's screeching confirmed it was less than human... And even if he did send a child assassin at her, children have been used left and right to do things above them the whole show... Dany herself used her unborn son's life to attempt to buy life for Drogo, remember that? Cersei used her sons to seize and hold the throne, leading to their deaths... Everyone up north was on a mission to capture and use Bran as the last trueborn son of Winterfell. So what's unique about him using children when whole plots been resting on how obedient kids are to whomever they listen to in this show???

Caleb Weir

They ruined Jamie’s character his entire arc was him becoming a better person he should of stayed with brienne or helped Arya kill cersi because he knew it needed to happen he shouldn’t of died neither should the hound or Varys or Dany really any of them

Caleb Weir

Stop trynna Justify dany massacering hundreds of thousands of people it’s no bueno

Caleb Weir

Jamie deserved to live! Even tho he made a stupid decision of trying to go back for her.

Caleb Weir

Jamie was a whole different person when not around cersi it’s like he was able to be himself even he told bran”I’m not that person anymore” damn man Jamie’s arc was my favorite of the whole show and I wanted so much better for him id of loved if he got to raise his and Cersei’s baby with Brienne and Cersei either dead or in prison for life.He deserves a happy ending due to his character development and the good side of him that wasn’t twisted by Cersie.I felt so bad for Tyrion when he found his brother in the rocks.

Cooper Clairmont

Wasn’t just cause of the writing with dany, it was how all the story arcs ended. Literally all were terrible. Im sure you didn’t mean the only reason people wanted it reshot was because of the dany situation but that was a reason, ill assume that’s what u meant

La Toya Sheri

Between cersai and day imo cersai is way worse c ersai entire mo from day one is about self and destroyin anything or anyone in her way .dany at least wanted to help enslaved people and get justice for them . Cersai cares about no one not even jamie not even her kids. If she cared enough about her kids she wouldn't have made the choices she made which put their lives at risk.

La Toya Sheri

Dany and cersei both foul fr and are power hungry and have too much ego. Sad if they could have chose diff could have had two powerful women leaders doing business

La Toya Sheri

Cersai should have went out wayyy better than that gotta be honest.
