Safa and Brandon hold a good point. If they were just to kill Negan right then and there, I wouldn’t say everyone would up and go home. But a good amount would probably join Alexandria. I wouldn’t be surprised if these people are just with Negan because they’re scared or intimidated, or they owe something to him, or he holds a grudge against them.

Which would ultimately lead to the downfall entirely of the group. We already saw with son son, and all of Alexandria, when things got bad in the community they raided the pantry and tried to get out. Not saying everyone in Negans army would up and leave, but a decent amount I believe would.

I feel like it’s not coming across that these soldiers that are , following Negan like this lifestyle they like hurting people they like exploiting people that’s why they’re in the position that they’re in because they’ve sacrifice that part of their humanity to live like they do so if Negan were to be killed right in this instant they would continue on doing things in service of now a martyr, Negan and who knows if not worse than Negan so they have to sit in this uncomfortability until they’re able to either plan a way out or or live under his ruling, but just killing Negan right away isn’t going to stop any violence against their community or the other surrounding communities. If anything it would just enforce more of it to the point of these people’s extinction.

True, but only the fighters will always be the ones surrounding Negan, and the ones to take action should someone try to take him out, and will be the next ones put in charge. The ones trying to just survive will never be in a position to have a weapon and take over.

that's a fact but Negan didn't put Rick through as much as he did in the show. What Rick witnessed was Glenn's death in the comics, in the show he got mentally and physically dragged around by Negan. Both situations make sense the way they played out

Adison snitching on through courier pigeons to save himself might be new favorite thang 😆... Listen, Michonne ain't Daryl. If there's one person out if the mains I trust to not botch a Negan-based mission, it'd be her. She might be too dmart and stealthy for that. And even if she got caught, I feel like she's clever enough to get herself out of it. Remember, she talked hotmess, racist ahh Merle out of turning her over to while she was simply tied up and weapons less, while he went on a kamakazi mission to try and prove himself and save the prison/his brother. The power of intelligence and words are a beautiful thing. This the same woman that jumped out of a whole tree and caught two bodied in like 3 seconds in a 1 v 4 (1 katana vs 4 guns), and STILL got away, shot and all, in season 3 lol. Even if she botched a solo assassination attempt or whatever, they'd still have to catch her to know that it was her who did it, The only real worry and downside I would have if she got caught is the fact that there would be no way Negan wouldn't recognize Michonne from the lineup, and he most likely noted Carl is her weakness because she didn't say a single word or show fear during that whole line up, that was until Carl was about to get the chop, and she finally spoke up to beg and plead with Negan, which means he could use the kid against her to either make her break or crashout (she already lost one son). Negan seems like the type that would want to "tame" Michonne the way he's trying to tame Daryl for his team. She would be harder to break than Dsryl though without the Carl threat imo. Shoot, she might mess around and break Negan instead if he kept her prisoner with just talking and casually getting into his head lol...

S7E4 one of my least favorite episodes. Because here comes Negan with his continued humiliation of Rick. I think Rick gave the gun to Negan to let him know yeah I hear you bcuz he didn't want to see anyone else get killed. Also that deer Michonne hit it on accident, the walker didn't touch it at all. And Negan burn the beds bcuz he's mean and petty and just to show he can. Which mad Michonne angry bcuz they didn't have too. If Spencer was in charge he would have been another Gregory just rolling over when Negan comes by. I think deep down Negan is scared and in awe of Rick, because Rick people follow him with love and loyalty and Negan's people follow him out of fear. Plus he showboats in front of these people on other groups so these men can continue to fear him. One sign of weakness and they pounce on him. Also Rick's Colt Python was taken that night in the clearing, one of his men have it. Also it's been about 3/4 from that fateful night. We're broken right now, and how long shall we stay broken? Bcuz Get Back Must Be Had.

I LOVE Jeffrey Dean Morgan, and I 100% agree that killing Negan while there was a gun held to everybody else else’s head was not the right option. At this point, I would’ve had everybody on lookout, with a machine gun, and Blasting all the trucks and people who came in. They should’ve went back home and immediately started planning for the arrival of this crew. Unfortunately, Darrell may have had to go because he was mixed in. But for the greater good right?

Ok i don't understand how addison can look at what's happening, and call rick a baby. What i have seen so far, makes rick one of the greatest characters in this show, and more of a man then all the others in this show. Because rick is really willing to do anything and everything to protect his people, that doesnt just mean killing people but accepting any humiliation to keep his people and kids alive. Even willing to accept another man's child. What these episodes have shown me, is that rick through everything protects his people. I don't see him as a sucker at all, if rick crashed out or showed any conflict with negan, more of his people would have died. Rick is literally doing what a man should, protecting his people.

Brandon, did you not see Darryl in that group of saviors. If we killed Negan at the gate, Darryl’s head would had been chucked over the gate in less than 30secs…before ramming down the gate and killing everyone in the town. In the comic the mattresses were taken back to the workers of his people. They make him worse in some ways in the show And ngl the FIRST thing I would have done is cooked the books and cached at least half the armory outside the base so that guns and ammo are still available

Osafa and Brandon keep saying to kill Negan as if his minions will suddenly develop loyalty to Rick and the other group. You want to kill Negan? Great! Let’s kill Negan. But be prepared to kill EVERY SINGLE savior as well. Leave none of them alive because if you do there is a possibility of revenge. I feel like if we let them watch the show and learn more about how the saviors operate, they'll come to have the same understanding we do. A lot of these comments are low key spoilers-we know what we know bc we've seen the show. I've seen many reactors have the same opinion to just kill Negan. I actually hope they don't look at too many comments, or start to have a mod filter through and show them the ones that are safe. Let them watch and lets comment on the current knowledge available!

Addison, Brandon is basically saying that the people following Negan are being oppressed by him. So, if you kill their oppressor, why would the oppressed retaliate?

From a sociological standpoint, I love the Negan arc because it helps demonstrate what oppression looks like on a slavery level. It isn't as gruesome as chattel slavery, but they are definitely slaves, and they are absolutely oppressed.

Hi fellas. First I loved your reactions. TWD is my favorite so other than reliving Glenn and Abraham offing by Lucille and Negan rewatching the show with you all has been great. Now the last few episodes the conversations during the show dialog has been a bit much. Pausing after the dialog to discuss or quick short comments during maybe better. I really like your discussions but I feel you may be missing critical details.

The time laspe between Glenn's and Abraham's death and Negan's first visit to Alexandria is only a week. I think Rick and the others deserve time to grieve and then get to planning a way out.

Absolutely. I skip these first episodes of season 7 because Negan is too much of an antagonist to the point that it makes no sense. Even this one is too much. Negan does go out of his way and comes in person to personally humiliate and subjugate Rick specifically. If he tames Rick his community will follow. What Negan is is shook. Though Rick is disheartened and feeling defeated, he could reasonably crash out and have every reason to. This is absolutely about control and trying to psychologically stunt him. And he doesn’t, it’s Rick being the protector of his people for the sake of his family and community. Eff Negan. He ain’t even all that as a villain. 😒 I’ll come back episode 7/8🧍🏽‍♀️

Also, despite the fact that it has been days since the ambush in the woods, Neil and the other zombified Saviors are still very close to the ambush site heading away from it as if they just reanimated. * When Negan fires the bullet into the window, the gun is a Desert Eagle VII pistol, which is chambered for .357 Magnum. * At the end of the episode, when Rosita picks up the spent shell casing from that shot, the headstamp is clearly visible as ".357 Magnum", a rimmed cartridge, commonly used in revolvers. She takes it to Eugene demanding that he "Make me a bullet" for the pistol she had recovered near Daryl's motorcycle. I think this episode shows how good of a leader Rick is. He has to swallow so much in the episode…including Negan, but is always in the best interest of his people until it is the right time to act.
